Gps seems to drift about and looking at Maps there is a pretty large blue circle that never seems to reduce in size, so an accuate fix never happens.
Anyone else seeing gps problems on iPhoneX with ios12
How did you perform the restore? Itunes then restore/update or completely wipe the phone then install iOS 12?
iPhone X. Initial upgrade from 11.4.1 beta using OTA upgrade to 12.0 b1.
Within iTunes I used the Upgrade from ipsw (12.0b1) instead of the Restore from ipsw option to see if it would also work and it resolved the issue I was having where apps that use GPS would not be able to get GPS data for about a minute after the app opened. Maybe there was something wrong with the OTA upgrade process under certain conditions?
Upgrade (control click on the upgrade button, select the ipsw I had downloaded) seems to have worked for me as well.
The problem returned for me after the beta 2 OTA update. I couldn't get a GPS signal for about 15 minutes of my morning commute this morning and again for part of my drive home. I tried Maps, Waze and GPS Diagnostics so it's not an app issue. The GPS Diagnostic app showed no satellites detected during the issue. I uploaded another sysdiag using the Feedback app. It would be nice if they would allow appending information and logs to an existing submission without creating a new submission.
I just re-applied beta 2 from the ipsw using the Shift-Click-> Check for Upgrade method so hopefully that will fix it again. MR had a forum post mentioning to try the Reset Network Settings or toggling Location Services but that may just help kick-start the GPS temporarily.
Through itunes. ctr + click on restore and then chose the ipsw location. Surprisingly quick and I didn't lose any data. (backed up 5 min before)
Well, GPS was completely broken again today. Wandering 10 miles in either direction, sometimes had me in the river with 1 mile accuracy, or apps would report "No GPS Signal"
" It would be nice if they would allow appending information and logs to an existing submission without creating a new submission."
I believe they used to. No idea why they removed that feature.
Maybe it's better that they get more than one report to boost the severity rating of the issue?
The GPS issue returned for me on 6/24 after working fine for two days. I was going out of town when it wasn't getting a GPS signal so I tried the Reset Network Settings which included a restart. The GPS worked after the restart and was still working this morning. I guess I will know in a couple of days if the Reset Network Settings lasts longer than the restore image.
Has anyone else had the issue return after it was working fine for a couple of days?
iPhone X, iOS 12.0 b2
Mine was working fine after I did a restore to iOS 12 Beta 2, but then two days later it's broke again.
Same here. Both times I re-applied the restore image the GPS worked without issues for two days. And after doing the Network Reset it also worked without issues for two days before it started having the issue again of not getting any GPS signal outside for about 10-15 minutes. Hopefully we've provided them enough sysdiag logs for them to fix it in the next beta update. :-)
Send your iPhone to the waranty and don't wait! Mine started with your pronlems and ended with no carrier service!!! Now I don't have warranty and it's dead forever 😢
I tried everything!
