Office 2016 Mostly works well EXCEPT for this new thing since installing Beta 6: Can't SAVE AS or SAVE a new document! It crashes Word every single time! I can name a document, open it, and save it in the same place -- that's it! Anybody have this issue and/or found a solution?

Both of those would bring up OS X Finder's native file-selector dialog. I'd guess that if you tried to open a file from the same menu that you'd see the same crash also. Make sure other 3rd party software using Finder's native file-selector dialog for opening and saving files is working properly.
If it is, and if the behaviour persists after reinstalling MO 2016 and restarting your Mac, then you should file a bug report with Apple here: https://bugreport.apple.com/ and also one with Microsoft.
I've also got this issue, so it must be an issue with Office 2016 and the latest beta release
I also did a full reinstall just in case
I can't reproduce this issue on my side with OSX 10.11.6 (Build 15A244d) and the recent MS Office Beta 15.12.3 (Build 150724). Seems to be an issue with the finder integration in the Office suite? Are there any connected external volumnes and/or exists the issue the Excel or Powerpoint too?
I also have this issue! I will be following this post and hopefully the issue is resolved.
As a workaround, does it help to (force-) quit Word and open it up again? I see a stability issue when I first open up Word or any other of the new Office apps that it becomes unresponsive right at the beginning, but after force-quitting and re-opening the app everything works fine – including saving documents.
I am unable to replicate this on OS X 10.11 Beta 6 (15A244d) with MS Office 2016 15.13.1 (150807), as I hadn't tested before updating, just thought it worth mention that 15.13.1 just came out today.
Also Marcel, MS Office 2016 has been out of beta for a few weeks now.
I just wanted to add that I'm having this issue also, even after the update to 15.13.1 in MS Office.
Save or Save As, beachball freezes word then crashes shortly after.

Also, tried save, open dialogs in Powerpoint and Excel and they are not having this issue.

I was experiencing the issue of not being able to save files from word in office 2016 and DP6. I think this may be because I updated straight from the Office 2016 preview. I was able to resolve the problem by:
1. completely uninstalling office 2016 by following these instructions:
2. reinstalling office 2016.
(I had previously installed office 2016 without going through (1), but that didn't work).

I've now upgraded to 15.13.1 and i still have the issue with word, is it weekly or monthly build of office from Microsoft?
Same here - updated to newest versions of everything and still no joy.
What a mess! OPEN works, but neither save, save as, nor clicking the picture of the disk works - only way to save information is to copy it and save it in text edit.

I'm also having the same issue. When I click the On My Mac button in the save dialog is when everything crashes (after 30 seconds or so).
Install Microsoft Onedrive it seemed to help me.
Are you asking about Microsoft bugs in an Apple forum??
I tried that but couldn't because the app isn't available for Office365 "school/work" accounts. This problem persists for me....
