App video preview Error

Having the same problem:

• I recieved a Created video using

• Uploaded video (4 inch)

• I think I had to wait a few mins while it was 'processing'

• I set a poster frame

So everything was OK. Then I came back the next day and got the familiar:

App Video Preview Error

Some error has occurred with your app video preview.

If there's a problem, iTunes Connect should at least tell you what is it.

I have this problem too.

- I have rendered the trailer with fully following the spec of App Preview Spec.
- And also did use to export from iMovie and Final Cut Pro.

- Even exported the mov file from Iturns.

Itune Connect just deny my submittion of all videos. What I got is :

"Your app video preview is in the wrong format. For more information, see the Developer Guide."

Please help. I have submitted almost twenty times....

This is a video I created using iMovie with their App Preview preset, and shared as an App Preview.

Having the same issue here too, wont let me upload any of the app preview. I tried everything, the usual export settings we normally use, Pro Res HQ etc. nothing works at all. However all the settings used are fully compliant. Even app preview from previous games that are live wont upload on a new title. So I assume there's some issues on iTunes connect. I will try again later to see. Painful!

Oh good it's not just me I spent the last 3 hours banging my head against the macbook figuring out why all the correct settings for the iPhone6 weren't uploading today - the iPad capture worked fine but that was Thursday so maybe the servers have been acting up.

I followed up on support after they wrote "".... After reviewing the app further, I can confirm that you were successfully able to submit version 4.1 of your app with your App Preview Video and it is Waiting for Review....", noting that a successful submit does not necessarily mean that everything will look correct with my previews, especially since the system accepted by submit even though the previews showed errors. The responded asking me tons of information about the video etc.

I'd recommend everyone to contact iTunes support with this problem. There are some people here having the problem since I month, I don't expect it to go away by itself anytime soon otherwise.

I get same problem too... I use old video which is saved successfully at past, it doesn't work too...How can fix this?

I was happy that Apple approved our app today, so it is pending developer release. However, then i noted that my videos which were fine when i uploaded then 1 week ago now have the "App Video Preview Error Some error has occurred with your app video preview"

I don't know what happens to the previews if i release the app. Does anyone know?

Anyway, i submitted case 982258580 to the itunes connect folks, so lets see what happens.

I'm getting the same error too. Everything went through the first time (which was a painful process in and of itself) and now I see the same errors. Everything matches the specs in the developer guide. iPhone 6 works fine every time. The rest show the error. I even logged in to my crap Windows computer; same thing in IE, FireFox and Chrome. 2015 and uploading videos is an issue??! C'mon, you know people at youtube Apple? Give them a buzz. The size requirement is a joke in the first place. Plenty of video players out there that can downgrade 1920 X 1080 to any size screen! Kinda sloppy for Apple.

Nope, the issue is still present. I recommend contracting Apple about it. I just did and sent them all the details (browser, OS version etc.) Nothing works, even App preview that worked on other apps in the past wont work now. They upload but it wont let you save and it returns a "Wrong format" error.

I have experienced both issues in this thread in the last month. 1st one after I submitted the app and it was approved:

"App Video Preview Error Some error has occurred with your app video preview"

And then Nov 4 - Nov 9 I've been getting:

"Your app video preview is in the wrong format. For more information, see the Developer Guide."

I've captured the movie using Quicktime and used both iMovie and Final Cut Pro for creating the preview and followed the exact specs on the developers guide.

Contacted Apple again today and no response yet. Very frustrating!

thanks for sharing. So what happens if you go to the App Store while iTunes connect shows the "Some error has occurred" message? Is the preview shown? or the same error message?

Today I had the same issue after I uploaded my videos on my iMac. Then I signed in on my Macbook Air and the videos seemd to be fine.

So I went back to the iMac and cleared Safari cache (Preferences --> Privacy --> Remove All Website Data).

Now I can see all the videos on my iMac too, the error messages are gone. No need to upload the videos again. I hope this helps for you too!
