App video preview Error

We include an app video preview in our current app submission. The video uploaded fine and went throught the review process. Now the app is ready for release, but when looking at the preview in iTunes connect it has an overlay over the video with message

"App Video Preview Error Some error has occurred with your app video preview"

Has anyone else seen this?

Looks like the issue is fixed now. Not getting the "wrong format" anymore when uploading! 🙂

@ratrodstudio

Uploaded same videos which failed yesterday. All uploaded OK now, but after processing: "Some error has occurred..." message appears 😟

This error has now been fixed and I can view my videos so probably worth retrying if you had it too.

Not fixed for me 😟

Same as Nerius. @ratrodstudio - can u confirm that the video goes thru?

Oh dear - maybe there is still some problem with cacheing on their servers.

You could log out wait a few hours and try again? Either way I hope it is fixed for you soon - I think if you open the error console and click the link in the error it will let you at least watch the video if it has been uploaded successfully (even if the GUI does not let you right now).

Possible solution: I used the 'Remove All Website Data' in Safair Preferences / Privacy.. and now a video which said "Some error has occurred with your app video preview" appears as normal. Not completely confident that it will go thru.

Yes, that did the trick for me too:

Safari-Preference-Privacy-Remove All Website Data

Now my 3 videos (4-7, 5-5, 4-0 inch) videos which said "Some error has occurred with your app video preview" appears as normal.

We are shipping our groshapp.com app on nov 26, so hope they dont break in the meantime 🙂

Thanks - seems it was all a client side problems, and the videos are fine on the server!

Apple are now sending the folllowing response header :

Access-Control-Allow-Origin *

which will fix the client side errors we were seeing.

Good luck with your release!

Same problem: clearing Safari cache didn't helped for me.

Apple has confirmed that the XMLHttpRequest bug I identified above is now fixed and I have closed my bug in the bug report tool (bugreport.apple.com) after confirming the fix.

If you are still having issues I would recommend you collect the details and submit a bug to Apple using the tool as they resolved my issue within 3 business days.

Good Luck!

Thanks! Clearing the Safari cache fixed the issue for me too (I was one of the ones with the cryptic "there was an error" message, not a "wrong format" message).

Hi,

Now I can upload and save video...I thoght it is fine now. But later it still show errors.... The video is fine, I have used before....

I think there still has bugs.

Thank you!

Ditto. Just heard back from Apple today and they said the issue has been resolved. The video previews on my latest app record all work as expected, as they do on the app store.

All is right again in the Apple universe 🙂

@fareast55: Must be parallel universe to the one I'm living in 😉

Support wrote back that everything is resolved. After clearing the browser cache, the message ""App Video Preview Error, Some error has occured with your app video preview" had disappeared. Yesterday, my app got approved and is now in the App Store. I checked again this morning in iTunes connect, and the error message was back again. However, the good news is, the preview is shown correctly in the app store 🙂 So this problem apparently just has something to do with the iTunes web front end, not how the video is stored on the server.

I just checked again now, and the error is gone. Looks like the system having some last hickups 😉 So for everyone still seeing the error message, try a couple of times and see if it is revolved.
