I have installed the beta iOS 14 on my iPhone 6s and the battery drains pretty fast
iOS 14 Beta Battery drain on iPhone 6s
iPhone 11 Pro Max here and it also gets quite hot and battery is not nearly as good as it used to be. Apple needs to figure this out!
Same issue: “I have installed iOS 14 on my iPhone 6s and the battery drains pretty fast”
iPhone 6s here. Yup. Same problem. And just had my battery changed about 1 year ago. Battery health at 91 percent
“glad” to see newer phones having same problem. Some have told me only older phones are having this problem because older processor can’t handle update

Same exact problem. Battery runs down immediately and it’s super hot when using it.
Does Apple even read these comments??? My phone was perfect before 14 & 14.1 update.

Hi all. I had this problem up to a moment ago. I turned off background services, turned off location services, turned on auto brightness, deleted any unused apps, turned off optimised battery charging (selected 24 hours/tomorrow) closed all extra windows in the background.
my background app refresh was already turned off so that can’t have been my issue but maybe it’s worth you all trying that.
i didn’t restart my phone, but I did charge it back to 100%.
thank you all.

RIP iPhone 6S..
After iOS 14.0.1 upgrade - Battery is draining rapidly. Consuming 30-40 % when iphone screen is off and no app running in background.
Just had conversation with apple support. They don't have any fix available now.
Very bad support. Low quality apple device and low quality software. Useless apple.
Better to go with android.

I have the iPad Pro and it was totally fine before the iOS 14 update,, now when I go on it for 10 minutes, about 8% is gone
Forbes released an article about it last week. Here are the important bits...
”Indexing Blues
iOS 14 is definitely to blame for your iPhone not lasting as long as usual, but it’s not because Apple has secret code embedded in the new operating system that “targets” older phones.
In the days after you install a new version of iOS, it’s busy doing all sorts of housekeeping.
The biggest one of these is re-indexing. During this process, iOS 14 combs through all of the data on your device so that it can be cataloged for quick Spotlight searching. This takes a ton of processing power and chews through battery life like a hamster through a cardboard box.”
“So How Do You Fix Battery Life in iOS 14?
Wait. That’s it. Nothing fancy. No toggles to hit. No battery health screens to check out. Just wait 24-48 hours. After a couple of days and a few full charge cycles iOS 14 will calm down and you’ll see your battery life return to normal. “

Actuallly i am using iphone xr and i have faced so mamy issues after installing ios 14, actually it used to last for few hours and the health app used to keep on running in the background and it took nearly 6.5 gb of internal storage for no reason. So, I have deleted entire dats in my phone, go to settings and press erase all contents and settings. then updated to 14.0.1 no it is back to normal, the battery backup is gud. so please follow the above method and dont restore ur iphone from prev backup, install everything newly and u will find the change in battery life for sure.
I don’t know if this will help anyone but I have an iPhone 8 Plus and running the most recent update has essentially solved my battery issue. It was BURNING hot and draining rapidly. Now it seems to be running like it was before
I got my iPhone 11 in late August and because I had severe battery problems with my previous 7 I took note of how much my battery would go down. Initially my 11 would last around 16 hours and a percent would go down only every 10 minutes. Now since updating to iOS 14 , my battery lasts around 10-11 hours instead.
I have Iphone 11 since october 2019.
Donwloaded new iOS 14.1 one week ago and battery also drains in less than 6 hours.
Even connected to the laptop the battery drains faster than it charges.
Reindexing bull**** cannot go on for so long, bever happened before with iphone or other brands.
Gonna sell this phone if there is no update to fix this until end of this week.

I noticed the same thing. I tested an iPhone 6s on iOS 14 and compared it to iOS 13. iOS 13 gave me about 4 1/2-5 hours of screen on time with at least an hour of screen off with no issues getting me through a day. After updating to iOS 14, I get 3-3 1/2 hours of screen on time, with 20 mins of screen off.. Definitely a hit in the battery department... I'd give it a few updates, Apple should fix it. Don't forget that it is in fact an early version which comes with issues under that category.
The battery on my iPhone 11 Pro Max has definitely been draining faster since I’ve updated to iOS 14. I’m not even getting 10hrs of SOT. It’s really upsetting since that’s one of the main reasons why you purchase a $1,200 phone. I hope Apple fixes this in future updates!
I have the same problem with iPhone XS. This is ridiculous. My phone has to be charged 3-4 times a day. I haven’t even finished paying for this phone. It should last a lot longer than this. Please fix this issue Apple.
I have 11 promax and everything was fine untill I downloaded ios 14 the battery started draining significantly I have never charged this phone twice a day and since I uploaded ios 14 things changed.
On,y iPhone 11 it went from 100 to 60% and I was not even using it
My phone literally drained 70% in 3 hours without even using it. I have an iPhone 11 pro. FIX THE IOS 14.2 BETA
I have an iPhone 8+. My battery has become trash since downloading the iOS 14. I’m having to charge my phone 5+ times a day when it would last all day on one full charge. Very disappointed.
This week I updated the IOS to 14.0.1 and I’m having issues with battery. Apple should do something quick to resolve this.
iPhone XS Max, 1 month old and battery is dropping to 30% in 1-2h without even touching it,
Apple need to fix this IOS bull**** really soon !

Is your battery worn?
Your first port of call should be the Battery Health page (System > Battery > Battery Health). Here Maximum Capacity should be above 80 percent, and you should have Optimized Battery Charging enabled. If Maximum Capacity is less than 80 percent, or you have a message under Peak Performance Capability about unexpected shutdowns, then there's a problem with the battery and you need it looked at.

Hi, I have an iPhone 11 and since the IOS 14 came along, my battery now drains really fast.
Last night my iPhone had 88% before I went to sleep, I just woke up and it is at 78%.
I thought that this was probably caused by the new feature of sound recognition, I disabled it yesterday before I went to sleep, and the behavior is the same.

I have a 1 y/o XR that has been perfectly fine and never gave me a single problem. Since I downloaded the update over this past weekend, my battery has drained so quickly it’s ridiculous! I had 100% when I got up, have only 3 hrs of usage, and I’m at 18%. 😳 something isn’t right with this update!
