The Home app consistently crashes when you attempt to add accessories to any scene or automation. Has anyone else had this issue or know of a workaround?
Home app crashing when adding accessories
I've been experiencing this same thing for a couple weeks now and haven't been able to find an answer. I've even tried to delete the Home app and reinstall it. Still crashes.
Same here, my crashes are the Home app instantly closing/exiting. I am getting the crash as soon as I try to add a defaul scene (Good morning, Good night, I'm home, or I'm leaving). If I try adding a custom scene I can name it, but clicking "Add Accessories" crashes the Home app.
I have 5 Hue bulbs (2 color, 3 ambiance) natively, and a Nest and some TP-Link switches which are served up via Home Assistant and home-bridge. I also have the Hue bulbs duplicated through HA but hidden in the Home app. I also have an automation in HA to change the light temp throughout the day, but I never use it as I couldn't get it to work right, it shows as a switch.
Any others care to share what items they have in Home. I wouldn't doubt that my non-standard configuration could be casuing me issues vs. having only natively working items.
having the exact same issue, can't seem to add accessories to scenes, groups or automations.
10.2.1 beta 3 did not solve the problem
I have been having this issue as well. I am able to use other apps to add new items and setup timers but not the default Home app. I added a new location (Home) to the Home app and was able to add and setup timers for that location without a crash. So, it appears that there could be an issue with a corrupted file that is causing the orginal location to crash the app.
Go into iCloud, turn off home, go into your settings and under passcode, turn off view home from locked screen. Hard restart your device as always when changing any security or importing setting, go into iCloud, turn home back on, then open the application. It's a bit arkward at times you may have to do this back to front, but it's all down too disabling the view on locked screen.
