When typing into HTML input type=date picker if you want a second or 2 what you previously typed will be overwritten

When typing into HTML input type=date picker if you want a second or 2 what you previously typed will be overwritten.

For example if you highlight the year and you want to type in '2023'. You type in '20' (wait 2 seconds) and then type in '23' the previous '20' you typed will be overwritten.
