Airdrop Files Not Showing Up in Downloads Folder

I'm having trouble with Airdrop on my iPhone 11 Pro and iPad 11 Pro when transferring files to my Macbook Pro M1 Max. Even though it appears that files are sent to the Downloads folder via Airdrop with the usual animation and sound, they're nowhere to be found in the folder.

Right now, my workaround is either using iCloud, which takes some extra time, or manually copying and pasting the files on my laptop. Any ideas on how to fix this Airdrop issue would be really helpful!
