Apple Music launched today with a new version of iOS 8, but not seeing any update for iOS 9 beta to include and test the new application. Does anyone know when iOS 9 will be updated as well as when El Capitan will be updated with a new music app? for the new service?
Apple Music?
I am currently on chat with someone about the isssue. She will be back after she talks with someone else and I will let you know.
"You are more than welcome! It should definitely be included in the iOS 9 Beta 2, if not the new one will be posted including the Apple Music feature." I have confirmation there will be a an update to iOS 9 w/ Apple music.
It was never going to be in Beta 2. Eddy Cue said himself that Apple Music will be coming for iOS 9 Beta, but it will be in another seed.
The question is: Will iOS 9 Beta 3 be released today?
We already knew that, Eddie Cue tweeted such a few days ago. If there's nothing at 19:00 UTC we'll probably have to wait until next week.
Did you get any timeline on next seed? Can't imagine we'll have to wait for another 2 weeks! ****
Considering that my Music app on iOS 9 was already asking me to sign up for Apple Music and giving me both individual and family options it seems that this is a matter of flipping a switch. Beats1 was playing on my iphone with ios9 for about 5 minutes then it stopped.
BTW hitting theplay button won't work you ahev to click on the beats 1 image.. buggy.
Are the betas always released at that time ? Just wondering why that would be the limit if there was going to be an update today. Thanks !
holycrap... that worked.... the play now just does nothing, but right above it works fine... weird and thanks.
well Apple doesnt seem to care about Developers at the second so i wouldnt put it past them
Developers are supposed to be developing for iOS9 - not waiting to jump on every new feature so they can be first in the block. Your "Apple doesn't care about developers" (which, I observe, you've posted more thsan once) is complete nonsense
I really shouldn't feed trolls, but here I go.
What makes you think they don't care about Developers?
Have you heard of WWDC at all?
Also, as this is a developer forum; could you enlighten us to which app you develop?
Thanks.
This.
I suspect there are quite a few non-developers here who seem to think that installing beta software affords them the right to complain about Apple. Actual developers know better and act accordingly.
A slight workaround guys.
Sign up on your Mac or PC or if you have another iOS device with 8.4 and search and add music to your library.
As long as you have itunes data and icloud music library enabled on your iOS 9 device then you can access all the music on their.
You can't search or access other features on iOS9 but you can at least add music to your library for free (while we are in the trial period). That will have to do until the new seed is released.
But there is something to be said for feature parity. The discrepancy with production and beta software (where beta is actually behind production) is completely counter intuitive to the development process.
Why should we be working on older code? What about apps that utilize the music player? Are you saying they just WONT break once Apple Music changes are included in the new player?
The beta should be at minimum current with all production features (unless they are intentionally being depricated). Any b.s. excuses you want to throw around about developers knowing better. I am a developer, I know better, have been building and testing mobile apps since before the iPhone existed and have been registered with Apple (paying dev here) for 6 years now.
Oh and yes I do have tons of devices. Some run beta and some run production. But that does not exuse these variances in feature parity.
