Apple Music launched today with a new version of iOS 8, but not seeing any update for iOS 9 beta to include and test the new application. Does anyone know when iOS 9 will be updated as well as when El Capitan will be updated with a new music app? for the new service?
Apple Music?
cool
if developers are not supposed to be waiting for new features why are you here?
Oh come on man, it's perfectly reasonable to be upset that apple wouldn't merge 8.4 back into 9.0 on the official release. It is in fact taking a **** on developers.
According to those with Apple stockholm syndrome, a developer, as a week ago, should have
- A secondary iphone with 8.4
- A secondary iphone with ios 9beta
- A primary phone with the latest stable release
And if you don't have all of these, shame on you.
WWDC has nothing to do with developer relations. It's about fastracking developers to be aligned with apple marketing on major launch dates. For ios 8, cupertino wanted to see apps ready on launch with metal, handoff, extensions, etc.
Android platform is a real example of a company that puts resources into delevoper relations. You can't just say "Well, developing on ios/macos is better so no one has the right to complain or even give constructive critisim"
jrgibson1 can you please enlighten us to the app you have graced us with?
This is complete and utter ********. Have you ever hung out with a group of actual ios developers on actual production apps? We "lose our ****" everyday about the platform. This is a discussion forum, and the discussion is that the release management team should have put in effort to reach feature parity by the public launch of a point release of an entire operating system.
Hahaha! That is pretty funny. I've always said that developers should always have the FIRST taste of all the fun, and YES I KNOW "developer programs are for app makers and all that blah blah". But like aasatt said, why get us all hyped up and make this big announcement of an official release at WWDC, then leave us hanging. I'm also aware that people are going to tell me that I shouldn't be running beta on my daily device. Well to me that's the best way to do what I do with betas! I'm in the Military as well so I'm not always home long enough to fire up additional components to do what I need, so I put it on the device I use the most with the expectations of bugs and apps not working. I just didn't expect they'd leave out Apple Music for us on the official release date and push it to iOS 8. Just my opinion though.
