iOS 11 Beta: iPad Pro Logitech Keyboard Update Annoyance

I have an iPad Pro 12.9" with a Logitech CREATE keyboard case, which uses the smart connector, not bluetooth.

For a while now, I have gotten intermittent "Accessory Update Available" messages, mostly when inadvertently breaking the connection momentarily.

It doesn't actually seem like this message is correct, because whether I press "Later" or "Update", nothing ever happens.

As I said, prior to upgrading to the iOS 11 Beta, this was a rare occurrence. Since the update, this message is triggered much, much more often. The main problem this creates is that one app I use, Marvel's Contest of Champions, does not handle being backgrounded very well, even if only momentarily for a modal dialog such as this one.

Does anybody know how I can either:

1) Actually install the update (if one even exists), or

2) Tell iOS to ignore any updates for this accessory?

I actually had this happen to me today. I was having some issues with my keyboard after I updated to IOS 11 and It was very annoying because It would just stop working at random times. But I got that Accessory update pop up today and I pressed update, not knowing exactly what it would do. It went through the update and gave me a success pop up. Ever since then, the keyboard has been working perfectly. But I still do have the issue of whenever it disconnects slightly and then reconnects, it will pop up that Accessory Upate thing, but after that first time it wont actually update.

I’m getting bugged to update the keyboard several times every day. As per your report, I can tap any button, update or cancel and nothing happens.

Would really like someone to figure this out.

I get this every time my Logitech keyboard gets ‘attached’ or ‘detached‘

I know that when I first saw it, I said to update, then lost internet, so it probably failed, but I can’t seem to get it to try again. I’ve upgraded the beta version to the latest, etc. and it’s still there.

Is there a file we need, or a special reset on something?

interesting bug, I got the latest Logi KB case and its not doing it. I assume it’s because there are no updates yet.

I have had EXACTLY the same experience. Original 12.9" Logitech CREATE Pro keyboard from the start.

Super annoying and I've never seen a successful update be applied.

I logged a Feedback from iPad, recommend all doing that as well.

I have a 9.5 inch iPad Pro. I continue to receive the update request regardless of the action button selected. This occurred prior to the upgrading to 11.0 Beta version. I have replaced the Logitech CREATE Smart Keyboard and the problem continues. The first time the update request appeared, it did seem to update after selecting update. Since that point, it has continued to ask with no obvious results. It happens anytime the keyboard is disconnected.

Same deal here. Original iPad Pro Logitech keyboard. The message appears virtually every time it’s connected or disconnected. Nothing seems to happen when the update choice is submitted. Clearly a bug.

I have a 9.7 inch iPad Pro and just purchased the Logitech Create for it and am asking the same thing running the iOS 11 beta. Good to know this is not just me! I hope this get's fixed in the future! Might be helpful to post an update to the Feedback app to make sure Apple is aware!

Same is happening to me as well. Except I’m using the iPad Pro 9.7 with said keyboard. EVERYTIME IT CONNECTS, OR DISCONNECTS THIS DIALOG POPS UP. Ugh, they really should have put an option somewhere in the settings to disable updating anything through smart connector.

I have same issue on my 12.9” iPad Pro (2015) with all iOS version since 10.0 up to current iOS 11 beta 4. I have 2nd Create keyboard even with replaced iPad Pro. It didn’t help.

Apple, please fix this and avoid pointing fingers to Logitech. Logitech engineers points to Apple too. Just offer disable updates option in hardware keyboard or actual fix this bug.

I am ready to throw out this keyboard. It’s almost perfect except annoying update pop ups several times per hour!

Exactly the same issue - 9.7" iPad with the Logitech create keyboard case. Would love for this to be fixed before the final release, and not to keep persisting for the next month/month and a half (or god-forbid exist in the final release).

I have this problem with the latest 12.9" iPad, iOS 11 public beta 4, and the Apple Smart Keyboard cover. Seems to just sort of happen. It will be fine for awhile and then the alert starts popping up. I think I saw this once or twice with public beta 3, but with beta 4, it was almost instant. I restarted and it still does it.

I have the same problem with my 9.7" Ipad and the message pops up several times a day and is very annoying and cumbersome. I check several forums even at logitech and apple, could not find a solution. It has nothing to do with the IOS version, I am using 10.3.3.

The logitech keyboard disconnects also several times, which is disappointing for keyboard of this price.

Does everone has a solution?

Same issue with my 10.5 Ipad Pro keyboard. Worked fine with iOS 11 Beta 3 but Beta 4 is 'timing out' the Smart Connector pairing and I have to restart constanty. Awful

Worse and worse: with iOS beta 5, the keyboard Create by Logitech doesn't work any longer with my Ipad Pro 9,7! 😠 If you need your iPad with keyboard, do not update! 😮
