Xcode Cloud builds stuck at App Store Connect

Xcode Cloud builds are hanging forever at the final step, Prepare Build for App Store Connect. This is a common issue that requires some fix in Cupertino.

Reporting this in the afternoon of Jan 13, Pacific Time.

Update: After many tries, it looks like something happened as suddenly my builds no longer stall.

We've been experiencing the same thing with our Xcode cloud flows since yesterday as well. Builds are completing but the flow gets stuck on the "Archiving" phase. We have one that's been stuck there for over 14 hours!

I have submitted case FB21629268. For me, one of my three targets fail randomly, sometimes the tvOS one, sometimes the visionOS one. And resubmitting a previous build that had all three targets go through showed that one failed again. None of my builds make it to Distribution or TestFlight and show just as "Processing" - just like the other reports here.

Xcode Cloud outages like this are frustratingly common, and usually regard a broken linkage between the build system and App Store Connect.

@DTS Engineer Albert, I would discourage you from asking developers to spend time troubleshooting their projects. The problem is on Apple's end 99% of the time, especially when there are multiple reports.

Nor would I point to the Developer System Status page as evidence that the system is working. These frequent outages are rarely acknowledged there.

Committing to an Xcode Cloud workflow means that these outages are not just an annoyance, they're often a show-stopper.

Xcode Cloud is in need of rapid and accurate communication between devs and Cloud engineers, which is objectively not happening.

Reports through Feedback assistant often take several days to be acknowledged. Posts here, even when scores of devs pile in, seem to take a day or more to get the attention of the right person.

At the very least, could we get an acknowledgement here that "We know and we're working on it"?

Looks like an issue with App Uploads on App Store Connect was finally acknowledged on https://developer.apple.com/system-status/.

We recently migrated to using exclusively Xcode Cloud, so I completely agree that instances like this happen WAY too often with no communication from Apple and are showstoppers for our process.

While asking developers to verify that their projects work used to be accurate when dealing with local issues, Xcode Cloud seems to just give out at random times with no indication of what's wrong. These issues seem to solely lie with Apple's implementation of a cloud based build service, which is magnified by a serious lack of communication from Apple during these outages.

Seeing this issue as well. Sometime builds get stuck at the archive step and a rerun will pass.

Yesterday, I intermittently also received dns errors during package installations from ghcr.io, which was not down.

Mine are also getting stuck in "Processing" for hours. Developer Support was able to clear the last two that were stuck. Attempted to upload another build, and it cleared processing, but in the AppStoreConnect TestFlight tab it doesn't show either "Manage Compliance" or "Ready to Submit" and is not available as an Internal TestFlight build (102802106402). These issues began at around 9p last night and I haven't been able to get a build through without help from developer support since then. I suspect they're getting a lot of requests for help because their phone system isn't working either--you get the outbound call but it doesn't respond to touchtone menu inputs (and now the schedule page throws an error). I've noticed that happening in the past when there are widespread issues with build processing.

Hello there! We believe this issue has been resolved. If you’re still experiencing long processing times for your builds, please file a Feedback Assistant ticket and share the ticket number here so we can investigate further. Thank you!
