After installed ios 11.1 beta 1, battery drains 4% per hour, even if the iphone is not touched. My iphone is an iPhone 7 Plus.
I had already optimized the brightness, background process and as well location services.
For the moment I have activated battery low power.
I hope that we see very soon a 2nd beta!!!
same here on mines 7Plus and 7, its incredible the very fast drain
All betas come with test-level power management, where it is routine to find certain functions that are removed/hobbled during the beta cycle.
Not new, very normal, feel free to file bugs if you think you have additional info not already being harvested by the backend in the background as you test your apps, etc.
I can confirm this as well. Using 11.1 beta on an iPhone 7 (32GB variant). I haven't experienced the battery drain this fast, too. I allowed the battery to drain completely and fully charged it. I haven't done Reset All Settings yet. I'll update this thread if I'm still experiencing the drain after the full drain and full charge cycle.
Battery drain is very bad in this build. Also the phone runs very hot on my iPhone 7+.
I went to Apple Service. They run diagnostics on my battery and everything on battery was OK. So, the problem seams to be the beta itself.
They told me to do the following:
(a) Backup the phone
(b) Reinstall OS from iTunes (make as new)
(c) Restore from backup
(d) let it charge
and after should be OK.
I'll give a try to the above and I'll update the post on results
I downgrade to 11.0.1 waiting for next beta
I also noticed my phone runs hotter using 11.1 compared to 11.0
I do as well. Nothing changed after the above process.
MY iPhone 7+ as well. Incredibly hot and fast battery drain.

I have used iphone for 5 years, for the first time, the iphone is automatically shut down due to no battery during night!!!
Last time we sleep at 2:00 with a battery of 76%. I woke up at 06:40 noticing the battery in 19%.
20 minutes later 13%
I did the same came back to 11.0.1 from 11.1 beta, issue still remains but the draining a bit slow now.
my iPhone 7 as well, luckily i have another phone. until an update fixed this issue.

Yes. Iphone 6s, same issue. From full charge phone idle for 2 hours battery dropped to 82% Regret for updating to 11.1, official 11.0 battery can last for 12hours with normal usage
