I have the info on how to set up alternate icons in iOS 10.3+ adding the key in the Info.plist. Apple developer account says the number of alternate icons that can be in an app is finite. I work in an app development company and since Apple has been cracking down heavily on Template based apps, we are forced to make a container app for our clients that are more than 100 in number already. Can someone give me some info on the number of icons that we can have? Is it a finite number or does it depend on the size of each icon and the Info.plist file has a size limit? Any info is much appreciated.

Hello, We are doing the same thing. MLB has lots. Don't think apple has but a limit on the amount! you just want to watch out for the file size of the app. Think this is the best option for container apps. No body reads the text under a icon they only look at the icon artwork so this will be great for branding on the homescreen.

I also just got my container app rejected for 4.3... They tell you to create a container app and then they reject it... So expect it to be rejected. I had to submit to the review board because I know they will not read my comment. Good Luck
