Notarization takes more than a day
Hello everyone, I'm encountering significant delays with the notarization process for our Electron application using a newly created developer account. The process is taking an unusually long time (1-2 days), which is disrupting our workflow. Details: We've attempted notarization multiple times over the past 2 weeks. The process consistently takes 8+ hours before I typically abort it. (due going offline etc) Interestingly, when I check the notary history later, it shows the notarization was actually successful. Our application package is relatively large, which might be contributing to the delay (archive: 226 mb, app:800mb) Recent Examples: Current submission (still in progress): 52db12c3-4a54-4e14-9d77-e141d7f28227 Previous successful submission: 49273be6-3e13-4f3f-83a4-945114d899b9 Has anyone else experienced similar issues with notarizing applications? Are there any optimizations or best practices I should implement to reduce these processing times? I'm using the default notarization feature that comes with electron forge. Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated!

Notarization takes almost a week
Hi everyone! I've send my .dmg file for notarization, it has been accepted on March 5. Since then there weren't any updates, it hasn't changed its status. What might be the problem? Notarytool stuck at "In Progress"

Notarization.
Hi, I've code-signed my app and notarized it, and created a DMG, and when I slacked it or airdropped it to someone for testing the FIRST time they open it, they get a warning that it was Slacked or airdropped to them and do they want to open it. if they say yes everything is fine. So looking through here someone said I need to sign the app and then make a dmg and sign the dmg and then send that for notorization and then staple that. So I did, and I still get a warning the first tie someone try's to run it. What am I doing wrong? I know I can buy software and not get a warning from apple. so how do I get my app to work correctly like that?

Error 65 upon stapling - cannot reset trust settings
Hi, I'm getting error 65 upon stapling and I am suspecting that non-default trust settings may be the reason as outlined here: Unfortunately whatever I do, I can't seem to reset the trust settings to their default values (removing the blue/white "+"), I'm not being asked for credentials upon closing the certificate window. I have also tried to unlock the System Roots key chain, to no avail. Also, when running security dump-trust-settings -d I get Number of trust settings : 0 for all certificates. Any ideas as to what I may be doing wrong? Is there any other setting that may be involved? Thanks!

Struggling to Notarize Electron macOS App – Stuck for Hours
Hey everyone, I've been trying to notarize my Electron macOS app for the past two days without any success. My longest attempt took nearly 4 hours, and my current attempt has already been running for 2 hours and 26 minutes. From what I can see in the logs, the signing step has completed successfully, and the app is currently in the notarization stage. But it's been stuck there with no real updates or progress indicators. Is this kind of delay normal? Has anyone else experienced such long notarization times? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Notarization of Electron MacOS App taking too long
I started the notarization process for my electron app (just a browser window loading a URL) yesterday (26/03/2025) at around 05:23 GMT. I noticed in a couple of posts here in the forum that it may sometimes take a day to notarize the first app submitted by a team, but it has been over 30 hours since I submitted the app for notarization Here's the log. createdDate: 2025-03-26T05:23:11.102Z id: ddcb3fca-4667-4acb-8fd1-3298a7c244cc name: xolock-browser.zip status: In Progress Is there any reason why it is taking so long? Thanks in advance!

notary tool consistently delay for 1 of my app even it already accepted multiple times
Hi, I recently got a consistent delay from notary tool. I have viewed all your suggestions and understand that it "occasionally" will have further review and take longer time, but then it will be faster. However, in my case, my app although is accepted many times. It is still significantly delay. It is a native macOS app called ConniePad. Whenever I submit, it took me 2 days or more to finish notarise, which significantly affect my business. Could you please have a look on it. Notarization taking 12+ hours
I submitted a Mac application for a safari ad blocker extension about 15 hours ago and it's still in progress. Is it normal for notarization to take this long? It's my first time submitting something for notarization so maybe that's why it's taking longer than expected? ID: 8BDB3D5E-3A42-469F-9479-AC76229C6BB5

NotaryTool failing with invalid server certificate
Hi All. I'm having a notarization issue trying to get a product built. Starting around the beginning of April, I have a notarization process failing every time with an invalid server certificate. The returned error is: Error: HTTPError(statusCode: nil, error: Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1202 "The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “notary-artifacts-prod.s3.amazonaws.com” which could put your confidential information at risk." UserInfo={NSLocalizedRecoverySuggestion=Would you like to connect to the server anyway?, _kCFStreamErrorDomainKey=3, NSErrorPeerCertificateChainKey=( "<cert(0x107810200) s: *.s3.amazonaws.com i: Amazon RSA 2048 M01>", "<cert(0x107810c00) s: Amazon RSA 2048 M01 i: Amazon Root CA 1>", "<cert(0x107811400) s: Amazon Root CA 1 i: Starfield Services Root Certificate Authority - G2>", "<cert(0x107811c00) s: Starfield Services Root Certificate Authority - G2 i: Starfield Class 2 Certification Authority>" The problem certificate appears to be "Amazon RSA 2048 M01" which appears to be expired. The error fires in response to an 'xcrun notarytool log' command. The initial ' xcrun notarytool submit' has already worked. The build server in this case is running Jenkins, with a Makefile driven notarization stage. It all worked perfectly until a build on April 3rd, all builds have failed since. I have tried using '--no-s3-acceleration'. But that fails even faster with: Conducting pre-submission checks for ICFA.zip and initiating connection to the Apple notary service... Submission ID received id: d50a2157-7acb-4bd6-b1d1-6d0b1d52d5c9 Error: The operation couldn’t be completed. (Network.NWError error 2.) Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Right now I have folks needing a valid build. Thanks in advance.

I got my app notarized but I am still getting the malware warning message
Hello, I recently had my Electron app notarized by Apple and then performed the following steps: Stapling the Notarization Ticket: xcrun stapler staple "appPath/Aiparalegal.app" Zipping the App for Distribution: ditto -c -k --keepParent "appPath/Aiparalegal.app" theAIParalegal.zip However, after unzipping and attempting to launch the app, macOS displays the following message: Apple could not verify "theAIParalegal" is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy. Yet, when I run validation using: xcrun stapler validate "theAIParalegal.app" I receive confirmation: The validate action worked! I then tried restarting my computer but the problem persist Could you help me understand why the notarization validation appears successful, yet macOS still displays this security warning? Any advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
