I am writing an app that parses text and conducts some actions. I don't want to give too much away ;) However, I am having a huge problem with token sizes. LanguageModelSession will of course give me the on device model 4096 available, but when you go over 4096, my code doesn't seem to be falling back to PCC, or even the system configured ChatGPT. Can anyone assist me with this? For some reason, after reading the docs, it's very unclear how this transition between the three takes place.

My app lets you create images with Image Playground. When the user approves an image I move it to the documents dir from the temp storage. With over a year of usage I’ve created a lot of images over time. Out of nowhere the app stopped loading my custom creations from Image Playground saying it couldn’t find the files. It still had my VoiceOver strings I had added for each image and still had the custom categories I assigned them. Debug code to look in the docs dir doesn’t find them. I downloaded the app’s container and only see the images I created as a test after the problem started. But my ~70MB app is still taking up 300MB on my iPhone so it feels like they’re there but not accessible. Is there anything else I can try?

In the processPreviewImages, I am using the Vision APIs to generate a segmentation mask for a person/object, then compositing that person onto a different background (with some other filtering). The filtering and compositing is done via CoreImage. At the end, I convert the CIImage to a CGImage then to a SwiftUI Image. When I run it on my iPhone, it works fine, and has not crashed. When I run it on the iPhone with the debugger, it crashes within a few seconds with: EXC_BAD_ACCESS in libRPAC.dylib`std::__1::__hash_table<std::__1::__hash_value_type<long, qos_info_t>, std::__1::__unordered_map_hasher<long, std::__1::__hash_value_type<long, qos_info_t>, std::__1::hash, std::__1::equal_to, true>, std::__1::__unordered_map_equal<long, std::__1::__hash_value_type<long, qos_info_t>, std::__1::equal_to, std::__1::hash, true>, std::__1::allocator<std::__1::__hash_value_type<long, qos_info_t>>>::__emplace_unique_key_args<long, std::__1::piecewise_construct_t const&, std::__1::tuple<long const&>, std::__1::tuple<>>: It had previously been working fine with the debugger, so I'm not sure what has changed. Is there a difference in how the Vision APIs are executed if the debugger is attached vs. not?

Just got my new Mac mini and the automatically installed version of python installed by brew is python 3.13 and while if I was in a hurry, I could manage to get python 3.12 installed and use the corresponding tensorflow-metal version but I'm not in a hurry. I'm writing about Apple Intelligence and I reached the point I have to explain App Intent Domains https://developer.apple.com/documentation/AppIntents/app-intent-domains but I noticed that there is a note explaining that these services are not available with Siri. I tried the example provided by Apple at https://developer.apple.com/documentation/AppIntents/making-your-app-s-functionality-available-to-siri and I can only make the intents work from the Shortcuts App, but not from Siri. Is this correct. App Intent Domains are still not available with Siri? Thanks

My app used app intents. And when user said "Prüfung der Bluetooth Funktion", screen can show the whole words. But in my app, it only can get "Bluetooth Funktion". This behaviour only happened in German version. In English version, everything worked well. Is anyone can support me? Why German version siri cut my words?

Current Setup: Device: iPhone 16 Pro Max iOS: 26 beta 3 Development: Tested on both Xcode 16 and Xcode 26 Implementation: Following the official documentation examples The Problem: Semantic search simply doesn't work. Lexical search functions normally, but enabling semantic search produces identical results to having it disabled. It's as if the feature isn't actually processing. Error Output (Xcode 26): [QPNLU][qid=5] Error Domain=com.apple.SpotlightEmbedding.EmbeddingModelError Code=-8007 "Text embedding generation timeout (timeout=100ms)" [CSUserQuery][qid=5] got a nil / empty embedding data dictionary [CSUserQuery][qid=5] semanticQuery failed to generate, using "(false)" In Xcode 16, there are no error messages at all - the semantic search just silently fails. I didn't run benchmarks before update, but it seems at least 5x slower. Of course all the LLM work is on remote servers, so is non-intuitive to me this should be happening. Had updated MacOS and Xcode to 26.1RC at the same time, so can't even say I think it is MacOS or I think it is Xcode. Before the update the progress indicator for each piece of code might seem to get stuck at the very end (and toggling between Navigators and Coding Assistant) in Xcode UI seemed to refresh the UI and confirm coding complete... but now it seems progress races to 50%, then often is stuck at 75%... well earlier than used to get stuck. And it like something is legitimately processing not just a UI glitch. I'm wondering if this is somehow tied to visual rendering of the code in the little white window? CMD-TAB into Xcode seems laggy. Xcode is pinning a CPU. Why, this is all remote LLM work? MacBook Pro 2021 M1 64GB RAM. Went from 26.01 to 26.1RC. Didn't touch any of the betas until RC1.

I had already thought about developing a demo app to demonstrate my idea for a better Siri. My change of many: Wish Update: Siri's language recognition capabilities have been significantly enhanced. Instead of manually setting the language, Siri can now automatically recognize the language you intend to use, making language switching much more efficient. Simply speak the language you want to communicate in, and Siri will automatically recognize it and respond accordingly. Whether you speak English, German, or Japanese, Siri will respond in the language you choose.

Would there be a popup automatically shown to a user saying to enable Apple Intelligence if our user has the toggle turned off? Just curious about how that experience looks for both us as developers and users.

I'm trying to use Apple's new Visual Intelligence API for recommending content through screenshot image search. The problem I encountered is that the SemanticContentDescriptor labels are either completely empty or super misleading, making it impossible to query for similar content on my app. Even the closest matching example was inaccurate, returning a single label ["cardigan"] for a Supreme T-Shirt. I see other apps using this API like Etsy for example, and I'm wondering if they're using the input pixel buffer to query for similar content rather than using the labels? If anyone has a similar experience or something that wasn't called out in the documentation please lmk! Thanks.
