How to use defaultSize with visionOS window restoration?
One of the most common ways to provide a window size in visionOS is to use the defaultSize scene modifier. WindowGroup(id: "someID") { SomeView() } .defaultSize(CGSize(width: 600, height: 600)) Starting in visionOS 26, using this has a side effect. visionOS 26 will restore windows that have been locked in place or snapped to surfaces. If a user has manually adjusted the size of a locked/snapped window, the users size is only restore in some cases. Manual resize respected Leaving a room and returning later Taking the headset off and putting it back on later Manual resize NOT respected Device restart. In this case, the window is reopened where it was locked, but the size is set back to the values passed to defaultSize. The manual resizing adjustments the user has made are lost. This is counter to how all other windows and widgets work. I reported this last month (FB18429638), but haven't heard back if this is a bug or intended behavior. Questions What is the best way to provide a default window size that will only be used when opening new windows–and not used during scene restoration? Should we try to keep track of window size after users adjust them and save that somewhere? If this is intended behavior, can someone please update the docs accordingly?

Screenshot using visionOS (Code) on Apple Vision Pro
I want to create a screenshot (static image) of the current view on the Apple Vision Pro using written code in visionOS. Unfortunately, I currently can’t find a way to achieve this. The only option I’ve found so far is through Reality Composer Pro. However, since I want to accomplish this directly through code, this approach is not an option for me.

DragGesture that pivots with the user in visionOS
Apple published a set of examples for using system gestures to interact with RealityKit entities. I've been using DragGesture a lot in my apps and noticed an issue when using it in an immersive space. When dragging an entity, if I turn my body to face another direction, the dragged entity does not stay relative to my hand. This can lead to situations where the entity is pulled very close to me, or pushed far way, or even ends up behind me. In the examples linked above, there are two versions of how they use drag. handleFixedDrag: This is similar to what I'm doing now. It uses the value from value.gestureValue.translation3D as the basis for the drag handlePivotDrag: This version aims to solve the problem I described above by using value.inputDevicePose3D as the basis of the gesture. I've tried the example from handlePivotDrag, but it has one limitation. Using this version, I can move the entity around me as if it were on the inside of an arc or sphere. However, I can no longer move the entity further or closer. It stays within a similar (though not exact) distance relative to me while I drag. Is there a way to combine these concepts? Ideally, I would like to use a gesture that behaves the same way that visionOS windows do. When we drag windows, I can move them around relative to myself, pull them closer, push them further, all while avoiding the issues described above. Immersive environment learning material
I really love the immersive environments, but I don’t have experience with creating them. Do you have resources or tutorials you can recommend for creating these from scratch? I’ve seen the sample projects and videos, but they usually start in the middle, assuming you already have the assets created.

Setting immerstionStyle while in immersive space breaks all entities.
I have my immersive space set up like: ImmersiveSpace(id: "Theater") { ImmersiveTeleopView() .environment(appModel) .onAppear() { appModel.immersiveSpaceState = .open } .onDisappear { appModel.immersiveSpaceState = .closed } } .immersionStyle(selection: .constant(appModel.immersionStyle.style), in: .mixed, .full) Which allows me to set the immersive style while in the space (from a Picker on a SwiftUI window). The scene responds correctly but a lot of the functionality of my immersive space is gone after the change in style; in that I am no longer able to enable/disable entities (which I also have a toggles for in the SwiftUI window). I have to exit and reenter the immersive space to regain the ability to change the enabled state of my entities. Displaying multiple immersive movies in spheres in an immersive environment
In visionOS, I'm trying to create an immersive environment which would feature several spheres in which immersive movies are visible. I'm starting from a sample code which creates a sphere, sets an immersive movie as its material, and opens it as an immersive environment. This works fine. But if I create a sphere in an open immersive environment using Reality Composer Pro and sets its material to an immersive movie, I can see the movie on the sphere while I move outside of it but if I try to get inside the sphere, it disappears. What would be the right way of doing this ?

ImagePresentationComponent .spatialStereoImmersive mode not rendering in WindowGroup context
Platform: visionOS 2.6 Framework: RealityKit, SwiftUIComponent: ImagePresentationComponent I’m working with the new ImagePresentationComponent from visionOS 26 and hitting a rendering limitation when switching to .spatialStereoImmersive viewing mode within a WindowGroup context. This is what I’m seeing: Pure immersive space: ImagePresentationComponent with .spatialStereoImmersive mode works perfectly in a standalone ImmersiveSpace Mode switching API: All mode transitions work correctly (logs confirm the component updates) Spatial content: .spatialStereo mode renders correctly in both window and immersive contexts. This is where it’s breaking for me: Window context: When the same RealityView + ImagePresentationComponent is placed inside a WindowGroup (even when that window is floating in a mixed immersive space), switching to .spatialStereoImmersive mode shows no visual change The API calls succeed, state updates correctly, but the immersive content doesn’t render. Apple’s Spatial Gallery demonstrates exactly what I’m trying to achieve: Spatial photos displayed in a window with what feels like horizontal scroll view using system window control bar, etc. Tapping a spatial photo smoothly transitions it to immersive mode in-place. The immersive content appears to “grow” from the original window position by just changing IPC viewing modes. This proves the functionality should be possible, but I can’t determine the correct configuration. So, my question to is: Is there a specific RealityView or WindowGroup configuration required to enable immersive content rendering from window contexts that you know of? Are there bounds/clipping settings that need to be configured to allow immersive content to “break out” of window constraints? Does .spatialStereoImmersive require a specific rendering context that’s not available in windowed RealityView instances? How do you think Apple’s SG app achieves this functionality? For a little more context: All viewing modes are available: [.mono, .spatialStereo, .spatialStereoImmersive] The spatial photos are valid and work correctly in pure immersive space Mixed immersive space is active when testing window context No errors or warnings in console beyond the successful mode switching logs I’m getting Any insights into the proper configuration for window-hosted immersive content

How to show only Spatial video using UIDocumentPickerViewController
Is there a suitable UTType type to satisfy the need to pick up only SpatialVideo in UIDocumentPickerViewController? I already know that PHPickerFilter in PHPickerViewController can do this, but not in UIDocumentPickerViewController. Our app needs to adapt both of these ways to pick spatial videos So is there anything that I can try in UIDocumentPickerViewController to fulfill such picker functionality?

openImmersiveSpace works as expected but never returns Result
As in the title: openImmersiveSpace works as expected. The ImmersiveSpace in the ID opens normally but the function never resolves a Result. Even dismissImmersiveSpace works normally and closes the immersive space. But a workaround seems hamfisted.

Volumetric Windwos anchores
Hi, we would like to create something where you can open multiple volumetric windows and place them in a room, our biggest issue is that we want these windows to be persistent, so when I close and reopen the app, the windows to be in the same position. We can't use immersive spaces because we also want to have the possibility to access the shared space. Is it possible with the current features and capabilities to do that? If yes do you have some advices how can we achieve this? The alternative is if is it possible to open the virtual display in immersive spaces or if we have the possibility to implement our own virtual display.

Automatically Enabling Spatial Personas in App
Is it possible to create a button in my app that will turn on the spatial personas for the user? Currently the only way I know of turning on spatial personas is by selecting the cube icon in the FaceTime window which is quite clunky for people unfamiliar with the Vision Pro's UI. Any help would be appreciated.

Implementing multi-pass rendering in VisionOS
I’m working on a Vision Pro app using Metal and need to implement multi-pass rendering. Specifically, I want to render intermediate results to a texture, then use that texture in a second pass for post-processing before presenting the final output. What’s the best approach in visionOS? Should I use multiple render passes in a single command buffer or separate command buffers? Any insights on efficiently handling this in RealityKit or Metal? Thanks!

Example: "Volumetric Windows" don't stay in place in the simulatro
I just downloaded and opened the sample code for Creating 3D models as movable windows. (Link: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/visionos/creating-a-volumetric-window-in-visionos ). I opened the main view in the simulator (canvas), placed the volumentric window somewhere and then moved the camera a bit. Expected: I would expect volumentric windows to stay in place when I place them somewhere and then move around or look in a different direction. Actually: They don't stay in place. They slightly move with the camera. Question: Is this actual behavior expected? Is this just a thing with the simulator and will not happen with real hardware?

App crashes after requesting PhotoLibrary limited access
My visionOS requires access to users' personal photos. The trigger mechanism is: when user firstly opens a FooView, a task attached to that FooView and calling let status = PHPhotoLibrary.authorizationStatus(for: .readWrite), if the status is .notDetermined, then calling PHPhotoLibrary.requestAuthorization(for: .readWrite, handler: authCompletionHandler) to let visionOS pop out a window to request Photo access. However, the app crashes every time when user selects Limited Access and the system try to pop out a photo library picker. And btw, I have set Prevent limited photos access alert to Yes, but it shouldn't affect the behavior here I guess. There was a debugger message here: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Presentations are not permitted within volumetric window scenes.'
