Source view disappearing when interrupting a zoom navigation transition
When I use the .zoom transition in a navigation stack, I get a glitch when interrupting the animation by swiping back before it completes. When doing this, the source view disappears. I can still tap it to trigger the navigation again, but its not visible on screen. This seems to be a regression in iOS 26, as it works as expected when testing on iOS 18. Has someone else seen this issue and found a workaround? Is it possible to disable interrupting the transition? SwiftData with shared and private containers
I was hoping for an update of SwiftData which adopted the use of shared and public CloudKit containers, in the same way it does for the private CloudKit container. So firstly, a big request to any Apple devs reading, for this to be a thing! Secondly, what would be a sensible way of adding a shared container in CloudKit to an existing app that is already using SwiftData? Would it be possible to use the new DataStore method to manage CloudKit syncing with a public or shared container?

Button Touch Not Canceled in ScrollView on Modal in SwiftUI for iOS 18
When displaying a view with a Button inside a ScrollView using the sheet modifier, if you try to close the sheet by swiping and your finger is touching the Button, the touch is not canceled. This issue occurs when building with Xcode 16 but does not occur when building with Xcode 15. Driving NavigationSplitView with something other than List?
Is it possible to drive NavigationSplitView navigation with a view in sidebar (left column) that is not a List? All examples that I have seen from this year only contain List in sidebar. I ask this because I would like to have a more complex layout in sidebar (or first view on iOS) that contains a mix of elements, some of them non-interactive and not targeting navigation. How to accept CloudKit shares with the new SwiftUI app lifecycle?
In the iOS 13 world, I had code like this: class SceneDelegate: UIResponder, UIWindowSceneDelegate { 		func windowScene(_ windowScene: UIWindowScene, userDidAcceptCloudKitShareWith cloudKitShareMetadata: CKShare.Metadata) { 				// do stuff with the metadata, eventually call CKAcceptSharesOperation 		} } I am migrating my app to the new SwiftUI app lifecycle, and can’t figure out where to put this method. It used to live in AppDelegate pre-iOS13, and I tried going back to that, but the AppDelegate version never gets called. There doesn’t seem to be a SceneDelegateAdaptor akin to UIApplicationDelegateAdaptor available, which would provide a bridge to the old code. So, I’m lost. How do I accept CloudKit shares with SwiftUI app lifecycle? 🙈

Keyboard Toolbar Padding iOS26
When I create a SwiftUI toolbar item with placement of .keyboard on iOS 26, the item appears directly on top of and in contact with the keyboard. This does not look good visually nor does it match the behavior seen in Apple's apps, such as Reminders. Adding padding to the contents of the toolbar item only expands the size of the item but does not separate the capsule background of the item from the keyboard. How can I add vertical padding or spacing to separate the toolbar item capsule from the keyboard?

SwiftUI - Placing ToolbarItem on .keyboard does not work
I have a regular SwiftUI View embedded inside of a NavigationStack. In this view, I make use of the .searchable() view modifier to make that view searchable. I have a button on the toolbar placed on the .confirmationAction section, which is a problem when a User types into the search bar and the button gets replaced by the SearchBar's cancel button. Thus, I conditionally place the button, depending on whether a User is searching, either on the navigationBar or on the keyboard. The latter does not work however, as the button does not show and when trying to debug the View Hierarchy, Xcode throws an error saying the View Hierarchy could not be displayed. If I set the button to be on the .bottomBar instead, it shows up perfectly and the View Hierarchy also displays with no further issue. Has someone come across this issue and if so, how did you get it fixed? Thank you in advance.

'tabViewBottomAccessory' leaves an empty accessory area when conditionally hidden
We use SwiftUI's .tabViewBottomAccessory in our iOS apps for displaying an Audio MiniPlayer View (like in the Apple Music App). TabView(selection: $viewModel.selectedTab) { // Tabs here } .tabViewBottomAccessory { if viewModel.showAudioMiniPlayer { MiniPlayerView() } } The Problem This code works perfectly on iOS 26.0. When viewModel.showAudioMiniPlayer is false, the accessory is completely hidden. However, on iOS 26.1 (23B5059e), when 'viewModel.showAudioMiniPlayer' becomes false, the MiniPlayerView disappears, but an empty container remains, leaving a blank space above the tab bar. Is this a known Bug in iOS 26.1 and are there any effective workarounds?

Swipe to go back still broken with Zoom navigation transition.
When you use .navigationTransition(.zoom(sourceID: "placeholder", in: placehoder)) for navigation animation, going back using the swipe gesture is still very buggy on IOS26. I know it has been mentioned in other places like here: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/796805?answerId=856846022#856846022 but nothing seems to have been done to fix this issue. Here is a video showing the bug comparing when the back button is used vs swipe to go back: https://imgur.com/a/JgEusRH I wish there was a way to at least disable the swipe back gesture until this bug is fixed.

iOS 26 Beta breaks scroll/gesture in SwiftUI chat (worked in iOS 18): Simultaneous gestures & ScrollViewReader issues
Hi all, After upgrading to the iOS 26 beta, the scrolling in my SwiftUI chat view is completely broken. The exact same code works perfectly on iOS 18. Context: I have a chat view using ScrollViewReader and a vertically-reversed ScrollView (with .rotationEffect(.degrees(180))). Each message row (MessageBubble) uses multiple simultaneousGesture handlers: Horizontal drag for swipe-to-reply (and other actions: pin, delete) Long press for showing popover/actions Vertical scroll for normal chat scrolling This was working great on iOS 18. In iOS 26 beta, the vertical scroll is either completely disabled, jittery, or hijacked by the message row’s drag gestures, even though .simultaneousGesture is used (see code below). iOS 16.0 beta 7 broke Text(Date(), style: .timer) in SwiftUI widgets
Hi, In my apps, the recent iOS 16.0 beta 7 (20A5356a) broke the .timer DateStyle property of the Text view, in a SwiftUI widget. In previous OS and beta, Text(Date(), style: .timer) was correctly displaying an increasing counter. In iOS 6.0 beta 7, Text(Date(), style: .timer) does not update anymore, (and is offset to the left). The other DateStyle (like .offset, .relative, ...) seems to update correctly. Anyone noticed that (very specific) problem ?

Need help with attribute inspector in Xcode 26
I am trying to learn Xcode and swift ui for a class project but the attribute inspector just does not show up, I can have the simulator open or closed I click on it nothing works. I feel so stupid. I suppose you don't need it but it helps a lot. anyone have any trouble shooting that could help?

tabViewBottomAccessory in 26.1: View's @State is lost when switching tabs
Any view that is content for the tabViewBottomAccessory API fails to retain its state as of the last couple of 26.1 betas (and RC). The loss of state happens (at least) when the currently selected tab is switched (filed as FB20901325). interactive glassEffect bug?
Applying glass effect, providing a shape isn't resulting in the provided shape rendering the interaction correctly. .glassEffect(.regular.tint(Color(event.calendar.cgColor)).interactive(), in: .rect(cornerRadius: 20)) results in properly drawn view but interactive part of it is off. light and shimmer appear as a capsule within the rect.

Widget link broken by `.desaturated` image rendering mode
Using desaturated mode on an image in a widget will break any links or buttons that use the image as their 'label'. Using the following will just open the app as if there was no link at all - therefore just using the fallback userActivity handler, or any .widgetURL() urls provided. Link(destination: URL(string: "bug://never-works")!) { Image("puppy") .widgetAccentedRenderingMode(.desaturated) } The same goes for buttons: Button(intent: MyDemoIntent()) { Image("puppy") .widgetAccentedRenderingMode(.desaturated) } I've tried hacky solutions like putting the link behind the image using a ZStack, and disabling hit testing on the image, but they don't work. iOS 26 Beta bug - keyboard toolbar with bottom safe area inset
Hello! I have experienced a weird bug in iOS 26 Beta (8) and previous beta versions. The safe area inset is not correctly aligned with the keyboard toolbar on real devices and simulators. When you focus a new textfield the bottom safe area is correctly placed aligned the keyboard toolbar. On real devices the safe area inset view is covered slightly by the keyboard toolbar, which is even worse than on the simulator. TipKit: showing a popover tip on a SwiftUI toolbar button
Hi folks, there's currently a known issue in TipKit due to which it won't show popover tips on buttons that are inside a SwiftUI ToolbarItem. For example, if you try this code, the popover tip will not appear: ToolbarItem { Button(action: {...}) { Label("Tap here", systemImage: "gear") } .popoverTip(sampleTip) } There's an easy workaround for this issue. Just apply a style to the button. It can be any style. Some examples are bordered, borderless, plain and borderedProminent. Here's a fixed version of the above code: ToolbarItem { Button(action: {...}) { Label("Tap here", systemImage: "gear") } .buttonStyle(.plain) // Adding this line fixes the issue. .popoverTip(sampleTip) } Hope this helps anyone running into this issue.

SwiftUI Slider onEditingChanged is unreliable on iOS 26
For information I stumbled upon a regression with SwiftUI Slider on iOS 26. Its onEditingChanged closure might be called twice when interaction ends, with a final Boolean incorrect value of true provided to the closure. As a result apps cannot reliably rely on this closure to detect when an interaction with the slider starts or ends. I filed a feedback under FB20283439 (iOS 26.0 regression: Slider onEditingChanged closure is unreliable).

Don’t over-engineering! No suggested architecture for SwiftUI, just MVC without the C. On SwiftUI you get extra (or wrong) work and complexity for no benefits. Don’t fight the system.

In iOS 6.0 beta 7, Text(Date(), style: .timer) does not update anymore, (and is offset to the left). The other DateStyle (like .offset, .relative, ...) seems to update correctly. Anyone noticed that (very specific) problem ?

Need help with attribute inspector in Xcode 26
I am trying to learn Xcode and swift ui for a class project but the attribute inspector just does not show up, I can have the simulator open or closed I click on it nothing works. I feel so stupid. I suppose you don't need it but it helps a lot. anyone have any trouble shooting that could help?

tabViewBottomAccessory in 26.1: View's @State is lost when switching tabs
Any view that is content for the tabViewBottomAccessory API fails to retain its state as of the last couple of 26.1 betas (and RC). The loss of state happens (at least) when the currently selected tab is switched (filed as FB20901325). interactive glassEffect bug?
Applying glass effect, providing a shape isn't resulting in the provided shape rendering the interaction correctly. .glassEffect(.regular.tint(Color(event.calendar.cgColor)).interactive(), in: .rect(cornerRadius: 20)) results in properly drawn view but interactive part of it is off. light and shimmer appear as a capsule within the rect.

Widget link broken by `.desaturated` image rendering mode
Using desaturated mode on an image in a widget will break any links or buttons that use the image as their 'label'. Using the following will just open the app as if there was no link at all - therefore just using the fallback userActivity handler, or any .widgetURL() urls provided. Link(destination: URL(string: "bug://never-works")!) { Image("puppy") .widgetAccentedRenderingMode(.desaturated) } The same goes for buttons: Button(intent: MyDemoIntent()) { Image("puppy") .widgetAccentedRenderingMode(.desaturated) } I've tried hacky solutions like putting the link behind the image using a ZStack, and disabling hit testing on the image, but they don't work. iOS 26 Beta bug - keyboard toolbar with bottom safe area inset
Hello! I have experienced a weird bug in iOS 26 Beta (8) and previous beta versions. The safe area inset is not correctly aligned with the keyboard toolbar on real devices and simulators. When you focus a new textfield the bottom safe area is correctly placed aligned the keyboard toolbar. On real devices the safe area inset view is covered slightly by the keyboard toolbar, which is even worse than on the simulator. TipKit: showing a popover tip on a SwiftUI toolbar button
Hi folks, there's currently a known issue in TipKit due to which it won't show popover tips on buttons that are inside a SwiftUI ToolbarItem. For example, if you try this code, the popover tip will not appear: ToolbarItem { Button(action: {...}) { Label("Tap here", systemImage: "gear") } .popoverTip(sampleTip) } There's an easy workaround for this issue. Just apply a style to the button. It can be any style. Some examples are bordered, borderless, plain and borderedProminent. Here's a fixed version of the above code: ToolbarItem { Button(action: {...}) { Label("Tap here", systemImage: "gear") } .buttonStyle(.plain) // Adding this line fixes the issue. .popoverTip(sampleTip) } Hope this helps anyone running into this issue.

SwiftUI Slider onEditingChanged is unreliable on iOS 26
For information I stumbled upon a regression with SwiftUI Slider on iOS 26. Its onEditingChanged closure might be called twice when interaction ends, with a final Boolean incorrect value of true provided to the closure. As a result apps cannot reliably rely on this closure to detect when an interaction with the slider starts or ends. I filed a feedback under FB20283439 (iOS 26.0 regression: Slider onEditingChanged closure is unreliable).

SwiftUI Search Bar and Scope Filters
Dear All, Recent updates in SwiftUI allow to add scope bars just beneath the search bar. Those are limited in space, though. How does one implement a scrollable filter as is seen in the Apple’s own Developer app?
