Reply to iOS Safari Extensions vs. Offload Unused Apps
We've in a very similar situation too and suspect many of our users are unwillingly churning as the app is offloading automatically because our users mainly use the extension and not the app itself. I hope we can soon get some transparency about what causes these automatic offboardings. It is about size, days of not opening the app, or whether the app does not communicate with the OS.

Reply to UrlSession with TLS client authentication
… is mTLS just not supported on watchOS? That’s my understanding based on the bug I referenced above (r. 24523955). One workaround is to use Watch Connectivity to offload this work to your iOS app, where mTLS is available. Reply to Issue with DCAppAttestService for offloaded app
@Engineer we are working on an alternative approach to renew the attestation in case of these failures. We still want to use a possession factor secured in Secure Enclave for device binding. And for that we are planning to use a PrivateKey Are you aware if this offloading issue only impacts app attestation or can the same issue happen with keys created via Secure Encalve too? Thanks

Reply to iOS 17 app storage issue
Yes there is an issue with app storage in iOS 17, The cache data is somehow not getting erased from the app resulting in apps taking too much storage space. As off now only way is to offload the app or reinstall it, but the issue keeps on occurring. Waiting a soultion from Apple in the next update ASAP.

Reply to iOS 14 bluetooth problem
same with me, I installed iOS 14 beta on my iPhone 11 Pro Max and after that it just started kicking me out of apps and randomly disconnecting bluetooth. My AirPods 2 and the Pros. I then downloaded iOS 14 and now 14.0.1 and offloaded the beta. But nothing helped. It’s really getting frustrating, especially when your on a phone call. I hope this gets resolved asap.

Reply to Does temporary removing apps to update ios changes identifierForVendor?
Despite the possible implication with this message, this action does not actually remove the apps and reinstall them. The apps are actually only offloaded, which will free up storage used by the app but keep its existence on the device. This will not result in things like identifierForVendor, push tokens, etc. changing, any app data like documents, and app settings being lost. Argun Tekant /  DTS Engineer / Core Technologies

Reply to Data flow and managed objects in SwiftUI
Okay I've cracked it open and tried out the method of passing in the data rather than the object itself by offloading to a struct. That definitely solves the issue, optically, but I need to refactor editing of deleting the item from the modal. I'm sure i'll figure it out tonight. If I get stuck again or have further questions I'll be back! Regardless, thanks DMG for the help and great ShoppingList project as a resource!

Reply to An error occurred installing iOS 13 Public Beta.
He's correct, like many have said, I went and Offloaded and removed some apps and it completed.I remembered that I had a update in iOS 11 days that did this,From my history of computers since the 90's, I think it had enough to downloa, even though I deleted and tried again - It didn't have quite enough spacevto fully extract and put all of the stuff where it needed to.This timem the screen went black for a few and it rebooted.Success!

Reply to How to receive UDP packets that have no checksum
Honestly that sounds like a bug in the driver; it seems obvious that the driver’s checksum offload should behave the same as kernel’s.I don’t know if there’s a way around this; if you want a definitive answer, you should open a DTS tech support incident and I, or one of my colleagues, can dig into it.Share and Enjoy — Quinn “The Eskimo!” Apple Developer Relations, Developer Technical Support, Core OS/Hardware let myEmail = eskimo + 1 + @apple.com

Reply to Do offloaded apps count as app deletions in App Store Connect?
>Do offloaded apps count as app deletionsAppears so, yes. I see no evidence there is a time factor, tho. From ASC Help / Metrics:Deletions: The number of times your app was deleted on devices running iOS 12.3 or tvOS 9 or later by users who agree to share their data with you. This data includes deletions of the app from the Home Screen and deletions of the app through Manage Storage. Data from resetting or erasing a device's content and settings is not included.

Reply to Cocoa Pods App not working in BGAppRefreshTask
My desired result was to monitor my pool filler That’s not really feasible to do directly from iOS. The best way to solve this problem is to stand up some separate hardware that connects to the accessory with MQTT and, when the state changes, sends a push notification to your app. That hardware would be mains-powered, which offloads the energy impact of this task from your battery-powered iPhone. Reply to Issue with DCAppAttestService for offloaded app
The issue with the keys not working when an app is offloaded/reloaded and when an app is restored from backup (or migrated to a new device) is known. It has to do with the backed up key information no longer matching the on device information after a restore. The AppAttest team is aware of this, and is working on a solution in an upcoming iOS release. In the meantime, the workaround is to follow the standard guidance when encountering key errors, and to generate a new key and attest it. Argun Tekant /  DTS Engineer / Core Technologies
