Reply to Beta Test Philosophy
Only partially correct.True, Betas tend to be battery users. Its expected. And Apple tends to fix these issues before GM.However for those who care, finding things that can improve battery life during the test phases (which tend to last a number of months) is a good thing. If you carry a test device and it runs dry early, testing (and whatever evaulation you might need) stops. Tips for beta battery life can quite effective at times. Its also the case that Apple folks monitor these forums, and may see info that gives them more insight on how to improve both the betas and upcoming GM. Like every other software firm since the start of time, Apple makes mistakes. A major reason for beta testing is gaining insight from the results of the thousands of testers that run the code thorugh countless situations they never find.

Watch 4 OS 6 Beta 4 Battery Life?
Whole up at 5:30am and watch battery was completely drained. 100% charge about 22 hours before that. No unusual activity unless I somehow activated something very draining while I was asleep. Only thing specifically related to sleep on the watch is a sleep monitoring app that's been on there since Watch 4 canme out. I've never had my watch go below low 40% range in 24 hours. I'll monitor today and tonight.

Reply to iPhone 6s plus, iOS 9.1 beta 3 severe battery drain
Same here on build 13B5130b on an iPhone 6. Beta 2 was functioning great however with the move to beta 3 last week my battery immediately took a huge hit, my phone would last consistently all day (6am until 11pm) is dead at 6pm, My apple watch will last no longer than 4-5pm each day, and I would usually end the day with a 10% charge around 11pm. As close as I can tell, the apple watch mail app is killing the battery life. I am going to disable it and see if life returns. This is the first time in recent memory I was frustrated with running beta software. Painful.

Pencilkit custom pen
I want to create a brush similar to a fountain pen, with a three-dimensional feel to the strokes and a distinct tip. Alternatively, is it possible to achieve this by modifying the configuration parameters of a fountain pen brush?

I would think this build is the GM. (We're only a few weeks before public release.)I reported this as a bug and received the response: Engineering has determined that this issue behaves as intended.Perhaps Apple decided to scrap the feature? Battery life perhaps?Would like clarity, confirmation from Apple here

Reply to Debug Code in Betas
You'd think that after all these years, betas and batteries would be such a dead and buried horse that no one could find another angle on the topic...Battery life as a beta topic has always been rooted in priorities....Apple disables power management during betas at certain times so they can short list/focus other functions, then restores it later. That why betas don't compare to trimmed out Release versions. No mystery backgrounding that kneecaps the battery.

I believe the beta servers two (2) functions:1. To test one's applications against the new software.2. To help Apple with the development of the beta software.Apple has made a bug reporter for a reason. If they were so intent on a beta being used only to test one's apps, they would not ask for feedback / reports regarding the software. Also, this is more than a battery life issue...it's an actual battery drain that is more excessive than in the past. I've used several iOS beta 1s and I've almost never felt the need to downgrade because of such poor battery life which caused me to recharge more than once per day.I think we can all agree that betas will have slight battery issues, but it's something worth talking about when it's drain which doesn't even allow you to get past half a day in most cases.

Reply to Cannot update to Watch iOS 4 Beta
Make sure the watch is at 100% battery life and on the charger. Seemed to work for me after doing that.

ios 13.2 beta 2 battery life on iphone7 to 8 seems to be kinda bad. it dies very quickly.
I recently downloaded iOS 13.2 Beta on my iPhone 7, and the battery life was one big problem. I opened twitter, (the phone was at 100) and it dropped to 78%.

Reply to Any major issues in WatchOS 2 Beta 3
Battery life is definitely better than Beta 2, but is still worse than 1.0.1. I used to sleep at night with 25% of battery and nowadays I'm getting 8%. Hopefully this will be improved until GM.

Reply to Solutions for Better Battery Life on Beta 1 - Confirmed for Mult. Devices
Just had a 15% drop in battery during a 45 min tube journey whilst listening to Music even in airplane mode. Does anyone know if there is any research on the new Musinc App degrading battery life?
