Handoff and airplay is not working after updating BigSur 11.0.1.

My handoff/airplay devices are iPad Pro 2020(iPadOS 14.2),iPhone X(iOS 14.2),MacBook Pro2019 (Big Sur11.0.1) and apple tv.
iPad Pro and iPhone X can detect handoff from each other;But they both can't detect handoff from MacBook Pro(Big Sur11.0.1).
Same case in airplay. But it can detect apple tv.
I've tried all troubleshooting in all devices.

SOLUTION

Pair via bluetooth your iPad Pro with your Mac with Big Sur
When they are connected go to System Preferences > Sidecar and you should be able to see the iPad pro and use it as extended monitor

(if your Mac and iPad are paired via bluetooth you need to "forget the device" in both devices and pair them again)

I hope this helps
I had the problem with Handoff and Continuity not working between my MacBook Pro and iPhone and fixed it.

Turning off Handoff/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, restarting and turning them on did not work, even when I did it to both devices. I did not want to log out of iCloud since it would take so long to resync all my docs/etc.

But when I opened Bluetooth settings on both devices, my iPhone showed up on my Mac and I connected it to pair them. Immediately Handoff and Continuity started working again.

I have the same issue. Nothing of the iCloud features works on my mac after an update to macOS Big Sur (11.0.1)

I tried to turn on/off wi-fi, bluetooth, tried to forget and re-pair my Macbook and iPhone but it didn't help.

Features those doesn't work for me:
Universal clipboard;
Unlock with Apple Watch;
Handoff;
iPhone in the list of networks and connection to family iCloud devices.

Also when I try to re-enable Watch unlock settings says
"Your Mac was unable to communicate with your Apple Watch.
Make sure your Apple Watch is unlocked, on your wrist and powered on."
and the feature doesn't turns on.

Same issue, handoff and sidecar weren't working.

A collection of the steps above and my experience:

Sign out of icloud on each device (ipad, mac etc..), upon resigning in a new security setup has been designed (input pin/password for multiple devices). Then recheck map my... on each device - make sure its on (with location services). Forget devices bluetooth and then reconnect (make sure bluetooth connect between devices is maintained - not auto disconnecting).

Go onto icloud on each device and make sure you can see your device list (if its loading or unavailable that will lead to handoff/sidecar not working) - fix that on all devices after the resigning.

Hope this helps some...
After updating to Big Sur I was not able to connect to my Apple TV from my iMac. Nor was I able to use Air Drop. I uninstalled Norton Security which is a part of my Comcast package on my iMac. Everything works fine now after uninstalling Norton Security.
Same problem here. After the update I am unable to connect to the SmartTV here on campus via Airplay. Or with any device.
Please fix this soon.
Same problem.
Apple Mac Mini computer with the new Apple Silicon M1 processor and Big Sur 11.0.1, I try to connect it by Airplay to duplicate the screen, the computer detects the TV but the Sony television turns black screen and nothing is seen, nor duplicates anything.
With the same television, a week ago, I was using a Mac Mini from the end of 2012 and it worked perfectly. And today with another Macbook Air computer from 2014 and an iPhone from 2018 it works perfectly.
Hello,
In order to solve the existing HandOff problem currently experience by many users maybe after the update to Mac OS Big Sur. However in my case it suffices when I just open the note App on my MacBook Pro 2018 and simple inserted a photo from my iPhone 11 Pro Max using the build in function that is taking a photo from the iPhone that is directly inserted in the Note app. After this was done I found out my Mac and my iPhone had Handoff working properly again as before the update. May this could help a few.

Same issue. Handoff is so broken on Big Sur.
I am trying to connect my mini projector to my iMac through Airplay like I've always been able to do before I upgraded to Big Sur. Now my mac doesn't recognize it. It only recognizes Apple TV, which I don't even have. How do I fix this?
Yeah, same for me. Mine doesn't work between my iPhone X and MacBook Pro after the Big Sur update.
Same issue here. As of now 12/11/2020 the handoff (take picture, scan document, safari webpage from iPhone on MacOS, etc) feature between the iPhone 12 Pro and the MacBook Air M1 with Big Sur is not working! Get your stuff together APPLE! Who is the incompetent employee that's not even testing those things before releasing the update?!
Same here, after upgrading my MacBook Air 2020 to Big Sur I can't connect to my Samsung TV.
iPhone have no problem to connect.

Please solve this issue ASAP
me too, continuity and handoff can not be use, but airdrop is ok.
Yes this also is happening to me. Curious if there is an answer.
Highly awaited the Big Sur update to address loss of screen mirroring(airplay) on my MacBook Pro. Sadly same problem exists!!!!!!
Same issue .....

on Notes app: > New Note > Rt click > insert from iPhone > take a Photo from my phone and voila in the same note was working everything fine again.

Thanks

same issue here, new m1 Mac mini. airdrop was working perfectly for a short while then stopped working halfway through doing a task. I was having to download photos to my phone then airdrop them onto the Mac mini because apparently google drive does not work with the new silicon chip either- neither do my 3 printers, keyboard, backup drive, webcam- soooooo many issues!! really wishing I hadn't traded in my intel MacBook Pro for this garbage. I honestly don't understand why the m1s were released when the world was clearly not ready for them.
Same issue ((((
I am having a similar problem, e.g., a short time after updating to Big Sur 11.1, I found I could no longer AirDrop a Photo from my iPhone 8 to my Macbook Air. I select a photo, select the share icon, select the AirDrop icon. But when I select my Macbook (the only device listed), it simply shows that it is "Waiting" and eventually it gives up. I have tried everything mentioned in this thread, to no avail.
I resolved my problem. Not only had I recently updated to Big Sur, I also had recently began using ExpressVPN. After turning off the VPN, AirDrop became immediately available.
Handoff and airplay is not working after updating BigSur 11.0.1.
