iOS 14.5 + Safari (normal or TP) - Web Inspector ONLY shows Console, Sources and Audit, no Elements, Network, etc.

Yeah as the title says. I just updated to Big Sur 11.4 and I'm developing an Ionic-based app that used to be able to be debugged using Safari's Web Inspector.

Now it doesn't work at all, I'm not even getting console messages, it's like a dummy window or something that's not attached to the iOS device (even though it's spawned from the Develop -> Simulator -> localhost entry.

It only shows Console, Sources and Audit, which sucks.

Any ideas? I have a deadline real soon and this crap not working isn't good for nothing. Thanks Apple.
  • Same here. Is there a better place to report this issue?

Same problem with the same frustration here. I am on:
  • macOS: Catalina 10.15.7

  • Safari: Version 14.1.1 (15611.2.7.1.6, 15611)

  • Simulator: Version 12.4 (940.20), SimulatorKit 597.13.0.1, CoreSimulator 732.18.6

Same here, only for debugging cordova app.
It’s the same here, using it to debug Cordova apps too.
Same problem here, web Inspector only shows Console, Sources, Audit, and all these tabs are also not working. I'm developing an ionic+capacitor-based app.
  • Xcode: Version 12.5 (12E262)

  • Safari Preview: Release 124 (Safari 14.2, WebKit 16612.1.11.10)

  • Safari: Version 14.1.1 (16611.3.2.1.1)

  • macOS: Bis Sur Beta 11.5 (Enrolled in the Apple Developer Seed Program)

    • Same problem while I'm on Big Sur 11.4

Same problem with Simulator and connected device:
  • macOS 11.4

  • Simulator Version 12.5 (961.1) (iOS 14.5, iOS 13.7)

  • iPhone XS 14.4.2

  • Safari 14.2, WebKit 16612.1.11.10

Same problem with real device:
macOS 11.4
iPhone XR 14.4.2
Safari 14.1.1 (16611.2.7.1.4)
I just updated to Big Sur 11.4 last night as well and I am also experiencing this exact same problem. The iOS is also the latest version that was updated last night.

What is also weird is that we have hooks into a third party messenger which are no longer appearing on pages, thus the reason why I was trying to access the inspector. It works fine on Safari on Mac and other browsers and systems, just not on iOS safari. I wonder if it's related.
Same here. Safari dev-tools are broken for simulators since today's OS-update.

macOS 11.4
Simulator 12.5
@darkguy2008, I think this would get more visibility and traction if you update the title to this post to something like:

iOS 14.5/MacOS 11.4 - Latest Updates Are Breaking Safari Web Inspector and Dev Tools
Same here, was working until I upgraded to Big Sur.
Doesn't work on physical device or simulator in Safari or Safari Technology Preview.

macOS 11.4
iPhone 12 Pro 14.5.1
Simulator: 12.5 (961.1)
Safari 14.1.1 (16611.2.7.1.4)
Safari Technology Preview Release 124 (Safari 14.2, WebKit 16612.1.11.10)

Also worth noting is that even though Console, Sources and Audit appear, there's no data in Console ever. Which makes debugging impossible.

And it's not just an Ionic / Cordova app, it's using Web Inspector to inspect any website. So it's remote web debugging that is broken completely.

I have the same issue !!!!
Mac OS 10.15.7
iOS 14.4 simulator
I have the same issue !

macOS: Catalina 10.15.7(19H1217)
Safari: 14.1.1 (15611.2.7.1.6, 15611)
XCode: Version 12.0.1 (12A7300)
iOS Simulator: 14.0
Same issue here.
Big Sur 11.4
Safari 14.1.1
Xcode 12.5
Also tried with Safari TP 124 but I see the same behaviour.
I tried with a couple of devices on 14.6 and multiple simulators even with older iOS versions, is not only a problem of WKWebViews inside apps, even sites opened in Safari on iOS cannot be inspected.

It is working on an old Mac I was able to access for a test with Safari 13.1, macOS 10.15.7 and Xcode 12.2
Device update to iOS 14.6 has NOT fixed the issue for me.
Same issue...

macOs 11.4 (20F71)
