IOS 18 Dev Beta 3 Volume Slider Bug.

Has anyone else had this problem? I’ve had it on iOS 18 Dev beta 3 where I can’t move the volume slider for certain apps. I found a workaround, but it’s a bit tedious and has to be redone every time I restart my device. Here are the steps:

  1. Go to Accessibility.
  2. Turn on Sound Recognition.
  3. Click on any of the options under Sound Recognition.
  4. Turn off Sound Recognition.

After that, the volume slider will work like normal. But, like I said, this only works until the next restart.

The Developer Forums aren't really the right place to raise bugs in a new version of an OS. Apple's engineers aren't reading through these pages to see if anyone's found a bug.

These forums are for third-party developers writing apps for Apple's platforms to discuss issues with their code.

You need to raise each issue you find separately at https://www.apple.com/feedback/ You can post the FB numbers here if you want, so that others can link to them.

Thanks for just asking this question here! I was having the same problem and you saved my bacon!

Thanks! Your workaround brought back the missing 'Find My iPhone' sound. Very convenient when the iPhone is in an unknown place!

Just to be clear this fix doesn't work for ios 18.3 only ios 18.0.3
