For the past week, the operating system has become unresponsive with no prior notice (nor can I provide actionable reproduction steps). The screen hangs, and the only thing that remains working is the home button haptic response. After a minute or so of this behavior, the OS dumps and I see the black screen+grey spinner soft boot. I’m also not able to purchase anything from the App Store. Is anyone else experiencing this behavior? 7+ , iOS 11 developer beta 3
Soft crash every few minutes
This has been a constant annoyance for me as well since I installed beta 3. I went to go test some of the theories suggested above, and turned to the YouTube app - one of the most common sources of the soft crash for me. Wouldn't you know it, I can't seem to reproduce it at all anymore. I went to the App Store to see if it had been recently updated, and it had been updated today. Wondering if they discovered something and added it as a unpublished fix in this release. Anybody else noticed better performance following the app update?
I have been trying this for the past few days as well. It has seemed to greatly reduce the number of soft resets for my iPhone7. I still get a couple a day instead of a couple an hour.
Same here, 7 Plus. Tough to replicate but it seems to happen after using the Apple Camera app...but not every time.
Same here. Also the top status bar will just disappear, and I have to perform a hard restart
Same problem on my 7+. It's driving me nuts. sometimes it seems to get better after killing all open apps, but not always. Hope they address it in the next beta release...
This is also happening to me as well. Alot of the apps lag or cause my phone to restart constantly
You mention battery life. I almost forgot to mention that the battery life ***** when running beta 3. Another issue to be address in beta 4.
Same is happening for me on 7+ Screen rotation seems to make it happen. Is seems like there is a huge memory drain happening when I remote my phone. Soft crash’s happen about every few mins nothing else is open. If I have more then one app open it soft reboots non stop. Battery life has had a major impact as well.
Yup. Same issue. I wish they would have released another Beta last week rather than waiting until this upcoming week to fix this. I like running the betas on my everyday phone but I’m losing a lot of time to this one. Locked my screen rotation to try and avoid it but it still happens occasionally.
Ditto. But only when doing things such as web based usage either Safari, or an app doing a lot of web stuff, and Messages and Mail, so core tools pretty much.
Seven plus iOS 11 beta 3. Same response. Facebook and several other apps freeze and reboot necessary. Very slow and eats up battery. Hope beta 4 fixes it...
