I know it was briefly mentioned that user feedback is an excellent way to grow inclusivity in the design an app and utilizing these forums were one for example. Is inviting folks here on the forum via test flight a reasonable approach to this for a solo developer? Are there other strategies, avenues, or examples to promote user feedback?

The app uses AVSpeechSynthesizer and several third party speech engines. How best to do this? I have a product for designing particle emitters, which I suspect may be of limited interest to people with limited vision. I'd still like to ensure I'm doing a good job with VoiceOver mode. We could discuss this in more detail, but to respect your time, I’ll get straight to the point: I have retinitis pigmentosa, a rare retinal disease for which there is currently no treatment. This condition causes a progressive narrowing of the visual field (potentially leading to blindness) and a deficit in photoreceptors (let’s just say I’m not exactly a night owl). In my case, it has become impossible to go out alone in the dark or even see in dim light. (Goodbye evening parties—I can’t even find the entrance to a nightclub, let alone navigate the dance floor!). However, I’ve discovered that sometimes, simply looking through my phone screen and using its brightness helps me see much better. Over the years, I’ve imagined how amazing it would be if a pair of glasses could simply display the image my eyes are supposed to perceive, but with enhanced brightness. It would allow me to live my life as freely as others, whether that’s venturing out at night or finding that elusive pen lost in the depths of my apartment. I initially looked into the Google Glass project, for example, but it pales in comparison to what Apple is now creating, don’t you think? What amuses me most is that what some see as a tool that isolates users from reality could actually become an inclusion device for people like me, who would use it to go out and engage with the world. (I can’t count how many times I’ve gone home early in winter because of the anxiety caused by the early darkness, or turned down after-work gatherings with my DevOps colleagues.) The Vision Pro could simply restore reality for us by enhancing what has been progressively lost. And that’s just for nighttime! At present, in iOS, if using the in-house app, there may be crashes in the new iOS 18.3 and later versions, but it works normally on other phones and the certificate is not problematic. A total of 3 machines were found, and there was no pattern between the machines and the system, with different models and versions. We tested it on a machine that crashes, but the app downloaded from the store doesn't. If the same app is packaged and installed directly in the development tool, it will crash. Is this related to compatibility with the new version of IOS? Is there a solution? Do others also have relevant situations?

It appears iOS only comes with low quality voices installed. iOS requires the user to go into settings to download higher quality voices to be used with AVSpeechUtterance. There doesn't seem to be any api that can be used to make this process easier for the app user. Is there a way / api that would allow an app to download and use a higher quality voice? Will apple ever install on default higher quality voices? We really want to use the text to speech api in iOS however the very high amount of user friction to use high quality voices is stopping us. Using the floating keyboard extensively. Often It starts to jump up and down. I have to pinch out to see the large version and pinch in again to restore the floating version. Sometimes just touching a key sets it off. Sometimes returning to a window from which the keyboard is displayed starts the issue. This was never a problem in ipad os 18.

While editing the search text using the external keyboard (with VoiceOver on), if I try to navigate the to List using the keyboard, the focus jumps back to the search field immediately, preventing selection of list items. It's important to note that the voiceover navigation alone without a keyboard works as expected. It’s as if the List never gains focus—every attempt to move focus lands back on the search field. I'm reposting here my FB17602742, submitted yesterday: The strong wording of this message comes from years of Apple ignoring the needs of users who can't tolerate UI animations and convulsions. At this point, it's clear that Apple is either intentionally harming users like me or simply doesn't care about meeting even the most basic accessibility standards on macOS. Yes, many UI animations and convulsions can, fortunately, be disabled - but not through straightforward UI controls. Instead, users are forced to look for obscure Terminal commands found scattered across the Internet. The "Reduce motion" checkbox in System Settings is simply a fake control that doesn't do anything - instead of actually disabling all UI animations and convulsions. What's worse, two of the most offensive UI animations cannot be disabled at all. Apple has consistently dismissed requests to let users disable the following UI animations: Scroll bar rollover highlight effect (introduced on macOS 10.7.3). Every time the cursor passes over a scroll bar, it gets highlighted. This draws the user's attention to random scroll bars for no reason - just because the cursor happened to pass over them. It results in HUNDREDS of unnecessary, annoying events of distraction daily!
 Expand/collapse animation of NSOutlineView (e.g., when opening/closing folders in the list view in the Finder, or any other app using outline views). This animation is extremely distracting, irritating, and time-wasting. Global Accessibility Awareness Day is approaching. Dear Apple, Please adhere to the most basic accessibility standards.
