ApplePay: Flexible payments/scheduling
On Applepay's docs it talks about the ability to do "flexible" payments and scheduling for future purchases. We need to be able to make only a single approval of an Apple payment for multiple submissions later on. Think, deferred payments at an arbitrary schedule without presenting the ApplePay dialog each and every time. The docs suggest that may be possible, but are maddeningly vague on how to do that. Is it possible or not? Can we store an approved merchant's token for example and leverage that for future transactions?

Apple Pay - PKAddPaymentPassViewController doesn't show correct list of devices
Hi, We are trying to make the PKAddPaymentPassViewController to show the correct list of devices to where the pass can be added. We have analysed the documentation and we are using the PrimaryAccountIdentifier field which is the field that supposedly controls this behavior but the list of devices presented in the view controller always include one iPhone and one Apple Watch, regardless of where the card has been already added. We are initializing the PKAddPaymentPassRequestConfiguration object with: PKEncryptionScheme PrimaryAccountIdentifier CardholderName PrimaryAccountSuffix LocalizedDescription PaymentNetwork PrimaryAccountIdentifier CardholderName PrimaryAccountSuffix LocalizedDescription We have also verified the configuration in our payment pass processor and everything should be ok. We would like to have some help on achieving the desired flow for Apple Pay, which is to present the PKAddPaymentPassViewController with the correct list of available devices and not the full list. Thank you.

Renewal of merchant Domains fails and redirects to main page without errors
Hello we are trying to renew our certificates. We are trying to extend the dates of verified domains following the docs https://developer.apple.com/documentation/applepayontheweb/maintaining-your-environment#Renew-Your-Domain-Verification and configure our server with https://developer.apple.com/documentation/ApplePayontheWeb/setting-up-your-server We've downloaded the apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.txt and update it on their respective locations, click 'ok' button but we get redirected to the main page of the information of the merchant, and it shows the domains without the extending period of time. No popup showing what has failed or what could be the reason of this error, we only get a redirection to the main page.

Approve with Side Button' is not displayed
When accessing https://applepaydemo.apple.com/payment-request-api, the "Approve with Side Button" prompt is displayed, but it does not appear when using our test domain. I implemented the Payment Request API based on the sample source code from the following URL. On an iPhone device, the Apple Pay payment screen is displayed, but the "Approve with Side Button" icon below the amount does not appear, and instead a spinning loading icon is shown continuously. Could you please help identify the cause? ■ Reference URL: https://applepaydemo.apple.com/payment-request-api ■ Changed parameter: "merchantIdentifier": "〇〇.dev" ■ Accessed domain: 〇〇test.com ■ Test device: iPhone 13 iOS: 18.4.1

NotSupportedError, The payment method is not supported
What am I missing in my checking for whether or not to offer Apple Pay on my website? <script async crossorigin src="https://applepay.cdn-apple.com/jsapi/v1.1.0/apple-pay-sdk.js" ></script> ... <style> apple-pay-button { display: none; } </style> ... <apple-pay-button buttonstyle="black" type="plain" locale="en-US" onclick="startApplePay('${APPLE_PAY_MERCHANT_ID}','${paymentForm.amount}');"></apple-pay-button> So, the button is not displayed by default. I only change the style to displayed if: window.onload = function() { if (isApplePaySupported()) { document.querySelector("apple-pay-button").style.display = "inline-block"; }; } function isApplePaySupported() { return (window.PaymentRequest && window.ApplePaySession && ApplePaySession.canMakePayments() && ApplePaySession.supportsVersion(applePayVersion)); } Yet, once in a while a click comes through that tries to create a PaymentRequest with const applePayMethod = { "supportedMethods": "https://apple.com/apple-pay", "data": { "version": applePayVersion, "merchantIdentifier": merchantIdentifier, "merchantCapabilities": [ "supports3DS" ], "supportedNetworks": [ "amex", "discover", "masterCard", "visa" ], "countryCode": "US" } }; and results in: NotSupportedError, The payment method is not supported What else might be "not supported" in the request for this particular user/device/wallet? In particular, that could be known immediately when the PaymentRequest is created, but before any payment instrument from the wallet is selected? And, is there anything I could detect before showing the button? Or, is it even possible for the button to be clicked by some kind of automation, even if it's not displayed?

Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Wallet Issues
Hi, To ensure the issue is not caused by an error within your app or web service request, please review the following documentation: Wallet Passes Wallet Developer Guide If the resources above don’t help identify the cause of the error, please provide more information about your app or web services to get started. To prevent sending sensitive credentials in plain text, create a report in Feedback Assistant to share the details requested below. Additionally, if the error is something we need to investigate further, the appropriate engineering teams also have access to the same information and can communicate with you directly within Feedback Assistant for more information, as needed. Please follow the instructions below to submit your report. For issues occurring with your native app or web service, perform the following steps: Install the Wallet profile on your iOS or watchOS device. Reproduce the issue and make a note of the timestamp when the issue occurred, while optionally capturing screenshots or video. Gather a sysdiagnose on the same iOS or watchOS device. Create a Feedback Assistant report with the following information: The serial number of the device. Open Settings > General > About > Serial Number (tap and hold to copy). The SEID (Secure Element Identifier) of the device, represented as a HEX encoded string. Open Settings > General > About > SEID (tap and hold to copy). The sysdiagnose gathered after reproducing the issue. The .pkpass file(s), pass signing certificate(s) and pass type identiifier(s) (optional). The timestamp of when the issue was reproduced. Screenshots or videos of errors and unexpected behaviors (optional). Important: From the logs gathered above, you should be able to determine the cause of the failure from PassbookUIService, PassKit or PassKitCore, and by filtering for your SEID or pass type identifier in the Safari Web Inspector. See Inspecting Safari on macOS to learn more. Submitting your feedback Before you submit to Feedback Assistant, please confirm the requested information above is included in your feedback. Failure to provide the requested information will only delay my investigation into the reported issue within your Wallet pass implementation. After your submission to Feedback Assistant is complete, please respond in your existing Developer Forums post with the Feedback ID. Once received, I can begin my investigation and determine if this issue is caused by an error within your web implementation, a configuration issue within your developer account, or an underlying system bug. Cheers, Paris X Pinkney |  WWDR | DTS Engineer

New apple pay in PC chrome dosn't work with iOS 18
I've encountered an issue with Apple Pay in PC Chrome with iOS 18. Below is the scenario and code for reference: Issue Scenario: A button is clicked to initiate the Apple Pay process. A QR code window pops up, which I scan with my phone. As soon as the session is established, the window closes immediately, not allowing the user to select a payment card. No errors appear in the console. Here's the code snippet for handling the Apple Pay button click: const onApplePayButtonClicked = () => { if (!window.ApplePaySession) { return; } log('Apple Pay button clicked'); const request = { countryCode: 'UA', currencyCode: 'UAH', merchantCapabilities: ['supports3DS'], supportedNetworks: ['visa', 'masterCard'], total: { label: 'PoC Merchant Apple Pay', type: 'final', amount: amount.toString(), }, }; const session = new window.ApplePaySession(3, request); session.onvalidatemerchant = async (event) => { try { log('Creating ApplePaySession'); const response = await fetchAppleSessionAPI(event.validationURL, applePayMercantId, { deviceId, refreshToken }); log('validateMerchantResponse', response); session.completeMerchantValidation(response.applePaySessionData); } catch (error) { log('validateMerchantError', error); } }; session.onshippingmethodselected = () => { const newTotal = { label: 'PoC Merchant Apple Pay', type: 'final', amount: amount.toString(), }; session.completeShippingMethodSelection(window.ApplePaySession.STATUS_SUCCESS, {}, newTotal); }; session.onpaymentauthorized = async (event) => { log('onpaymentauthorized', event); const result = { status: window.ApplePaySession.STATUS_SUCCESS, }; session.completePayment(result); log('TOKEN', event.payment.token); }; session.begin(); }; Troubleshooting Steps Taken: Verified that window.ApplePaySession is available. Checked for any console errors—none found. Confirmed that the QR code scanning and session initiation work as expected. Expected Behavior: After scanning the QR code and establishing the session, the user should be able to select a payment card and proceed with the payment flow. Current Behavior: The window closes immediately after the session is established, preventing card selection. Has anyone else faced this issue or has insights on how to resolve it? Thanks in advance!

Urgent: Reports of Duplicate Charges via AlipayHK on Apple Pay
We’ve recently observed an escalating number of complaints from AlipayHK users regarding duplicate charges when completing transactions via Apple Pay. While no similar issues have been reported by users of other credit card providers integrated with Apple Pay, the problem appears isolated to AlipayHK transactions. Key Details: Multiple users confirm being charged twice for single transactions. Complaints are increasing in frequency, indicating a potential systemic issue. No overlapping reports from non-AlipayHK payment methods at this time. To safeguard customer trust and ensure seamless payment experiences, we kindly request Apple’s support in: Investigating whether the root cause stems from Apple Pay’s transaction handling. Collaborating with AlipayHK (if necessary) to resolve the issue promptly. Providing guidance on interim measures to prevent further duplicate charges. Could Apple confirm if this is a known issue and share a timeline for resolution? We’re eager to assist in any way possible to mitigate impact on users. Thank you for your urgent attention to this matter.

How to use Extended Virtual Addressing and Increased Memory Limit services correctly?
During the development of our 3D game project, we encountered high memory usage requirements. To address this, we enabled Apple’s Extended Virtual Addressing (EVA) and Increased Memory Limit services. We have confirmed that both services were enabled in the developer backend as well as in Xcode, and we also used updated development and distribution certificates when building the app. However, in our validation process, it seems that EVA and Increased Memory Limit are not taking effect — the game still experiences memory overflow and crashes. Could you please advise: The correct steps to properly use Extended Virtual Addressing and Increased Memory Limit; How we can confirm whether these services are functioning as expected?

Types Payment
I have a project, and it basically works by posting real estate. And users can pay to upload their real estate ads. My question is this: my client wants to use the Pagseguro api to make these payments. Can I use this payment method with you too? Or do I need to integrate your own payment?

Unable to Complete In-App Provisioning – Error 40456 on enable Endpoint
Hello, I am developing an Apple Pay and In-App Provisioning integration for the bank where I work. All entitlements are properly configured, and we are integrated correctly with our Payment Network Operator (PNO). We are using PKAddPaymentPassViewControllerDelegate to handle the provisioning process. The flow progresses as expected up to the Terms and Conditions screen. However, after accepting the terms, the process fails with the message: "Could not add card." Upon checking the device logs using the Wallet profile configuration, I observed the following response from Apple's backend: Response: https://nc-pod10-smp-device.apple.com:443/broker/v4/devices/041315032816900221610987313158566F368A9CEBA1291E/cards/745f792b9d0644e5a6e713d54f505296/enable 500 Time profile: 1.80458 seconds { x-conversation-id = "6ec59a63424f4035915e32f22ea645e4" Vary = "accept-language" Content-Type = "application/json" x-pod = "nc-pod10" x-keystone-correlationid = "E3DD5A5A-FD18-4500-8570-2BD1334E281C" Date = "Thu, 17 Apr 2025 07:05:03 GMT" x-apay-service-response-details = "via_upstream" Content-Length = "49" x-envoy-upstream-service-time = "964" x-pod-region = "paymentpass.com.apple" } { errorCode = 40456; statusCode = 500; } This seems to indicate that the card enablement step is failing on the server side. Our internal systems have not logged any request failure from Apple at this step, which makes it difficult to pinpoint whether the issue is in the PNO integration, entitlement configuration, or something else. We are currently testing in a production environment on a physical device (not using sandbox), and provisioning flows are initiated through our iOS app using PKAddPaymentPassRequest. Could you please help us interpret error code 40456 and identify what steps we should take to resolve this issue? If needed, we can also provide the full device log and additional details. Thank you in advance for your support. Best regards, Mansur Bagwan

Extension merchant sertificate
Hi. I am writing to request clarification regarding the renewal period of the merchant certificate. According to the documentation, Apple issues merchant certificates for 25 months, and this has been the case for several years. However, in the past six months, the issued certificates have been valid for only 3 months, which causes significant inconvenience. I have reviewed the documentation again and contacted support, but I was only referred back to the same information stating that the certificate should be valid for 25 months. Could you please clarify whether there have been any recent changes to the renewal policy? Additionally, is there a way to extend the certificate's validity to the expected 25-month period? I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue.

Payment from pass from wallet
Hi, I want to develop the fastest payment method for my user and preferably without the user also having a mobile app. The dream is that it happens as easily as possible when the user/guest scans a pass from the wallet. Hopefully the user just has to approve on the screen. Can I attach card details/payment methods to a pass in the wallet? Right now it is a unique QR code for each user, but can I change the pass type to 'tansit', 'loyalty' or 'membership'? My system right now: The customer/guest registers on a website and creates a pass and downloads it to the wallet. The store has a PWA app to scan the customer's/guest's items. My goal: The guest just scans the pass in the wallet and makes the transaction. Dont need an app or go back to the website/login where the person created the pass for the wallet.

Merchant validation error on Apple Pay payment processing
Hi, I'm developer in fintech company, we have setup process for onboarding merchants for our partner and processing payments with usage of Apple Pay API. Daily system is processing ca. 10k payments but every day ca. 100 of transactions are declined because of merchant validation error: request to https://apple-pay-gateway.apple.com/paymentservices/paymentSession (with all required parameters in body) is returning response with status code 417 "statusMessage": "Payment Services Exception merchantId={root merchant id} unauthorized to process transactions on behalf of merchantId={merchant id hash} reason={merchant id hash} is not a registered merchant in WWDR and isn't properly authorized via Mass Enablement, either." Issue impacts recurring merchants, most of their transactions are processed successfully but randomly some of them are failing with such reason. All prerequisites are met: merchant have deployed 'apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association' certificate, certificates are valid and not expired. Apple Support is not able to provide any information based on provided requests timestamps. We would to know what may be the reason just part of the requests are failing and what 417 error code means.
