What am I missing in my checking for whether or not to offer Apple Pay on my website?

So, the button is not displayed by default. I only change the style to displayed if:

What else might be "not supported" in the request for this particular user/device/wallet? In particular, that could be known immediately when the PaymentRequest is created, but before any payment instrument from the wallet is selected?
And, is there anything I could detect before showing the button?
Or, is it even possible for the button to be clicked by some kind of automation, even if it's not displayed?

I am working on implementing merchant token notifications. When calling this endpoint https://developer.apple.com/documentation/merchanttokennotificationservices/merchant-token-event-retrieval, the result contains a CardMetadata object with an expirationDate field (see https://developer.apple.com/documentation/merchanttokennotificationservices/cardmetadata). What is the format of this field? The spec only mentions that it has a maximum length of 8 characters.
When I use my iPhone to scan the apple pay QR code in chrome, the url is https://applepaydemo.apple.com/apple-pay-js-api, I keep geting the "Service Unavailable" error.
Wonder know if you guys meet this error as well? Btw, the QR code feature needs IOS 18.
To perform the integration, it must be done under the same domain that has been validated. Is it not possible to do it in a local environment?
Could that be the reason why I can't display the button or complete the validation with the API?

I am setting up a feature for my company's banking app that allows users to add their payment/debit card they have with us to the Apple Wallet on their device. We have the in-app provisioning entitlement setup and configured in the app and configured with our banking partner/TSP. We are able to manually provision production environment cards via the Wallet app.
I am using test card data from my TSP. I send them the two certificates, nonce, and nonce signature data and am given activationData, encryptedPassData, and an ephmeralPublicKey that we then set on an instance of PKAddPaymentPassRequest. We call the handler on the delegate method that is called with that request object and get an error:
The operation couldn’t be completed. (PKPassKitErrorDomain error 2.)
Looking at the PassKit library shows this is PKUnsupportedVersionError - Unsupported pass version.
Our TSP hasn't been super helpful in troubleshooting this issue and just said we should contact Apple as it is an Apple error.
I am trying to figure out if the issue is with how we are implementing the feature or with the test data itself given to us.

Apple Sandbox is not available in India, also Apple Pay itself is not supported by Indian Banks. How can I still test using Apple Pay sandbox in India? I am trying to add test cards on my iPhone and it fails to add it. It tries to connect to Issuer, which it should not for sandbox Apple Id.
Can anyone help how to achieve this?

For one of my projects, I am using the Web Drop-in component of Adyen PSP on a Salesforce B2B Commerce site. One of the payment methods is Apple Pay. The payment method is rendered, but the Apple Pay button is not clickable. We tried debugging it but could not identify the root cause. Could you advise how this issue can be fixed?

We are facing an issue with Apple Pay address details while customers are placing orders on our production site.
By default, the following values are being passed during checkout:
First Name: ApplePay
Last Name: Express
Address: ApplePay Street
When we manually enter these same details, our validation correctly prevents the order from being placed and displays an appropriate error message. However, on our production site, real customers are still able to successfully place orders with these exact details.
Could you please help us understand:
How these orders are being allowed to proceed despite the validation?
Is this behaviour expected from Apple Pay ?
How can we prevent orders from being placed with such placeholder address details?
Please let us know if you need any additional information from our side.

We are on a .NET ecommerce site hosted on AWS on a windows 2012R2 server. We have apple pay for the web integrated on the site and the certificates (merchant id and apple pay) were set to expire shortly. We created a new merchant id and apple pay cert, however we are now stuck as the new merchant ID certificate doesn't appear to be working although the old one did. Note there have been no code changes. Basically the apple pay process is failing on the merchant validation.
Here are the steps we took:
Created a CSR in Keychain Access
Generated a Merchant ID cert in the Apple Developer account with that CSR.
Imported the Merchant ID cert back into Keychain Access and exported as a p12 file the cert and the private key used to generate the CSR.
Imported the p12 file into Windows 2012 R2.
I can see in our debugging that the new certificate is being loaded but a SSL/TSL connection couldn't be made. So it seems there is an issue with the cert.
Has anyone encountered this? I'm out of ideas at this point and under a lot of pressure from management to fix what was supposed to be a routine maintenance issue.
If anyone has any ideas, that would be greatly appreciated.
I’m having an issue verifying a domain for a Merchant ID. I’m implementing Apple Pay on the web for a demo, and I’ve configured the Azure server to match Apple’s requirements for domain verification, such as the TLS configuration, not requiring client certificates, and ensuring there are no redirects.
I’ve run tests with OpenSSL and PowerShell and all responses return HTTP/1.1 200 OK. I also tested the URL Apple says it uses to validate the file under .well-known, and it does show the expected result.
I already have the Apple Pay Payment Processing Certificate and the Apple Pay Merchant Identity Certificate approved; the only thing missing is the domain verification. I’m not sure what else to test—if you could help me with a possible solution, I’d really appreciate it. (The project is built in .NET 8 and hosted on Azure App Service.)
We are working with a large fintech org on project connected with provisioning payment cards to Apple Wallet.
When we add a previously provisioned card to the Wallet (using the Wallet UI, Add card -> Previous card). It adds the card on one device showing the Express Travel card screen after the card is added allowing the user to set the card as an express travel card during the provisioning flow but never on our other devices. All of the test devices are clean and have only the same single card provisioned.
What triggers the Express Travel Card screen to be shown during the add previous card flow? (Why is it showing on one device and not another).

Hi Apple Team and Developers,
I’ve been testing the Top-up flow in our app via the TestFlight environment.
Across multiple devices (around 10 tested), everything works fine with no issues.
However, on one specific device — iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 18.6.2 — I’ve noticed an intermittent issue:
When performing a Top-up, the Apple UI first shows a successful purchase confirmation.
Immediately afterward, another UI prompt appears asking the player to re-enter their Apple ID password.
At the same time, Apple returns a ghost string that we cannot use to verify the user’s package bundle ID.
This creates potential confusion for users, as they see both a success confirmation and an unexpected password prompt.
I’m unsure if this behavior is expected or if there’s a recommended way to handle or prevent this issue.
Has anyone else encountered something similar, or does Apple have a suggested fix/workaround for this?

Hi,
we are trying to verify our domain and we uploaded the file to our domain
{DOMAIN}/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.txt and we can access it. But when we want verify the domain in your platform we can't do it and you see the message "Domain verification failed". How can we verified or if we need change something in our side to verify it?

We created apps for many credit unions in Canada. Some of those apps has the feature to directly add users' debit cards to Apple Wallet (which is called by Apple as "in-app provisioning"). The feature has been working fine for at least 6 years for many credit unions. Recently, after updating one of those existing apps, we found out that the in-app provisioning is no longer working. Found it very strange, as we didn't touch the code base related to this feature for a very long time. One thing we found out is that the option to add in-app provisioning entitlement is missing during generating "provisioning profile" for the app. Is this a misconfiguration by App? Or do we need to request for additional entitlement migration as mentioned in the page: https://developer.apple.com/help/account/reference/provisioning-with-managed-capabilities ? Apple, please help, it's rather urgent.
We’ve integrated in-app card provisioning into our application.
All required configurations have been completed, including:
Token Service Provider (TSP) setup
Certificates uploaded to the Apple Developer portal
While the card is successfully added to the Wallet app, our application is currently unable to retrieve or read the added passes.

During checkout at apple.com using a non-supported Apple Pay on the Web browser, apple.com presents a QR like code offering to "Scan Code with iPhone" to pay. The payment continues using Apple Pay on the iPhone after scan.
We already offer Apple Pay and Apple Pay on the Web. Is this QR code option available for us for non-supported browsers? Could you point me to the docs to add it? Thank you.

Our company sells insurance and we'd like to offer annual renewals via Apple Pay on the Web. Most of the docs seem to point towards using recurringpaymentrequest but this method required an amount value which would only be calculated at renewal time.
It appears that Shopify is doing something akin to what we want where they do auto payments so my question is can we do annual payments with unknown renewal prices with Apple Pay for Web ?
What we cannot do is show the renewal price like this as it being insurance is almost certain to change.
This is our current code which works but won't get past the regulator.

We're implementing Apple Pay on the web and are already live, processing transactions. However, we've noticed that occasionally the onlinePaymentCryptogram returned in the paymentData contains spaces, causing it to be rejected by acquirers.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
