Liquid Glass icons appear differently in Dock
I just played around on macOS with the new icons created by Icon Composer, and I noticed that the Dock displays programmatically set icons differently. Try this: Make sure you have the Mail app in your Dock. Set the icon appearance to "Tinted/Light" and set a dark (black) background for the Desktop. Run this code: let image = NSWorkspace.shared.icon(forFile: "/System/Applications/Mail.app") if image.isValid { NSApp.applicationIconImage = image } You'll get something like this: When the icon appearance is set to "Default" or "Dark," everything works as expected, and the "Clear/Dark" and "Tinted/Dark" modes seem to work as well. It seems like the Dock uses a special blend mode depending on the selected background, but this does not seem to be the case if the icon is set programmatically. I filed feedback FB20291186.

Greyed out app icon on iOS 26 beta
On iOS 26 beta 3, my app and some other apps got greyed out app icon. It only happens in Default (Light) appearance. Apple automatically converts third-party app icons to support Liquid Glass, but is there any specific requirement with third-party icons to avoid above greyed out app icon issue?

Contact UISearchBar missing.
Feedback id: FB16140301 Below are the steps to reproduce the bug in Contacts app. Open Contacts app. Now search for a contact and didSelect that contact. Now slightly hold swipe right(from view's center leading position) as to pop the view but not fully swipe, now release the finger and you can see the back nav bar button missing and tapping the back button position also doesn't perform dismiss action. Now do fully swipe from left to right to dismiss(pop) current view. Here you can see the search bar missing.-> That's the bug.

Give me my old Photos app back
Pleeease for the love of any and all things holy, I would really be eternally grateful if Apple decided to release an update that allows users to return to the old the photos app. Phones and technology are already overstimulating, and by making the photos app one continuous page it is emulating a social media app. The continuous page makes it much more overwhelming and confusing to find photos. Change and innovation is great! There are some changes that I enjoy from the ios 18 update, such as the little text enhancers that can emphasize certain words. However, the photos app was fine the way it was. If anything, Apple should allow the PAYING customers to choose how they would like their photos app (keeping the customizable option). also my battery which is normally super great is suddenly not as efficient…reminiscent of past devices I’ve had from Apple.

iPad screen size
Hi, Does the iPad Playgrounds app act completely the same way as a MacBook Playground? I am developing my app on a 2020 MacBook Air M1 using Swift Playgrounds. However, since the testing is going to be done on an iPad Swift Playgrounds, I was worried if my playground would work, since it relies heavily on the screen size etc. My app runs completely perfect on MacBook Playrgounds, but doesn't work on the iPad simulator on Xcode.

Should we design for Liquid Glass on visionOS?
Liquid Glass was introduced as a universal design language for all platforms, but isn't supported by visionOS 26 beta. For a small team creating a visionOS app targeted for release in fall 2026, should we focus our design work on Liquid Glass, or for the existing visionOS design language?

Map captured rooms from before merge, to new merged captured rooms
Hello everyone, I'm developing an app using RoomPlan where users can capture several rooms individually and assign custom names to each room. When I merge these captured rooms into a single CapturedStructure using the StructureBuilder, I want the merged structure to retain the original sections with their custom labels. However, I'm encountering an issue: Problem: After merging, the CapturedStructure's sections have different identifiers (UUIDs) compared to the original sections in the individual CapturedRooms. This means there's no straightforward way to map the custom labels from the original rooms to the sections in the merged structure. What I've Tried: Mapping by Identifiers: Attempted to map custom labels using the sections' identifiers, but the identifiers change during the merge, making this ineffective. Mapping by Positions: Tried matching sections based on their center positions (simd_float3), but these change. Modifying Section Labels: Considered changing the label property of the sections before merging, but the label is read-only and cannot be modified directly, and the CoreModel is used for merging rather than the data that can be modified via json. Question: Is there a recommended way to preserve or map custom section labels when merging multiple CapturedRooms into a single CapturedStructure using RoomPlan? How can I ensure that the custom labels assigned to rooms before the merge are correctly associated with the corresponding sections after the merge? Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Type of Apple ble beacons
Our custom ble based app starts a service uuid beacon to advertise. When the app is put in background, the beacon is shifted to another beacon and a specific beacon data is put in the scan response one example is like: 0x14FF4C000100000000000000000000000000040000 I want to know what is the format of this beacon. I can see its a manufacturer type data with apple company id and beacon type is 0x01. I want to know what this type means and how is the data which follows is calculated.

Align NSMenuItem title to right
In my application, I am creating a simple NSMenu with NSMenuItems. The title of the NSMenuItems are adapted to the system language. So, when the system language is an RTL language (right to left), I want my NSMenuItem to be aligned at the right. I can't see anyone talking about this, or any option that could make me achieve that easily. NSMenuItem* item1; NSMenuItem* item2; item1 = [[NSMenuItem alloc] init]; item2 = [[NSMenuItem alloc] init]; item1.title = "foo"; item2.title = "bar"; item1.action = @selector(fooAction); item2.action = @selector(barAction); NSMenu *menu = [[NSMenu alloc] init]; [menu addItem:item1]; [menu addItem:item2];

Question about the platform parameter in device registration
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstoreconnectapi/devicecreaterequest/data-data.dictionary/attributes-data.dictionary According to the API documentation above, the parameter values for platform can be three: IOS, MAC-OS, and UNIVERSAL. After debugging, it was found that IOS and MAC-OS can be used normally, but UNIVERSAL encountered an error UNIVERSAL' is not a valid value for the attribute 'platform'. Expected one of: 'IOS', 'MAC_OS', I would like to know if this value has been deprecated or if the API interface requires new version support, and how to use this value! Please help me solve it! thank you!

IOS 18 App Icon Photoshop Template Won’t Work
I can’t figure out how to make the iOS 18 photoshop template for app icons work. In the past, each variant of the icon size was an editable layer you could open up, change and save. In this one, only the large App Store icons are editable. So I thought maybe if I put my icon in the App Store layer, the smaller icons would automatically scale and fill in. But they don’t. When I checkmark the generate assets option, it generates all the icon files, but all of them are blank, except for the App Store one. I don’t really want the smaller icons to just automatically scale down anyway; I would rather have them be fine-tuned by hand so that they look good at all sizes. I used the sketch template in a free trial of sketch and it automatically scaled and generated all of the icon sizes, as expected. But I don’t own sketch; I use Photoshop and Illustrator for all of my work. I’ve always been able to use the template in the past; it’s only this year‘s iOS 18 version that isn’t working for me.

Liquid Glass App Icons without Icon Composer
We have found that on iOS 26 beta some of our app icons built from an Xcode 16 asset catalog containing a single 1024x1024 .png file have a Liquid Glass effect applied to them while others have not. The documentation states that If you choose not to use Icon Composer, you can still use an AppIcon asset catalog in your project containing individual app icon images and let the system apply the Liquid Glass material. and If you prefer, you can take advantage of the system’s automatically generated treatment that is applied to all app icons. Is there any insight into how the system treats app icons that have not yet been updated with Icon Composer?

Launch screen more vibrant in iOS18?
Hi! I've detected that in iOS18 launch screen colors differs from the defined ones, that is, if I create a launch screen with a color like #ff0000 (red) and the initial view controller is a view controller with the same color as background, I can see the transition between launch screen and the initial view controller because the launch screen color is different from the other one (dark in this case). I've tested it with several colors: left side is the launch screen and right side is the initial view controller. Both views created with IB using the same colors (it also happens with background images using colors) Is this an intentionall behavior? If so, theres a way to disable it? I need the transition between the launch screen and my initial view controller to be non perceptible... Thanks!

13 Years Old App Gets Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam Rejection
Our application was first published on December 16, 2012, at 11:42 PM, and has been available on the market for 13 years. Over the years, we have implemented hundreds of updates to enhance and refine the app. Our recent updates are rejected for the reason "Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam" warning. How can it be for a 13 years old app. Please advice me what to do. Thanks in advance

Icon Composer missing margins
I'm trying out Icon Composer Version 1.0 (27.4). I imported a simple logo and sized it in the outer circle. The icon appears good in the Icon Composer. But when I export the file and use it for my app icon it seems to be missing a margin or padding that other native application icons have. Am i supposed to be adding my own padding to these resulting icons or am I building them incorrectly? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

Add a “Close All” button on iPhone background Apps
Hello Apple Team, I’d like to request a feature that allows users to close all background apps at once on iPhones. Currently, closing each app individually can be time-consuming, especially when many are running. A “Close All” button would greatly improve user experience and efficiency. Thank you for considering this suggestion!

Section Header Overlaps with Cell Text in Plain List Style on iOS 26
Hi everyone, I've noticed that on iOS 26 beta 1 through beta 4, when using a List with the .plain style, the section header overlaps with the cell content below it, as there is no background for the header. This creates a poor visual experience. Additionally, when using NavigationSplitView on iPad, the second column's list always shows this issue. Is this an intentional design change, or just a temporary issue? I haven't found a good workaround so far. Thanks! FB19066489
