Platform identifier for iPadOS with xcodebuild?
Now that iPadOS has been split off into its own unique entity, how does this affect xcodebuild?Until now, I have been using -destination generic/platform=com.apple.platform.iphoneos to make my .xcarchives.In looking through Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms I see explict references to tvOS, macOS, watchOS and iPhoneOS.iPadOS is not referenced at all. So... do we just keep using iphoneos to build for both iPhone and iPad?It *seems* to be the case, but just wanted to see if someone knows something I'm overlooking or didn't hear about.

Reply to Platform identifier for iPadOS with xcodebuild?
>do we just keep using iphoneos to build for both iPhone and iPad?Even tho Xcode 11b* claims to include 'ipadOS SDK', when creating a new project the platform choices (iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, cross platform), haven't (yet) changed and do not break out ipadOS. Seems odd, but it does say 'iOS' and not iPhoneOS, and, we're not presented with an 'iphoneOS SDK', so.... Maybe later. There is a change to devices, however - when creating a new iOS project, Xcode 11 now doesn't include 'Universal' and only shows Target Device: iphone & ipad, whether you choose iOS 13, or lower. My opinion/guess is that com.apple.platform.iphoneos will continue as the default for any iOS archive.Have to wonder if the store mandate that iphone apps be allowed to run in emulation mode on any ipad is up for changes. If not, maybe that's further motivation to stick with .iphoneos.-=-*8.27 edit - looks like ipadOS has gone missing as Xcode 11b7 does not mention it...Xcode 11 includes SDKs for iOS 13, macOS

Reply to IpadOs13.1 Beta1
Very strange this has never happened before. I didn’t look carefully enough but my iPhone said there was a new beta so I started downloading it only to realize to late that it’s iOS 13.1 beta. My iPad running iPadOS 13 beta 8 did not give the option to upgrade to 13.1 or I would be upgrading to it also today. I’ll know for next time to read the update more carefully. I hope it doesn’t screw up anything. 13.0 beta 8 was actually very good and I would assume when beta 9 comes out it would be even better. That goes for iPadOS 13.0 also.

iPadOS 13.1 beta 1 has share suggestions greyed out
I have just updated to the first beta of iPadOS 13.1 and I have noticed that when I try to share anything pressing the Activity button the sharing suggestion row looks empty but, trying to interact with it, one sees that the options are only greyed out and almost invisibles. Is anyone else experiencing this?If not, is there something I could do or is there something I am forgetting or not thinking about?Thank you very much

QR code reader in iOS 13/iPadOS 13 opens links in a web view which does not have Safari's session cookies
QR code reader in iOS 13/iPadOS 13 opens links in a web view which does not have Safari's session cookies. QR code reader in iOS13/iPadOS13 opens web links in a web view instead of Safari. This is inconsistent with the camera in iOS13/iPadOS13 which opens web links in Safari. The difference here is that the webview used in the QR Coder reader does not have session cookies etc from Safari. I assume that the behaviour is just different here, but it's also possible that the cookies aren't available because of a bug? Did anyone else notice this? The behaviour of the QR code reader in iOS12/iOS13 is different, in iOS12 it nicely open links in real Safari, so the user's cookies can be accessed properly.

Notes not syncing to iCloud
I'm having an issue with notes created in Apple Notes on my Macbook Pro (MacOS 10.15 Beta) not syncing up to iCloud. Any notes created on my IOS 13 Beta and iPadOS 13 Beta devices will sync to iCloud, and subsequently sync to my Mac, but nothing created on the Mac gets to the other devices.Any advice would be appreciated.

Reply to AVAudioSessionErrorCodeCannotStartRecording when recording in the background with iOS 13
We use audio units for recording. It's a lot of code and I cannot share it. Project has audio background mode capability. I have used iPadOS 13.1 beta (I hope that iOS 13.1 beta is the same). If the application (on iOS 12.4) is in the background and something interrupts the app during recording (alarm, phone call) then it cannot resume recording (AudioOutputUnitStart failed with error AVAudioSessionErrorCodeCannotStartRecording). When I tested it on iPadOS 13.1 beta then it worked. I didn't try with AVAudioRecorder.

Touch events are not propagated correctly with iPad Pro 3rd gen
Hello everyone!I encountered an issue specific for iPad OS 13.x (13.0 and 13.1), iPad Pro 3rd Gen and XCode 11.The problem here is that the touch events are not propagated correctly to a WKWebView view that is behind other View controllers turning the webview unusable and blocking the app from responding since the user cannot execute any actions on the webview. If I switch to XCode 10.1 that will use iOS 12.1 frameworks the problem is not present. The problem appears to be related to an extra UIView being used as a parent of the foreground view controller... like thisMyUIWindow WKWebViewUITransitionView UIDropShadowView UIView <------------------------- This MyUIViewControllerThat extra UIView appears only with iPad Pro 3rd gen. With other iPads running iPadOS 13.x the problem does not happen and also the UIView is not present. When compiling for iOS 12.1 the hierarchy is clearer like thisMyUIWindow WKWebViewMyUIViewControllerNo extra UI Elements are added.I have no idea why the extra View elements w

Files app can see SMB folder, but can’t open PDF file
iPadOS 13.1 beta 1. I am able to open a shared network folder (windows 10) in the files app and see the list of files, but tapping on a PDF file does nothing. If I long press on the file name I get a menu with copy, duplicat, info, quick look but none of them open the file for viewing. Info shows file information and has an open button, but the open button does nothing. Quick look shows a gray window with the title of the file but not the pdf contents.i Am able to direct open pdf files from dropbox folders.
