Panel Toggle Glitch
Development environment: Simulator: iOS 26 beta 3 iPhone 16 (for testing) Simulator 2: iPadOS 26 beta 3 iPad Air 13 inch (M3) (for testing) Connected Device: iPadOS 26 beta 3 iPad Pro 11 inch (M4) (for testing) Dev Device: macOS Tahoe 26 beta 3 Macbook Air When using the NavigationSplitView element, the sidebar has a built-in panel toggle button. However, when I click the toggle button to toggle the sidebar section in SwiftUI 26 on both simulator 2 and the connected device, it has a slight animation glitch before going back to normal. What's going on? This is my code for the specific view that has the NavigationSplitView (and all views are connected through TabViews): RecordsPage.swift Here are image references: When I clicked the toggle: After 1~2 seconds: These images are in the state of the panel being hidden.

iPadOS 26 Menu Bar Questions
We’re currently working on adding support for a Menu Bar in a cross-platform app built with SwiftUI, aiming to reuse the existing macOS menu bar implementation for iPadOS. The basic functionality is working well, but we’ve run into several challenges due to missing APIs—or ones we may have overlooked. We’d appreciate any insights or suggestions on the following issues: (Xcode 26 beta 3, iPadOS 26 beta 3) Command Handlers (Copy, Cut, Paste, Delete) On iOS/iPadOS, handlers like onCopyCommand, onCutCommand, onPasteCommand, and onDeleteCommand are unavailable. Since we also can’t hide the default context menus, we’re unsure how to properly implement these functions. How can we best support copy/paste behavior on iPadOS using the menu bar? Undo/Redo Support Undo and redo work as expected on macOS, but on iPadOS, the menu items are always grayed out—even though undo/redo functionality is available in the app. Is there a recommended way to enable these items in the menu b

DriverKit issue with TestFlight
Hi, We’re developing a DriverKit extension for iPadOS. In local Debug and Release builds, everything works as expected, but the same build uploaded to TestFlight fails at IOServiceOpen with the following errors: -536870212 (0xE00002EC) kIOReturnUnsupported -536870201 (0xE00002F7) kIOReturnNotPermitted What we’ve verified so far App entitlements We checked our main app entitlements file, and it has the correct capabilities for the driverkit communication <?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC -//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd> <plist version=1.0> <dict> <key>com.apple.developer.driverkit.communicates-with-drivers</key> <true/> <key>com.apple.developer.driverkit.userclient-access</key> <array> <string>abc.def.ABCDriver</string> </array> <key>com.apple.developer.system-extension.install</key> <true/> <key>com.apple.security.app-sandbox</key&

Accessing PIV Smart Card Certificates from iPadOS application.
I am new to swift development, and it's possible that I'm missing something fundamental/obvious. If so, I apologize in advance. My team is developing an application for iPadOS using SwiftUI, and I'm trying to accomplish something similar to what the original inquirer is asking for in this thread: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/725152. The only difference is that I'm trying to use a PIV smart card to achieve authentication to a server rather than digitally sign a document. Unfortunately, I'm getting stuck when attempting to run the list() function provided in the accepted answer to the post mentioned above. When attempting to call SecItemCopyMatching(), I'm getting a -34018 missing entitlement error. I've attempted to add the com.apple.token to my app's keychain-access-groups entitlements, but this does not resolve the issue. I have checked the entitlements in my built app, per the recommendation in the troubleshooting guide here: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/114456. The entitl

Issue with layoutMarginsGuide under iOS 26
Before I file a bug report I wanted to verify that I'm not missing something. If I setup a view controller in a navigation controller and I add a view with a constraint that lines it up with the view controller's view's layoutMarginsGuide (leadingAnchor or trailingAnchor), in several cases the view will not line up with buttons added in the navigation bar. Under iOS 18 everything lines up as expected. To demonstrate, create a new iOS project based on Swift/Storyboard. Setup the storyboard to show a UINavigationController with one UIViewController. Then in ViewController.swift (the one embedded in the navigation controller), use the following code: import UIKit class ViewController: UIViewController { override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() view.backgroundColor = .yellow title = Layout Margins let leftCancel = UIBarButtonItem(systemItem: .cancel) navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem = leftCancel let rightCancel = UIBarButtonItem(systemItem: .cancel) navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = rightCancel let lef

UIRequiresFullScreen in iPadOS 26
Our app includes the UIRequiresFullScreen plist key, but the iPadOS 26 betas seem to ignore this. The window handle is still displayed, and while the window aspect ratio seems to be constrained, you can still adjust it and arrange it alongside other apps. We do not want to support windowing or multi-tasking, and the WWDC sessions indicated there would be a way to opt out of the new windowing system. Has UIRequiresFullScreen been silently deprecated, or are we missing something in our implementation?

Reply to Socket exception errSSLPeerBadCert CFStreamErrorDomainSSL Code -9825
Hmmm, it looks like you already filed a bug about this (FB18597374) back on 4 Jul. I wish you’d mentioned that here. It’d have saved us some back’n’forth. Anyway, your bug report is definitely the best path forward for this issue. Looking at your bug, I don’t see any sysdiagnose logs attached. I recommend that you do the following: Install the Network Diagnostics for iOS/iPadOS debug profile. See the instructions on our Bug Reporting > Profiles and Logs page. Reproduce the problem. Immediately after seeing it, trigger a sysdiagnose log. Attach that log to your bug report. It might also help if you captured an RVI packet trace of the problem and attached that to the bug report. See Recording a Packet Trace for info on how to do that. Share and Enjoy — Quinn “The Eskimo!” @ Developer Technical Support @ Apple let myEmail = eskimo + 1 + @ + apple.com

Reply to DriverKit issue with TestFlight
Thanks for the response. No, but iPadOS apps should not include com.apple.developer.driverkit.userclient-access. Note that your construction of that entitlement is also invalid (it's a list of bundle IDs and requires approval to use), We realized this was for MacOS only and since our app is for iOS, we plan to remove this. The actual bundleId was approved and we just use a censored bundle ID here Assuming the contents you've posted are accurate, then this mismatch is the problem: Those dictionaries must match in order for your DEXT to load. Yes, we also noticed the missing idVendor in our driver entitlement and updated it to match the provisioning profile. However, the issue still persists—our DriverKit is realized but does not start in the TestFlight build. Local Build (works): After enabling the driver and connecting the hardware, the system logs show the driver is both realized and started successfully. TestFlight Build (broken): On the same hardware and sequence, the system only logs the realizat

A Summary of the WWDC25 Group Lab - Apple Intelligence
At WWDC25 we launched a new type of Lab event for the developer community - Group Labs. A Group Lab is a panel Q&A designed for a large audience of developers. Group Labs are a unique opportunity for the community to submit questions directly to a panel of Apple engineers and designers. Here are the highlights from the WWDC25 Group Lab for Apple Intelligence. Can I integrate writing tools in my own text editor? UITextView, NSTextView, and SwiftUI TextEditor automatically get Writing Tools on devices that support Apple Intelligence. For custom text editors, check out Enhancing your custom text engine with Writing Tools. Given that Foundation Models are on-device, how will Apple update the models over time? And how should we test our app against the model updates? Model updates are in sync with OS updates. As for testing with updated models, watch our WWDC session about prompt engineering and safety, and read the Human Interface Guidelines to understand best practices in prompting the on-device model.
