Reply to CardDAV doesn't work anymore
After a clean install of 10.11 - I cannot connect to my carddav server on OS X Server 5.0beta1 anymore. Computers that are still using an upgraded version from 10.10 to 10.11 won't have the issue. If I try to set everything up through Contacts -> Preferences -> Accounts, the preferences pane and Contacts will crash immediately. If I try to set it up as server account through System Preferences -> Internet Accounts, CalDav and CardDav won't even try to connect. If I set it up as CalDAV account through System Preferences -> Internet Accounts, Calendar is working correctly. If I set it up as CardDAV account through System Preferences -> Internet Accounts, CardDAV is still not connecting.I suppose, the automatic port configuration might be the issue. How can I set it up correctly and manually?username - okpassword - okserver address - okpath - what is os x server's default path for carddav - /principals/ will result in not connecting at allport - I suppose it's 443

Reply to First install impressions?
Installation slow, but no issues.General impression: Massively improved performance on a late 2013 MBA. Fans were spinning often on Yosemite before, now system is cool (literally). Also, it behaves a lot faster. So that's good and it really makes me not want to go back. Some observations in random order:Eliminated custom content from /usr, which broke LaTeX. Needed disabling rootless to restore.Java problems were avoided by switching to Java8 before.VirtualBox works w/o problems.Skim is broken. Which is a big one for all students probably :-(Magic Trackpad behaves weirdly (operational, except mouse cursor not moving) when connecting MBA to TB display. Using insomnia to not have it sleep when connecting solves it.TB connected audio device (through belkin hub) stopped working, after a reboot it was there againFefe's blog shows white boxes when pinch-zooming in SafariThe announced new tiling features are at odds with my being too stupid to make them work in any way.TotalSpaces 2 could be made work with a quick up

Mail: Add (contact; calendar entry) issues
Mail shows a function to add a contact. This mixed up on my end by adding my own email address to some address book entry, making then all my mails show up under the newly added contact's name. Had to remove from address book and restart mail.Adding a calendar invite is also kind of weird. It adds a link to the mail, not the attached ics file, to a random calendar.

How can I get the Apple Watch Clock 24-Hour time setting in a watch application.
Is there a way to get the setting in the Apple Watch application under 'Clock' to get the 24-Hour Time toggle? I can get the phone's version by usinglet formatString: NSString = NSDateFormatter.dateFormatFromTemplate(jj, options: 0, locale: NSLocale.currentLocale())!var hasAMPM = formatString.containsString(a)but that doesn't give me what specifically the watch has set? I see the top right time changes correctly and the Calendar app on watch uses it too, but cannot find how to use in my app to stay consistent with the setting.

Solutions for Better Battery Life on Beta 1 - Confirmed for Mult. Devices
Update: 6/21/2015 - 3:43 AM PST - Added third step that may resolve certain issues stemming from prior iOS backups restoring to iOS 9 Beta 1.OK we've done our 24 hours of testing and can very safely conclude that all battery life issues accross three different devices included in the test have been entirely resolved and now the devices are not heating up, charging normally, and retaining a normal rate of discharge on standby. In additio, battery use reports within Settings confirm that the Homescreen no longer is consuming a substantial (more than 20%) portion of the average use of total battery power. (devices are normalizing data still, however to ensure none of you suffer this any further here are the necessary changes)1. Completely disable iCloud Backups on each device running iOS 9 Beta 1 (Use iTunes to Backup and restore devices for now.)2. Disable iCloud drive (if you enabled it) on each device running Beta 13. If you restored a backup from iOS 8.4, 8.3 or earlier after upgrading to 9.0 Beta 1 then you

Reply to How do I start!
You should at least learn the basics of the tools so you don't risk not understanding detailed replies, etc. One way to do that is to work thru this Getting Startedlist, asking specific questions as you better understand, etc.As for calendars, see: Introduction to Calendars and Reminders...and perhaps the sample app here: https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/samplecode/NavBar/Introduction/Intro.html#### Extended Navigation Bar ####This example demonstrates placing a custom view underneath the navigation bar in such a manner that view appears to be part of the navigation bar itself. This technique may be used to create an interface similar to the iOS Calendar app.Good luck.◅▻

CloudKit: Query all extended user records
Hi, I'm planning to give the user an option to design its own selection color for a kinda calendar app.(Internal CarSharing Planner, to be more precise.)My idea was to extend the public 'Users' record type by a 'PreferredColor' value, which contains the RGB String representation of that given color. This works great for the currently logged in user since I'm able to directly fetch the record like so:var container = CloudKit.getDefaultContainer(); var publicDB = container.publicCloudDatabase; return publicDB.fetchRecord( { recordName: currentUser.id, zoneID: '_defaultZone' } ) .then(function(response) { /* ... */ }(CloudKit JS)But as soon as I try to gather the 'PreferredColor' fields of all users I'm stuck.Directly querying the 'Users' record leads to an error.[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden) (query, line 0)That is great for security reasons and all I need to properly assign the user and the color is the recordName and the 'PreferredColor' field of

Calendar Does Not Sync iOS 9/WatchOS 2
Hello Apple & community,I've updated both my phone and then my watch to the latest betas. I haven' seen any useful help out there regarding this, so I'll post the question here now. My Calendar is NOT syncing at all with the Apple Watch after the 'upgrade'. I've reset both phone and watch and have also un-paired and repaired the watch to no avail. Please respond with this as a potentially known bug or a solution to get this working. I've also noticed that the Reset Sync Data (Apple Watch App >>> General >>> Reset >>> Reset Sync Data actually does nothing on iOS 9. Please adivse! Thanks.
