Anyone else having problems performing iCloud backup?
On my iPhone it says I performed a backup earlier today. Two actually, one is the normal size I would expect and the other is 0KB. I cannot delete either backup from the phone or the iCloud windows program. When I plug my phone into Itunes the latest iCloud backup it recognizes is the one I did a few minutes before I put iOS 9 on my phone. Is anyone else having problems running iCloud backups on iOS 9?

Reply to Metal - Support for geometry and domain shaders?
Based on the fact that they switched all their UI rendering to Metal and the state of OpenGL and OpenCL support getting worse with every update, I am quite certain that ;etal is meant to become the graphics and compute shader framework of choice for high performance graphics on all things Apple.I really hope that at least tessellation shaders will make it in a not so distant update. I also wouldn't mind geometry shaders, but while there are some nice use cases on desktop hardware, they have quite a bad reputation and perform poorly on my macbook, so using metal compute features as a replacement might be a good way to go. Although making instances of the same geometry render in different frame buffers in one draw is a really nice geometry shader feature for shadow mapping. Something like that might already be possible in different ways with metal though!?To summerize: I'd be really interested in an answer to this question too! 🙂Edit: LAYERED RENDERING is supported in Metal!

Weird error converting date code
This line of code I could not get to compile in S2 (yes it worked in 1.2):let newerDate = calendar.dateByAddingUnit(NSCalendarUnit.Day, value: 1, toDate: NSDate(), options: nil)The error message:Cannot invoke 'dateByAddingUnit' with an argument list of type '(NSCalendarUnit, value: Int, toDate: NSDate, options: nil)'Must be a bug.

Reply to tableviewcontroller to tabbarcontroller
Oh wow, I wish I knew that earlier. Is there anywhere in the docs I can find out information like this?I have quite a bit of navigation between views in my app. I start with a tableviewcontroller to display a list of sites to choose from which will show a tabbarcontroller which can then potentially go to another tabbarcontroller.Do I need to run with modals for each of these subsequent screens? I also tried adding a tabbar to a viewcontroller, but I couldn't even get the tab bar to display.Any advice would be appreciated.

almost afraid to ask on new background modes.
I didn't see anything obious so far except for possibly multitasking, which I am going to ask if it is/has usable background modes, is there any new background modes in iOS9, you know the kind, the kind that our users are begging us for? it always amazes me the answer to someone here asking if they can do something in the background, and the answer is that this does not fit into Apple's plan for the battery. yet the task asked about, would take far less battery than the current background modes, or even the task itself by having to do it in the foreground using the display. for instance doing a specific task that lasts less than 10 seconds at a specific date and time in the future, which uses about 1/1000th the battery of even major change to location in the background ...right now I have to ask the user to spend 10's of times the amount of battery than they have to, to execute tasks, because I am forced to have the user use the display to do it, rather than to do a specific task at a specific time in the futu

Reply to iOS 9 Beta battery life
This is what I'm interested in. From a technical standpoint what causes battery life to be reduced during beta releases? The UI seems a little snappier as well as app switching and just general performance on my 6. I am also seeing the battery drain issue as per normal beta performance. Just interested in why. Obviously optimisation is key but is the OS collecting data on performance for Apple techs to analyse? And how much optimisation will apps need to do upon public release? I am finding software development more fascinating all the time :)

How to get the comment of a Photo in a shared Album?
I have a shared album iCloudSharedAlbum using iCloud1. How do I get comments attached to a photo?2. How do I get the recently added comment on a photo I am observing? (Using PHPhotoLibraryChangeObserver protocol)I have been trying with the official sample: https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/samplecode/UsingPhotosFramework/Introduction/Intro.htmlI just changed a couple of lines to show shared albums (In AAPLRootListViewController awakeFromNib method)PHFetchResult *smartAlbums = [PHAssetCollection fetchAssetCollectionsWithType:PHAssetCollectionTypeAlbum subtype:PHAssetCollectionSubtypeAlbumCloudShared options:nil];I add a comment to the shared photo and wait for the changes to be reflected in the sample app.-[AAPLAssetGridViewController photoLibraryDidChange:] it IS called!. However changes are nil // self.assetsFetchResults is a list of photos I am showing. // There is only one photo in the list, the one being shared and the one the comment was just added PHFetchResultChangeDetails *coll

Reply to Cannot logout or change settings in iCloud - OS X 10.11
I'm having the same issue, and the only oddity that I can seem to point out so far is with my account itself. I've had the account since the .Mac days, so it has a @mac.com, @me.com, and @icloud.com alias. I noticed in the Internet Accounts Preference Pane that I have multiple iCloud accounts listed which are aliases for eachother. This is certainly not how I had it set up in 10.9 before upgrading this system. The first iCloud account in the list shows my @me.com alias, and the other (which is overall 4th on the list) is my @mac.com address. When I click on the @mac.com address (which is marked as inactive) I get an immediate prompt saying:This Mac can’t connect to iCloud because of a problem with “<account>@mac.com”. Open iCloud preferences to fix this problem. From there it takes me back to the iCloud Preference Pane (which shows my @me.com alias) with a password prompt asking to sign into my Apple ID. I enter the password for my iCloud account (remember they're aliases so th
