Hi,
You're here because you've had issues with your implementation of Wallet Extensions for Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification. To prevent sending sensitive credentials in plain text, create a new report in Feedback Assistant to share the details requested below with the appropriate log profiles installed.
Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification Issues
While troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification, it is essential that the issuer is able to collect logs on their device and check those logs for error message. This is also essential when reporting issues to Apple. To gather the required data for your own debugging as well as reporting issues, please perform the following steps on the test device:
Install the Apple Pay and Wallet profiles on your iOS or watchOS device. If the issue occurs on Mac, continue to Step 2.
Reproduce the issue and make a note of the timestamp when the issue occurred, while optionally capturing screenshots or video.
Gather a sysdiagnose on the same iOS or watchOS device, or on macOS.
Create a Feedback Assistant report with the following information:
The bundle IDs
App bundle ID
Non-UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable)
UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable)
The serial number of the device.
For iOS and watchOS: Open Settings > General > About > Serial Number (tap and hold to copy).
For macOS: Open the Apple () menu > About This Mac > Serial Number.
The SEID (Secure Element Identifier) of the device, represented as a HEX encoded string.
For iOS and watchOS: Open Settings > General > About > SEID (tap and hold to copy).
For macOS: Open the Apple () menu > About This Mac > System Report > NVMExpress > Serial Number.
The sysdiagnose gathered after reproducing the issue.
The timestamp (including timezone) of when the issue was reproduced.
The type of provisioning failure (e.g., error at Terms & Conditions, error when adding a card, etc.)
The issuer/network/country of the provisioned card (e.g., Mastercard – US)
Last 4 digits of the FPAN
Last 4 digits of the DPAN (if available)
Was this test initiated from the Issuer App? (e.g., yes or no)
The type of environment (e.g., sandbox or production)
Screenshots or videos of errors and unexpected behaviors (optional).
Important: From the logs gathered above, you should be able to determine the cause of the failure from PassbookUIService, PassKit or PassKitCore, and by filtering for your SEID or bundle ID of your app or app extensions in the Console app.
Submitting your feedback
Before you submit to Feedback Assistant, please confirm the requested information above is included in your feedback. Failure to provide the requested information will only delay my investigation into the reported issue within your Apple Pay client.
After your submission to Feedback Assistant is complete, please respond in your existing Developer Forums post with the Feedback ID. Once received, I can begin my investigation and determine if this issue is caused by an error within your client, a configuration issue within your developer account, or an underlying system bug.
Cheers,

I'm developing wallet extension for my app and using sandbox for testing. It was working properly on iOS 17, then I updated to iOS 18 and now the Wallet doesn't recognize my extension. It passes on 'status' method, but doesn't reach the 'passEntries' method.
Does it have any solution?
We have integrated the card provisioning in Apple wallet for quite sometime now through an external processor and we got the App Entitlement for the same.
Now we are building the card provisioning in Apple Wallet flow in our app. Though everything seems to work fine (including issuer certificates, nonce etc.) but when we are clicking on ADD button on card details screen, I am getting an error saying "Could Not Add Card".
When I inspect the error from didFinishAddingPaymentPass, it reads "The operation couldn’t be completed. (PKPassKitErrorDomain error 2.)". Though the Apple documentation suggests it as an unsupportedVersionError but it does not say anything beyond that. I want more detailed explanation because of which I am getting this error
We’ve recently observed an escalating number of complaints from AlipayHK users regarding duplicate charges when completing transactions via Apple Pay. While no similar issues have been reported by users of other credit card providers integrated with Apple Pay, the problem appears isolated to AlipayHK transactions.
Key Details:
Multiple users confirm being charged twice for single transactions.
Complaints are increasing in frequency, indicating a potential systemic issue.
No overlapping reports from non-AlipayHK payment methods at this time.
To safeguard customer trust and ensure seamless payment experiences, we kindly request Apple’s support in:
Investigating whether the root cause stems from Apple Pay’s transaction handling.
Collaborating with AlipayHK (if necessary) to resolve the issue promptly.
Providing guidance on interim measures to prevent further duplicate charges.
Could Apple confirm if this is a known issue and share a timeline for resolution? We’re eager to assist in any way possible to mitigate impact on users.
Thank you for your urgent attention to this matter.
Hello,
I've recently created a merchant ID and added two domains to it. I placed the verification .txt files in the right place (under the .well-known dir) and both verified successfully and show as such in the merchant id setup page.
I am intermittently getting the following error:
{
"statusMessage": "Payment Services Exception merchantId=XXXXX not registered for domain=my.domain.com",
"statusCode": "400"
}
(merchantId and domain have been masked in the above error) -- What's odd is that this is intermittent -- It'll work fine, and then stop and start giving the above error, and then start working fine again, with no intervention from me.
Some context: This is a single server application, so it's not like we've got a server out of sync somewhere.
Thoughts?
Any thoughts?
I've implemented Push Provisioning, but am having trouble testing it.
When I try to add a payment pass with my activationData, encryptedPassData, and ephemeralPublicKey, I see the "Add Card to Apple Pay" screen, but then when I click "Add Card", I get a "Could Not Add Card" message.
When I inspect the error from didFinishAddingPaymentPass, it reads "The operation couldn’t be completed. (PKPassKitErrorDomain error 2.)".
Is this error PKPassKitError.Code.unsupportedVersionError? What does this error means?
Additional context:
We use cordova-apple-wallet to generate certificates and add payment pass.
I am trying to find solutions past 4 days. but not getting any reference about NFC implementation in my app to read Debit/Credit card upon user consent? Can you confirm apple is provided any api for read Debit/Credit card using NFC or not. Tried with normal NFCReader but it reads only for normal tags but nothing with Visa/ MasterCard cards. Looking forward some help from you. Thanks
My account has reached it's 99 merchant ID limit and I have applied and got approval for using the API that allows me to exceed the limit.
I was testing the API according to the documentation in Postman, but I am getting the following error:
POST https : //apple- pay-gateway.apple.com/paymentservices/registerMerchant
Error: read ECONNRESET
Please find below the cURL we are using according to the docs:
curl --location 'https://apple-pay-gateway.apple.com/paymentservices/registerMerchant'
--header 'Content-Type: application/json'
--data '{
"domainNames": "https://checkout.montypay.com",
"encryptTo": "merchant.test.montypay",
"partnerInternalMerchantIdentifier": "merchant.test.montypay",
"partnerMerchantName": "Test"
}'
Please note that I tried the Live and the sandbox endpoints and both gave the same error.
Hi, I purchased an account for the app's developer on 18/12/2024. But somehow, it appears that the processing takes 48 hours after the purchase. I received an email about the order. The Apple developer membership account shows, “To continue your enrolment, complete the purchase now.” When I click and fill it out, I wonder if it's the same command.
However, I already filled out all the details of the payment twice on 21/11/2024, but I haven't received a response from the teams. Could you please help me with this matter? TQVM for your concerns.

Hi,
I'm trying to create merchant tokens in ApplePay sandbox environment, so then I can use them to invalidate token API call and lifecycle notifications testing.
When processing test payment I use Apple Pay payment request taken directly from Apple's demo website (I skipped non important part of JSON)
{
...
"recurringPaymentRequest": {
"paymentDescription": "A description of the recurring payment to display to the user in the payment sheet.",
"regularBilling": {
"label": "Recurring",
"amount": "4.99",
"paymentTiming": "recurring",
"recurringPaymentStartDate": "2023-08-11T11:20:32.369Z"
},
"trialBilling": {
"label": "7 Day Trial",
"amount": "0.00",
"paymentTiming": "recurring",
"recurringPaymentEndDate": "2023-08-11T11:20:32.369Z"
},
"billingAgreement": "A localized billing agreement displayed to the user in the payment sheet prior to the payment authorization.",
"managementURL": "https://applepaydemo.apple.com",
"tokenNotificationURL": "https://applepaydemo.apple.com"
},
...
}
Payment is successful, but merchantTokenIdentifier in decrypted ApplePay token is always empty, regardless of test card used, I tried Visa, MasterCard, Amex.
Anyone have an idea what I'm missing and how to get that merchant token?
Is it even possible to test merchant tokens (lifecycle notifications) in sandbox?
This error occurs in Apple Pay Wallet In-App Provisioning Flow for Credit / Debit Cards
When the data received from the PNO (Visa) is passed to PKAddPaymentPassRequest this error is seen in addPaymentPassViewController, in the finalize stage.
Docs provide no clue as to what could be wrong.
iOS 18.2.1
XCode 15.2
Error description mentions "unsupportedVersionError"
Is the pass version not supported?
Is the wallet version not supported?
Is it an app implementation error or error in the data received from the PNO?
So we are developing an NFC reader for a client and one of the requirements was Apple ECP. We submitted a product plan and it was approved and we were given access to the specific documentation for ECP. We are looking to only use Loyalty passes via NFC. Not Apple Pay. We wish to develop passes that have NFC capability and apparently you need another approval for NFC Entitlement. Apple just denied our application. No reason given, just denied. How are we suppose to develop a solution when we can only do one side of the development? Also we are seeing VAS mentioned and believe we also need access to this documentation as well, but no idea where to request it. Nothing in our developer portal or wpc portal. Can someone from Apple please steer us in the right direction.
As we understand it we need:
Approved hardware product plan (which we have)
Access to ECP 2.0 documentation (which we have)
Access to VAS protocol documentation (we don't have)
NFC entitlement to be able to create NFC enabled passes.
Let me know what we need to do or if I am not understanding things correctly.
Thanks
Apple pay on checkout in iframe is working with test cards while in Private window. However when we go into normal browsing the Apple Pay button is greyed out. Real cards will ask for fingerprint and then decline with "Payment Not Completed". What is the issue?
I'm implementing Apple Pay for our application via the Apple Pay JS API, and everything works as expected when initiating a session from a Safari browser. However, when attempting to start a session in a non-Safari browser (Chrome in this case), I see the following behavior:
The "Scan Code with iPhone" popup appears
I scan the code with my device (9th gen iPad running iPadOS 18.5 if that matters)
The Apple Pay view does not appear on the device, and the "Scan Code" popup closes on the browser without any further information given.
I can see the messages being passed in the network tab, with the final message being a "getPaymentRequestResponse" message appearing at the time the code is scanned. I suspect merchant validation is failing since that should be the next step, but that's just an educated guess at this point. I would appreciate any help getting this issue resolved.

Hi! I need to generate multiple separated wallet passes, When ever I create a Sub-account - or sub-brand (in my web-app), I need to generate a wallet pass - stand alone - meaning new, new logo, new name and not all in a course format, I have a web-app that can do all but when it creates new sub-account (new brand) passes, will add them to same account in a carousel style, below an example that will make it clear (I hope). Also attached an image showing the 2 passes (2 different brands) in one main wallet pass (carousel) instead of having two different wallet passes (one for each brand - Sub-account).
How could I be able to accomplish this?
Thanks in advance!!
REFERENCE:
Main Apple Dev Account (ME)
Sub-Account (My Client)
User (Client of Sub-Account)
CASE NEEDED:
ME->Sub-Account A (Own Wallet Card stand alone pass no Carousel) -> Users: Only sees Account A Pass
ME->Sub-Account B (Own Wallet Card stand alone pass no Carousel) -> Users: Only sees Account B Pass
Users can be client of both sub-accounts, but must see each wallet pass as stand alone, do that sub-accounts are different brands.
The Wallet Passes docs, https://developer.apple.com/documentation/walletpasses seem to be missing any information about the features coming in iOS 18, specifically the new posterEventType, new semantic tags, and how to build out the event guide for a given ticket.

We tried to test In-App Provisioning in Production for our whitelisted app through TestFlight (Internal Testing Track) and we receive the following error response from PassBook during provisioning attempt,
Could you please guide us?
Error Response from sysdiagnose PassBookUIService during In-App Provisioning attempt:
{
statusCode = 500;
statusMessage = "Broker Service Response exception";
}
I reported the error in Feedback Assistant:

Hello
My app has implementation of In App Provisioning which is working fine. We have now added Wallet Extensions to it, but my App is not shown in Apple Wallet "From apps on your iphone"
I have uploaded Feedback (FB16450547) at
https://feedbackassistant.apple.com/feedback/16450547
Kindly request for your advice
I have implemented push provisioning, but I’ve encountered issues while testing it. I have tried with builds both in Xcode and TestFlight. According to the sysdiagnose, I can see the following:
{ statusCode = 500; statusMessage = 'Broker Service Response exception'; }
I reported the error in Feedback Assistant:
ID: FB15689064 (Error during the In-App Provisioning process)
Hello forum,
Hope all is great!
I have a shortcut automation which uses the transaction trigger. Since updating to ios 18 the transaction trigger does not work anymore.
Whenever a transaction is done, the “Running your automation” notification does not show up and the automation does not work.
To share with you the steps I’ve done so far:
1.Remove the automation and do it again
2.Remove the card from apple pay
3. Delete and install again the shortcut app
4. Turned on and off the phone
I can confirm the automation works on my other iPhone with the latest version of IOS 17.
Would really appreciate if anyone has any insights about that, or if this happened to you as well.
Cheers!
Dorin
Hi guys,
We are trying to implement a solution that would allow users to subscribe to other users in our app. The system should work the same way as Twitch's subscription model works. Users should be able to subscribe to anyone and each subscription should have different tiers.
From what we were able to gather, users cannot have multiples of the same subscription on applestoreconnect. Meaning that we would probably need to make a custom subscription per every user? Here we have also learned that there is a limit of 10 000 types of subscriptions and that it is not possible to dynamically create/delete them for users. (correct me if I am wrong)
Is there a solution for handling this type of a scenario?
Appreciate all answers.
