I am experiencing strange crashes in my (ObjC) code, that insinuate some memory corruption (mostly running SHA256 decryption for file data
in my code there's a
// return object that was stored in encrypted file
- (id) objectFromEncryptedFile:(NSString *)filePath
{
// read MYCrypto object that includes encrypted object of any class
MYCrypto *encData = [NSKeyedUnarchiver unarchiveObjectWithFile:filePath];
// decrypt, unarchive and return
return [encData objectFromEncryptedData:encData.data];
}
That seems to be called from different queues that are not synchronized.
It came to me that maybe NSKeyedUnarchiver is not "thread safe" and maybe unarchiveObjectWithFile is not reentrant?
Couldn't find anything in the normal documentation, but most of the old docs are no longer searchable.
Can someone shed light on this?

I am creating a LazyVGrid with 2 columns. I want it so that if there is only one item in a row, then it goes to the center of the row. I tried using an HStack with a Spacer, but it doesn't push it to the center. How do I do it?
ForEach(pets) { pet in
VStack {
Image(pet.species.rawValue)
.resizable()
.frame(width: 80, height: 80)
Text(pet.name)
.poppinsBold(size: 16)
}
}
HStack {
if pets.hasEvenNumber {
Spacer(minLength: 0)
}
Button {
addPetSheet = true
} label: {
VStack {
ZStack {
Circle()
.frame(width: 70, height: 70)
.foregroundStyle(.gray)
Image(systemName: "plus")
.foregroundStyle(.white)
.font(.title)
}
Text("Add")
.poppinsBold(size: 16)
}
}
}
}
The app or its metadata appears to contain potentially misleading content. Specifically, the app includes content that resembles AlphaCargo without the necessary authorizatin.
In my application, I am creating a simple NSMenu with NSMenuItems. The title of the NSMenuItems are adapted to the system language. So, when the system language is an RTL language (right to left), I want my NSMenuItem to be aligned at the right.
I can't see anyone talking about this, or any option that could make me achieve that easily.
NSMenuItem* item1;
NSMenuItem* item2;
item1 = [[NSMenuItem alloc] init];
item2 = [[NSMenuItem alloc] init];
item1.title = "foo";
item2.title = "bar";
item1.action = @selector(fooAction);
item2.action = @selector(barAction);
NSMenu *menu = [[NSMenu alloc] init];
[menu addItem:item1];
[menu addItem:item2];
Last November 13 I came up with a phone keyboard layout (strategy) that can make key size bigger hence less mistyping.
The typical phone keyboard looks like this:
My proposed keyboard looks like this:
Essentially, it's a split keyboard with the left-hand part stacked above/below the right-hand part. Key size/width/height and the vertical distance between the left-hand part and right-hand part may be adjustable to suit different phone widths and user hand sizes.
You guys can show the proposed keyboard's image on your phone and fit this keyboard to your phone width so you can actually simulate typing on it to see how it feels. On my phone, the letter keys in it are a little too big for my thumbs to reach the farthest keys, but as I said, key size should be adjustable to suit different phone widths and user hand sizes.
Hi, I'm getting started with designing and coding a watchOS app. I wanted to use Sketch to plan the UI before I dive into coding, but it seems like the official Sketch templates on the Design Resources page only have templates for the Series 8 and SE 2 on watchOS 10. I want to use the Series 10's screen size for my layouts since it's the model I have, but I can't find a template for it. Will the official templates be updated for the new models? If not, does anyone know of a third-party template I can use? Thanks in advance!
Hi is there possibly to put text data or information into Roomplanapi elements like data wall color etc and export to usdz after lidar scan
I noticed a discrepancy between the Material specifications for tvOS on the Developer page and the naming in the Design Resources (Sketch files). Which one should we consider authoritative?

Hi,After I tried to submit my APP for review several times, it was still rejected for the following reasons: Guideline 4.1-Design-Copycats: The app or its metadata appears to contain potentially misleading content. Specifically, the app includes content that resembles ODIKING without the necessary authorization.
But odiking belongs to our company's product, I don't know the problem, I don't understand how to prove that this product does not belong to a third party content

We present a viewController by embedding it into a UINavigationController and then presenting that navigation controller.
let navigationController = UINavigationController(rootViewController: invCreateIssueViewController)
self.present(navigationController, animated: true)
The size of the presented view controller has reduced a lot in ipad in iOS 18. How do I get the same full screen presentation as iOS 17 in iOS 18?
Hello friends,
We are about to launch new app where we want to implement 3d animations that we designed in Cinema 4d and rendered it in Redshift render engine.
We worked with sRGB color profile and ACEScg colors profile which both works fine and display correct on Windows machines, but we got to the point where nothing is correct on Apple devices – simply we lost our colors, apple devices displays our 3d animation in a wrong way, since windows works fine.
Does anyone know the best workflow from Cinema 4d + Redshift + After Effects to match same colors on both systems and everywhere? We already tried youtube, adobe support, exporting it in EXR, PNG, JPG, LINEAR, TIFF, MP4 etc. – Importing it to After effects with sRGB workflow and ACEScg – it doesnt't work on Macbook, ipad, iphone etc.
Please help

Dear Developer, Is there a way to create a function to search with inside a text without having to be outside all of the messages? In other words, could I go into one of my contact’s texts and then search specifically inside that message as can be done on Android? This would be such an amazing function And make life so much easier. Thank you.
Hello everyone,
I have recently published my app on the App Store and am planning to implement ads. I have a couple of questions regarding Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework and best practices for integrating ads.
ATT Dialog and Showing Ads: If a user selects "Ask App Not to Track" on the ATT dialog, am I still allowed to show ads in my app? I understand that ATT restricts tracking for personalized ads, but does this mean I cannot show any ads at all, or is it just the personalized (targeted) ads that are restricted?
Best Practices for Implementing Native Ads: I want to integrate native ads into my app. Could you share any best practices or guidelines for integrating native ads in a way that provides a good user experience and complies with Apple's policies? I’m especially interested in how to implement them in a non-intrusive way and what ad networks are best for this type of integration.
Thanks for your help!
I found that on my cutomer's mac device, webflterproxyd start interferiing with the NE traffic. Tried to stop it, but "screen time" was not enabled at all.
Who started this webfilterproxyd process and how to stop it?
Hi,
Normally we need many shades of gray in any App and Apple system have only 3 , Primery, Secondary, and Gray, so to make Gray regress that automatically adapt to Dark Mode we just use opacity on these colors ? there's no system built in Gray degrees ?
Kind Regards
Building an app to edit the various parameters of digital musical instruments. A typical user would have perhaps max 6 instruments, out of the hundreds of possibilities.
Would like to structure the app with a global window, menu, etc which would be a free download. The user could download editor inserts for their particular set of instruments and ignore all of the others. The downloaded editors would show as options in a menu.
It seem like more than a widget but less than a library. Building a monolithic app containing all possible editors doesn't seem like an option, but separate full-app editors for each piece of gear doesn't sound right either.
Any suggestions out there?
Thanks very much
Brian
I'm developing an iPadOS 18+ application that uses a UITabBarController, styled as a sidebar, to serve as the primary navigation interface. This setup includes 20 different tabs, each representing a distinct section of the app.
For the user experience, each tab needs to present a master-detail interface, implemented using a UISplitViewController. The goal is to allow users to navigate between tabs via the sidebar, and within each tab, access related content through the split view's list-detail pattern.
The Problem:
Currently, my implementation involves instantiating a separate UISplitViewController for each tab, resulting in 20 unique split view instances embedded inside the UITabBarController. While this works functionally, it leads to significant memory usage, especially after the user opens each tab at least once. The accumulation of all these instantiated view controllers in memory eventually causes performance degradation or even memory warnings/crashes on lower-end iPads.
The Question:
What is the best approach to implement this type of architecture without running into memory management issues?
Specifically:
Is there a way to reuse or lazily load the UISplitViewController instances only when needed?
Can we unload or release split view controllers that haven't been used for a while to reduce memory pressure?
Would a custom container controller be more appropriate than using UITabBarController in this case?
Are there iPadOS 18+ best practices or newer APIs that support this kind of complex multi-tab, multi-split-view structure efficiently?
Any advice on how to optimize memory usage while preserving the sidebar navigation and split view layout would be highly appreciated.
