Hello,
I’ve noticed an issue with custom keyboard extensions in iOS 26 that seems specific to native apps. When a custom keyboard is opened in apps like Messages, Notes, or Safari, there’s an extra strip of native grey space around the left, right, and top edges of the keyboard.
This extra margin cannot be rendered over by the keyboard’s own views.
Interestingly, this behaviour does not occur in third-party apps like Instagram.
It also wasn’t present in earlier iOS versions.
The result is that keyboards with custom or non-grey backgrounds look visually inconsistent (they appear framed by unwanted grey).
Has anyone else run into this? Is this a known change in iOS 26, or could it be a bug? Any guidance or official clarification would be appreciated.

In Xcode 14 RC, I'm seeing this in the Console:
[Assert] UINavigationBar decoded as unlocked for UINavigationController, or navigationBar delegate set up incorrectly. The above message displays exactly four times immediately at app launch (top of the console) then does not repeat.
MasterNavigationController is the internal class for the app's navigation controller. It is in a Storyboard, with very minimal ObjC code. I am not setting any specific size for the nav bar.
I don't remember seeing this in earlier builds of Xcode, but I can't swear to it that this is new. No assertion actually fires.
I have a UITableView which contains a UICollectionView in the first row. It used to work fine in iOS17, but now I get a crash when running with Xcode 16 / iOS18 beta:
Expected dequeued view to be returned to the collection view in preparation for display. When the collection view's data source is asked to provide a view for a given index path, ensure that a single view is dequeued and returned to the collection view. Avoid dequeuing views without a request from the collection view. For retrieving an existing view in the collection view, use -[UICollectionView cellForItemAtIndexPath:] or -[UICollectionView supplementaryViewForElementKind:atIndexPath:]

In the WWDC 2025 session "Build a UIKit app with the with the new design", at the 23:22 mark, the presenter says:
And finally, when you no longer need the glass on screen animate it out by setting the effect to nil.
The video shows a UIVisualEffectView whose effect is set to a UIGlassEffect animating away as its effect is set to nil. But when I do this in my app (or a sample app), setting effect to nil does not remove the glass appearance. Is this expected? Is the video out of date? Or is this a bug?

We found that on devices running iOS 26.1 Beta, if we set the separator style of a UITableView to None via xib, the setting will have no effect and the table view cells will show separators.
To reproduce this issue, I created a simple project. Please refer to the following screenshots.
On iOS 26.0, no separator is showing.
However on iOS 26.1, separators are showing.
We have already filed a bug report FB20365301. We'd like to know if this is a bug and if it will be fixed before iOS 26.1 is officially released.

On iOS17, UIDevice.current.batteryLevel is returning values rounded to 0.05, such as 1, 0.95, 0.9. Which used to be a 1% granularity in iOS16. Is this a bug or a new feature?
When I build my app for iPad OS, either 26, or 18.5, as well as iOS on 16.5 from Xcode 26 with UIDesignRequiresCompatibility enabled my app is crashing as it loads the main UIViewController, a subclassed UITabBarController which is being loaded programatically from a Storyboard from another SplashScreen ViewController.
On i(Pad)OS 18.5 I get this error:

There is no issue building from Xcode 16.4, regardless of targeted i(Pad)OS.

Is it only to me or in iOS 18 there's a problem with Settings.bundle, Im using my settings.bundle to set my enivement for my app but after upgrading to iOS 18 I can't see my Settings.Bundle in my settings iphone,
just to mention that I also updated my xcode to 16.

unifieldFlexKeyboard[53102:24145174] [External] -[UIInputViewController needsInputModeSwitchKey] was called before a connection was established to the host application. This will produce an inaccurate result. Please make sure to call this after your primary view controller has been initialized.

In beta 2 using layer.cornerRadius on a UIEffectView with the UIGlassEffect allowed you to change the corner radius of the view. In beta 3, this no longer works. WWDC videos indicate the right way to do this is to set the cornerConfiguration on the UIEffectView, but that API doesn't seem to be available yet. At this time it doesn't seem like theres a way to have a glass view that isn't pill shaped.
This issue was in the first iOS 26 beta and it still there with Xcode 26 beta 6 (17A5305f). Feedback is FB18581605 and contains sample project to reproduce the issue.
I assign a target and action to a UISlider for the UIControl.Event.valueChanged value:

When printing the event value, there is a crash. When checking the event value with lldb, it appears uninitialized.
In WWDC25 video 284: Build a UIKit app with the new design, there is mention of a cornerConfiguration property on UIVisualEffectView. But this properly isn't documented and Xcode 26 isn't aware of any such property.
I'm trying to replicate the results of that video in the section titled Custom Elements starting at the 19:15 point. There is a lot of missing details and typos in the code associated with that video.
My attempts with UIGlassEffect and UIViewEffectView do not result in any capsule shapes. I just get rectangles with no rounded corners at all.
As an experiment, I am trying to recreate the capsule with the layers/location buttons in the iOS 26 version of the Maps app.

The result is pretty close other than the complete lack of capsule shape.
What changes would be needed to get the capsule shape? Is this even the proper approach?
Making the call as:
UIApplication.shared.open(websiteURL)
doesn't open the browser and gives the following in the console:
BUG IN CLIENT OF UIKIT: The caller of UIApplication.openURL(:) needs to migrate to the non-deprecated UIApplication.open(:options:completionHandler:). Force returning false (NO).
However, making the call as:
UIApplication.shared.open(websiteURL) { _ in }
opens the browser and there is nothing in the cosole.
Does someone understand why is this or if it's Apple's iOS 18 bug? In the iOS & iPadOS 18 RC Release Notes | Apple Developer Documentation there is a section around resolving this or something similar, unsure.

I faced up with strange issue in my app.
Everything works in iOS 18.0 and lower.
But after install iOS 18.1 same app from App Store crashes every time with error:

At start up instantiateViewControllerWithIdentifier works good with all view controllers identifiers. But on second call in other places in the app - all crash with same error
Reproduce in real device with iOS18.1 only. Simulators and devices with iOS 18.0 works well.
Could someone help me, what's wrong with the app?
Prior to iOS 26, it was possible to design an inputAccessoryView(Controller) that would integrate seamlessly with the system keyboard, by which I mean appearing as a natural extension of the system keyboard. For example, using CYRKeyboardButton https://github.com/tmcintos/CYRKeyboardButton.
To date, I have successfully used this to provide an enhanced numeric key row within my apps, which is a distinguishing feature of these apps. It took a lot of engineering and testing effort to perfect this design. However, with iOS 26 the design is completely broken due to the system keyboard UI change, which makes it impossible to display an inputAccessoryView seamlessly along the top of the system keyboard (see attached screenshots).
In my opinion, it is just plain reckless for Apple to make these kinds of trivial UI changes, which break existing app designs without adding any significant value to the user experience.

Using the iOS 26 beta simulator, I am experiencing a crash using the QLPreviewController. This is easily reproduced using a small sample app and a sample excel file in the bundle. It does work in prior Xcode 16.4 and simulators (18.5). I didn't find any mention of this in Xcode 26 or iOS 26 release notes but I could have missed something. I don't have a spare device to update to iOS 26 and try on a real device so it may just be a simulator issue? Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks.

I noticed that trying to access safeAreaInsets from the active window causes an infinite run loop.
This issue appeared after updating to Beta 3.

The return doesn’t happen because it ends up in some kind of recursion.
In iOS26, when using a standalone UITabBar without UITabBarController, the liquid glass blur effect is not applied when scrollable content moves behind the tab bar. However, the blur effect appears correctly when using UITabBarController.

I'm running into a persistent problem with the iOS 18.5 simulator in Xcode 26 beta 2. I have built a very simple test app with a storyboard that includes only a toolbar added to the ViewController scene in the storyboard. The test app runs fine in iOS 26 simulators.When I try to run it in the iOS 18.5 simulator for iPhone Pro or iPad (16), it fails while unarchiving the storyboard (as far as I can tell) with this error message in the Xcode console:

I'd love a simple workaround for this.
I have a few view controllers in a large UIKit application that previously started showing content right below the bottom of the top navigation toolbar.
When testing the same code on iOS 26, these same views have their content extend under the navigation bar and toolbar. I was able to fix it with:

when running on iOS 26. I also fixed one or two places where the main view was anchored to self.view.topAnchor instead of self.view.safeAreaLayoutGuide.topAnchor.
Although this seems to work, I wonder if this was an intended change in iOS 26 or just a temporary bug in the beta that will be resolved.
Were changes made to the safe area and edgesForExtendedLayout logic in iOS 26? If so, is there a place I can see what the specific changes were, so I know my code is handling it properly?
