Reply to How to Fix Cracking and Popping Sound ?
I found matching the audio format and bit rate on all of my audio devices to help the random pops/clips occurring during audio playback. This can be done in the Audio Midi Setup menu. By default, OSX had some audio devises set to 44.1k and others on 48k, some at 16 bit, others at 24 bit. When I had matched the format and bit rate on all connected audio devices to 48k and 24 bit, the pops and clips were reduced dramatically. I would also note my device did not operate well at 44.1k. I would also recommend disabling bluetooth devices, as this has been known to cause issues as well. Hope this helps my fellow audio lovers experiencing these clip/pop playback issues.

Just to add - I actually use external speakers on my Macbook Pro M1 Pro chip - and they also pop. I recently replaced them because I thought it might be the device or a short in the cabling... but no. It's the device. I moved the same speakers over to my Windows desktop, and they didn't pop once. The pop is loud enough, and frequent enough (even when I'm not listening to audio) that I have to unplug them every night. Which for how expensive this device was, is inexcusable. I am require to use Apple products for work, but I'll never understand this obsession.

NSAttributedString & Peek and Pop
Hey,I'm using UITextView with NSAttributedString to show links, which automatically makes the links peek and pop, which is great! What I'm struggling with is finding a way to pop in to an SFSafariViewController instead of popping into Safari.app. Is there any way to pop into a custom view (or just SFSafariViewController) or do I have to implement peek and pop myself to get that? Thanks!

Reply to Project Won't Build with .h File
Today I upgraded to MAC OS 12.6.7. After I restarted my mac XCode asked me to install additional shared components. I did. This didn't help. According to XCode Help You can go to File > Project Settings... This will show a panel that will have a pop-up menu to select either the old or new Build System. This sounded promising but unfortunately In XCode 14.2 there isn't really any pop-up menu to do this. No help from DTS.

Peek and Pop in WKWebView
Hey guys, setting the allowsLinkPreview property YES automatically enables the new Peek and Pop feature in a WKWebView. It's working properly but there's one thing that bothers, though. Pressing a link a little deeper to Pop into the webpage opens Safari instead of showing the newly opened page in the app's WKWebView. Is there a way to evade this behavior? I appreciate any help you can provide!! Thanks a bunch!Kind regards,Alex

Reply to Components with Earcon haptic feedback for VoiceOver users
Hey thanks for the great question! The sounds and haptics you hear and feel from VoiceOver are controlled by the system. There is not an interface for third party apps to instruct VoiceOver to play certain sounds necessarily. When a screen changed notification gets sent to VoiceOver for example, the system plays a sound to let the user know a big layout change occurred and that the VoiceOver cursor is getting repositioned. In a sense you can accomplish this too in your app by posting a screen changed or layout changed notification, but in terms of playing other sounds for new rows, entering/exiting containers, or interacting with pop up menus are not sounds you can play explicitly.

Reply to Big Sur freezes after screen unlock
I’m having this same issue without Yubikey in which hitting any key yields a system notification sound. The only thing that fixes it is a hard reboot. I think there is some warning/notification pop-up somewhere on the desktop associated with an app or service that is preventing users from entering text before acting on or dismissing it. The problem is that this pop-up is, evidently, invisible. The last time this happened I shut down and the last thing I could see before the screen went dark was an error pop-up that I couldn’t find when it was on. It flashed only for a split second and I couldn’t make out what it was related to. Just a hunch, but if there’s a way to see all active pop-ups that require input we’d probably find the culprit; I think this is a bug associated with a hidden pop-up.

How to add a pop up?
i would like a little check mark or something pop up in the middle of the screen when the user presses the done button. I kind of can do it but the biggest problem is the done button is in a table view so simply getting the screen size doesnt work. ThanksMatthew Warner

How to pop a NavigationButton programmatically?
So you can put a NavigationButton in a NavigationView and use the button destination to push a new View on the stack. Cool. You can click the back button in the nav bar to go back. Also cool. But how in the world do you pop the view programatically, say, like when a user hits a submit button and you've validated his entry?

Reply to How to Fix Cracking and Popping Sound ?
2021 Macbook Pro, 16, M1 with similar, short crackle/pop/fart sounds at any volume, which has worsened to roughly every 1-2 minutes. Did anyone have a permanent fix by taking it to the Apple Store?

Reply to USB Audio Failing
Beta 4 now installed and clicking/popping still present through Audioqest Dragonfly 1.2. Unable to test at present on other USB DAC but may do so later today. Suspect an ongoing USB Audio issue in 10.11.
