It says: "There are still screenshot uploads in progress." when submit a new build

I'm submitting a new version of my app, and after click "submit for Review", it show that:

A few more items are needed in order to submit for review
The items listed below are required for submission:

  • There are still screenshot uploads in progress.

I didn't met this problem before. Is that mean I haven't upload all the screenshot required or it's still uploading the screenshots to App Store Connect's server? Cause before there is a "save" button after you drag images to the screenshots area, now you don't.And I think I have uploaded all the screenshots needed and I waited a day to try submit again, still the same.

What should I do?

Using a private window in safari browser works!

Choose File > New Private Window

Nothing else worked for me until I opened a new private window in safari and then they uploaded just fine.

I am having the exact same issue. How did everyone get this fixed? It says Unable to Add for Review

The items below are required to start the review process:

There are still preview uploads in progress.

How do I fix this? It does not identify what is the problem file? And I uploaded for all different countries!

Alright I've carefully examined each screenshot in the Media Manager. I've deleted and reuploaded them. I've re-ordered them, saved, and tried to resubmit. I went into the Developer Tools to search for the "state" like someone recommended. I tried logging in, logging out, chrome, and safari. I literally removed all of the non-English screenshots from the app. Still the same error message: "There are still attachment uploads in progress."

I went into the media manager where it expands all the iphone models etc. noticed the transparancies warning so re-exported images from canva without transparent background and it fixed it. Also before I did that deleted all the images going through each iphone model until there where no images left. only than uploaded again and it worked.

This exact issue is still reproducible for us in July 2026 on a first iOS submission.

Since June 11, App Store Connect has blocked "Add for Review" with "There are still screenshot uploads in progress." The screenshots are visible after reloading, but Media Manager shows no active upload and no grey placeholder that can be deleted. We have checked every visible device size and localization, removed and re-uploaded the screenshots, waited, tried different browsers and sessions, and uploaded newer TestFlight builds. The version remains blocked.

Apple Developer Support has the case under investigation and we filed Feedback Assistant report FB23792215.

For developers who had the same condition with no visible grey placeholder: did Apple need to clear a hidden screenshot set or upload job on the App Store Connect backend? If you resolved it yourself, could you share the exact sequence that finally cleared the state?
