Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification Issues
Hi, You're here because you've had issues with your implementation of Wallet Extensions for Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification. To prevent sending sensitive credentials in plain text, create a new report in Feedback Assistant to share the details requested below with the appropriate log profiles installed. Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification Issues While troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification, it is essential that the issuer is able to collect logs on their device and check those logs for error message. This is also essential when reporting issues to Apple. To gather the required data for your own debugging as well as reporting issues, please perform the following steps on the test device: Install the Apple Pay and Wallet profiles on your iOS or watchOS device. If the issue occurs on Mac, continue to Step 2. Reproduce the issue and make a note of the timestamp when the issue occurred, while optionally capturing screenshots or video. Gather a sysdiagnose on the same iOS or watchOS device, or on macOS. Create a Feedback Assistant report with the following information: The bundle IDs App bundle ID Non-UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable) UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable) The serial number of the device. For iOS and watchOS: Open Settings > General > About > Serial Number (tap and hold to copy). For macOS: Open the Apple () menu > About This Mac > Serial Number. The SEID (Secure Element Identifier) of the device, represented as a HEX encoded string. For iOS and watchOS: Open Settings > General > About > SEID (tap and hold to copy). For macOS: Open the Apple () menu > About This Mac > System Report > NVMExpress > Serial Number. The sysdiagnose gathered after reproducing the issue. The timestamp (including timezone) of when the issue was reproduced. The type of provisioning failure (e.g., error at Terms & Conditions, error when adding a card, etc.) The issuer/network/country of the provisioned card (e.g., Mastercard – US) Last 4 digits of the FPAN Last 4 digits of the DPAN (if available) Was this test initiated from the Issuer App? (e.g., yes or no) The type of environment (e.g., sandbox or production) Screenshots or videos of errors and unexpected behaviors (optional). Important: From the logs gathered above, you should be able to determine the cause of the failure from PassbookUIService, PassKit or PassKitCore, and by filtering for your SEID or bundle ID of your app or app extensions in the Console app. Submitting your feedback Before you submit to Feedback Assistant, please confirm the requested information above is included in your feedback. Failure to provide the requested information will only delay my investigation into the reported issue within your Apple Pay client. After your submission to Feedback Assistant is complete, please respond in your existing Developer Forums post with the Feedback ID. Once received, I can begin my investigation and determine if this issue is caused by an error within your client, a configuration issue within your developer account, or an underlying system bug. Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Apple Pay on the Web Merchant Issues
Hi, To ensure the issue is not caused by an error within your app or web service request, please review the Apple Pay Merchant Integration Guide. Additionally, please review the following technotes on Apple Pay: TN3173: Troubleshooting issues with your Apple Pay merchant identifier configuration TN3174: Diagnosing issues with the Apple Pay payment sheet on your website TN3175: Diagnosing issues with displaying the Apple Pay button on your website TN3176: Troubleshooting Apple Pay payment processing issues If the resources above don’t help identify the cause of the error, please provide more information about your app or web services to get started. To prevent sending sensitive credentials in plain text, create a report in Feedback Assistant to share the details requested below. Additionally, if the error is something we need to investigate further, the appropriate engineering teams also have access to the same information and can communicate with you directly within Feedback Assistant for more information, as needed. Please follow the instructions below to submit your report. For issues occurring with your native app or web service, perform the following steps: Install the Apple Pay profile on your iOS or watchOS device. If the issue occurs on Mac, continue to Step 2. Reproduce the issue and make a note of the timestamp when the issue occurred, while optionally capturing screenshots or video. Gather a sysdiagnose on the same iOS or watchOS device, or on macOS. Create a Feedback Assistant report with the following information: The serial number of the device. The timestamp of when the issue was reproduced. Screenshots or videos of errors and unexpected behaviors (optional). Important: From the logs gathered above, you should be able to determine the cause of the failure from PassbookUIService, PassKit or PassKitCore, and by filtering for your SEID or merchant domain in the Safari Web Inspector. Issue with Top-Up Flow on iPhone 14 Pro Max (iOS 18.6.2) in TestFlight
Hi Apple Team and Developers, I’ve been testing the Top-up flow in our app via the TestFlight environment. Across multiple devices (around 10 tested), everything works fine with no issues. However, on one specific device — iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 18.6.2 — I’ve noticed an intermittent issue: When performing a Top-up, the Apple UI first shows a successful purchase confirmation. Immediately afterward, another UI prompt appears asking the player to re-enter their Apple ID password. At the same time, Apple returns a ghost string that we cannot use to verify the user’s package bundle ID. This creates potential confusion for users, as they see both a success confirmation and an unexpected password prompt. I’m unsure if this behavior is expected or if there’s a recommended way to handle or prevent this issue. Has anyone else encountered something similar, or does Apple have a suggested fix/workaround for this? For reference, here’s a short video of the issue in action: \🔗 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ml-QpEu4ocoxn-W3wEMsFMbXy2QdwbHB/view?usp=sharing Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support!

HCE Permission and Background Access for Corporate NFC Integration
Hello, We are currently developing an application that uses the Host-based Card Emulation (HCE) entitlement to enable corporate access functionality. With this entitlement, we have successfully established HCE communication and can interact with our access control systems to unlock doors. Our question is related to improving the user experience: We would like this access functionality to work without requiring the app to be in the foreground, as this adds friction for users during entry. Specifically, we would like to know: Is it possible for our app to coexist with Apple Wallet as the default contactless app, so that: Our app handles NFC interactions for corporate access (e.g., opening doors). Apple Wallet remains the default for payments. If that coexistence is not possible, and our app is set as the default contactless app, Will the system still need to launch our app into the foreground to complete a transaction (e.g., to emulate the NFC card)? Or is there a way to trigger HCE responses in the background (e.g., using a background process or service extension)? Any guidance on how to configure the app for optimal background access behavior, while maintaining compatibility with Wallet, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Integrating Apple Pay into an HTML inline frame (iframe) on your website
iOS 16 and earlier On iOS 16 and earlier, Apple Pay on the Web required Safari—and all interactions with the Apple Pay API to come from the parent/top level page. In order to facilitate the Apple Pay button in an HTML inline frame (iframe), there will need to be cross frame communication between the child and parent pages. Cross frame communication should be secure and robust, therefore the use of postMessage for this purpose is recommended. The expectation is for all communication with Apple Pay to occur from the parent page, so the iframe must relay all Apple Pay related events to the parent to handle. Some examples: Apple Pay availability: The parent calls applePayCapabilities, then sends the message of the response to the iframe, which then uses the value to toggle the visibility of the Apple Pay button. Apple Pay session: The iframe receives an onclick() event when the Apple Pay button is clicked and sends the message to the parent (providing details about the transaction). The parent create the payment request to obtain the session validation URL, and eventually receive session credentials and invokes completeMerchantValidation() to prevent the payment sheet. After the payment is authorized by the Payment Service Provider (PSP), the parent either: Redirects the parent page to a payment success page; or Sends a message to the iframe to complete the transaction flow itself. iOS 17 and later On IOS 17 and later, the iframe HTML element should include the allow="payment" attribute, which should facilitate the cross frame communications instead of needing a dedicated JavaScript library. This means all of the Apple Pay code/calls can reside in the iframe page—which is typically a hosted page from a Payment Service Provider (PSP), all the parent page—typically a merchant—has to do is add the attribute mentioned above to the iframe element. Important: Regardless of the iOS version, the PSP/merchant always needs to make sure the parent page domain is the one registered in the Developer portal, and used in the request to generate a merchant session via ApplePaySession. Accessing Full Apple Pay Transaction Data in AppIntents
I'm currently working on an AppIntent in my app to import Apple Pay transactions via Transaction triggers in Shortcuts. While I can access the transaction name with the following code: @Parameter(title: "Transaction") var transaction: String I'm not sure how to retrieve the full details of the transaction, including: Card or Pass Merchant Amount Name At the moment, transaction only provides the name as a string, but I need access to the complete transaction data. I know that by selecting specific fields like Amount, Merchant, etc., I can retrieve each piece of data individually, but it would be much easier and more user-friendly to simply retrieve the entire transaction object at once. Has anyone successfully retrieved all details of an Apple Pay transaction in this context, and if so, could you share how to do so?

iOS Subscriptions in Russia – Is Apple In-App Purchase mandatory or can local providers be used?
Hello, We are working on integrating billing into our dating app, targeted at the Russian market. Our main requirement is to support subscriptions with automatic renewal and cancellation. We understand that, according to App Store Review Guideline, all digital subscriptions should use Apple In-App Purchase (IAP). However, we are unsure how this applies in Russia, where some local regulations may limit the use of non-Russian payment processors, and where not all Russian bank cards are accepted by Apple. Our question is: -For iOS apps in Russia, is it strictly required to use Apple IAP for subscriptions? -Are there any approved exceptions allowing integration with local processors such as Robokassa or YooKassa? -How are other developers currently handling subscriptions for the Russian market? We want to ensure full compliance and avoid any risk of rejection or removal. Thank you in advance for any clarification. Best regards, Dan

mFi - WPC certification support
I am trying to get a pass reader certified through the mFi / WPC certification process. The problem I have is that the Certifier app will not allow testing results to be submitted due to some missing information. I need support to discuss the missing information, but I have received no replies from the email provided for WPC Certification Representative. Does anyone here know how to get support for the WPC Certification process?

Default payment method option bug?
Hi team at Apple, here is a scenario we came across: The order of priority of payment methods in Apple Wallet follows: Credit Debit Apple Cash Our app displays a payment sheet that excludes credit cards. Instead of a debit card, the default payment option shown to the user on the payment sheet is Apple Cash. Is this a known issue or have we configured something wrong in our end?

The app icon is not appearing under the "From Apps on Your iPhone" section in Apple Wallet.
Hello, We are integrating Apple Wallet functionality using the Thales SDK. While we’ve successfully implemented In-App provisioning, we are encountering an issue with the Wallet Extension. I followed the documentation provided here to implement the Apple Wallet Extension: https://developer.dbp.thalescloud.io/docs/d1-developer-portal/ab10ea4059dx1-apple-wallet-extension I’ve implemented everything as per the guide, but I’m still unable to see my app logo in the Wallet Extension under "From Apps on Your iPhone." Could anyone help identify what might be missing or point me in the right direction to resolve this issue. Thanks!

PKAddPaymentPassError
please bear with me, i am NOT a developer. we have third party developer creating a banking app that is throwing an error when trying to provision MasterCard for Apple Pay. MasterCard says they do not see the request come in at all. our developer says the issue is between mastercard and apple - and asked us to reach out to Apple. Information provided from our developer: “Error code 2 is 'system cancelled' from the PKAddPaymentPassError enum. Basically, there is an issue between Apple and Mastercard (using the encrypted card info from...” Response from Mastercard Connect: Upon further research with the examples you shared we are not seeing any attempt that reached to MC

ApplePay: Flexible payments/scheduling
On Applepay's docs it talks about the ability to do "flexible" payments and scheduling for future purchases. We need to be able to make only a single approval of an Apple payment for multiple submissions later on. Think, deferred payments at an arbitrary schedule without presenting the ApplePay dialog each and every time. The docs suggest that may be possible, but are maddeningly vague on how to do that. Is it possible or not? Can we store an approved merchant's token for example and leverage that for future transactions?

Apple Pay: Renewal of Domains fails and get redirected to main page without errors
Hello, we are trying to extend the dates of verified domains following the docs of https://developer.apple.com/documentation/applepayontheweb/maintaining-your-environment#Renew-Your-Domain-Verification and configured the server following https://developer.apple.com/documentation/ApplePayontheWeb/setting-up-your-server we've download the apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.txt and update them on their respective locations, click 'ok' button and we get redirected to the main page of the merchant certificate, but the expiration dates have not been extended, we can see on our web crawler that Apple Requested the file and it return a 200. No popup errors are shown, no console developer error we only get redirected to the merchant certificate information page.

Decrypting Apple Token
I am currently working on decrypting Apple Pay tokens with Laravel PHP, and I have encountered a few uncertainties regarding the decryption process and the usage of AES-GCM. Could you please clarify the following points: Algorithm Confirmation: Am I using the correct algorithm for decrypting the data key? Specifically, I am utilizing AES-256-GCM with the algorithm ID "id-aes256-GCM" (2.16.840.1.101.3.4.1.46), as specified in the documentation. Is this the recommended algorithm for decrypting the Apple Pay token's data key? Authentication Tag: In the decryption process, it seems that an authentication tag is required, but I am not sure where to obtain it from. Could you confirm how the authentication tag is generated or provided during the encryption process? If the tag is part of the token or is transmitted separately, could you clarify where I can retrieve it in order to proceed with the decryption successfully? IV and Other Parameters: I am using an initialization vector (IV) of 16 null bytes (00000000000000000000000000000000) as specified in the documentation. Could you confirm that this is correct and aligns with the expected parameters for the AES-GCM decryption? Are there any other specific parameters or considerations I should be aware of when implementing the decryption of Apple Pay tokens? GCM vs Other Encryption Modes: Can you confirm that AES-GCM is the preferred and required encryption mode, or is there any flexibility to use other modes (e.g., AES-CBC) without compromising security? Your guidance would be greatly appreciated to ensure I am following the correct decryption procedure for Apple Pay tokens. Thank you in advance for your support.
