Request: Unlock full custom date setting on iPad (even pre-2001) with internet on
I’d like to request a feature in iPadOS that allows the system date to be set to any value — even before January 1, 2001 — without disabling or breaking internet access.
This is important for:
Historical and educational simulations
Timeline-sensitive app testing
Calendar research and UI behavior in legacy periods
Currently, iPadOS blocks dates before 2001. It also may bug out or disable networking features when dates are changed too far back.
📎 I've submitted this request to Apple via the official Feedback Form, and I’ve created a public GitHub repo to invite further support:

If other developers support this, please reply or upvote. Thanks!

The camera/microphone usage light comes on whenever I switch apps. The only thing it shows when I try to see what app is accessing the camera or microphone is What it’s accessin: Camera and the app that is accessing Camera is the Camera app… shouldn’t it show the process or app that is using the Camera app to access the camera?
Hi all, I’m trying to add a file to a game on my iPhone via my MacBook. Now we have no iTunes connecting with the cable brings up the same menus however I’m being told I have to reset my iPhone back to factory settings to do this (see attached). I’m on IOS26 beta 6. A couple of questions
I’ve backed up via iCloud, if I reset would I be able to reset it right back to my current set up with the beta, would I lose anything?
Is there another way to connect to my
MacBook to enable access to the games and files that would allow me to do a minor change without having to reset?
Cannot download FCPX that was purchased few yerars ago on Macbook pro with Tahoe OS beta. App do not show on my downloaded apps
Hello, when I got it, I updated it, but the battery life has decreased. Please advise. My battery health is 99%. It's been a few months since I bought the phone.
As developers of an app with a free basic version and a paid premium version, we recently received a malicious review on our premium app. The review falsely accused our app of being a scam and baselessly claimed it was error-ridden. This comment is clearly malicious and designed to dissuade other users from purchasing our app. The most critical point is that we haven’t had any sales records in that region recently.
In response to this review, we promptly contacted Apple Support but received only a generic, templated response stating that no action would be taken. We followed up with another complaint about the review, but it was still dismissed. Apple Support provided a link to their guidelines, and within those guidelines, we found specific clauses that Apple should act upon in cases like this. We sent another email pointing this out, but we’ve received no response since.
It feels like developers are left defenseless against such malicious reviews. When we face these attacks, there’s no fair judgment, and Apple doesn’t uphold the very policies it has set to protect developers’ rights. If this continues, how can developers trust this platform to safeguard their basic interests?

Hey everyone, I’m new to here and have very basic Knowledge so was hoping one of you geniuses could help me.
I have had my devices hacked into remotely and monitored remotely for a number of weeks now. I have done all the security measures including erasing, new phone, sim, Vpns etc and still have the issue of my phone network being accessed.
I believe code has been added to my phone or apps but I just don’t know what it looks like. I was hoping someone could take a look at some code for me and help me work it out as it has been driving me nuts.
im not sure if I can post this on here so apologies if I offend anyone by doing so but I would be ever so grateful of some help. Thank you. Paul
Hi! I am very new to the apple ecosystem. I saw a lot of comments online about how Stage Manager enabled iPads have access to extending the screen to an external display, and that was what hyped me about this beta. Unfortunately, while i do have Stage Manager now, the display is still unwilling to be extended. Is that a feature that’s planned to be included in the OS? Or am i just out of luck? The ipad is one of the most capable devices i have so i was kind of hoping it would get the feature. It has an A11 chip.
Ok, so I’ve downloaded iOS 26 for the iPhone and iPad and there are a couple of points bugging me.
Why oh why would somebody think that it was a good idea to remove the ability to scroll through photos in a folder in files?
Where in their tiny minds did they think that opening a photo, viewing said photo, then closing photo to then open the next photo in sequence was a better or more productive way than just swiping left and right?
I mean, seriously!!!
And why the need for a separate Preview app when it worked fine opening files in the Files app?!
I deleted the Preview app from my iPhone to see what difference it would make, but alas it made things worse. Now, because there’s no Preview app, Files wants to open my photos in an image editing app called Afterlite!
I checked settings for the files app, and the only options I have for opening photos are Afterlite (which it’s decided to make default), the Photoshop app, or iMovie!
Does anyone have any ideas how to get photos stored in the Files app to open IN the Files app or at least the Photos app?
Just when I thought they’d come to their senses and sorted out that god awful iOS 18 Photos app, they go and do something like this!
Also, can someone explain to me what the point is of having a month and year view in the Photos app?
When I sort by month and pick a particular month or date in a month, instead of showing just those images taken that month, it just takes you back to the view with ALL of your photos?
Surely if you have thousands of photos on your device and you want to see only photos on a particular date, it would make sense to show only the photos from that date.
Even if it generated automatic albums under the album view for each month and year that would be something!
Content written a day earlier and saved, is today only showing partially. It seems the software did not save the content completely.

When I go to update my iPad Pro 4th gen to iPadOS 26 beta3 and click the update now button, the screen to enter my passcode comes up but is blacken there is NO keypad. reboots do not fix this and waiting sure hasn't. Is anyone else having this issue and is there a fix?
Hello :-)
I‘m not entirely sure, if I‘m on the correct Place here. But I would like to report some Bugs with tvOS 26 (Beta 6) to the Apple Engineers!
Description
I am reporting multiple persistent UI animation issues observed in tvOS 26 (Beta 3). These issues have been reproducible across multiple tvOS releases. They are subtle but noticeable, and they affect the overall polish and perceived quality of the system.
I am happy to provide high-quality video captures for each of the issues described below.
⸻
Bug #1: App launch animation stutter/jump
Summary: The zoom-in animation from a Springboard icon to full-screen app stutters or jumps at the moment the app becomes full screen.
Steps to reproduce:
1. On Springboard, select any app icon.
2. Observe the zoom-in animation.
Expected result: Smooth, continuous zoom without frame drops or jumps.
Actual result: Animation visibly stutters/jumps at the full-screen transition.
Possible cause: Timing issue in Core Animation interpolation or abrupt view hierarchy switch.
⸻
Bug #2: Text rendering weight change (“jump”) during transitions
Summary: Text inside apps changes visual weight mid-transition from scaled preview to full screen.
Steps to reproduce:
1. From Springboard or App Switcher, launch an app with visible text.
2. Observe text during the zoom animation — initially slightly bolder, then thinner once full screen.
Also occurs in:
• Top Shelf banners in the Dock
• App Switcher → full-screen transitions
Expected result: Consistent text rendering throughout the transition.
Actual result: Visible “pop” in text weight/anti-aliasing during transition.
Possible cause: Different rasterization/anti-aliasing mode between preview snapshot (CALayer.contents) and live CoreText/UIKit rendering.
⸻
Bug #3: Focus shadow jumps instead of interpolating smoothly
Summary: Shadows around focused UI elements (icons, buttons) change abruptly during focus transitions.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Navigate between focusable UI elements on Springboard or in apps.
2. Observe the shadow effects.
Expected result: Shadows interpolate smoothly (offset, opacity, radius) during focus transitions.
Actual result: Shadows “jump” abruptly, breaking animation smoothness.
Possible cause: UIFocusEngine not interpolating shadow parameters consistently.
⸻
Bug #4: Abrupt jumps when swiping horizontally between content items
Summary: In horizontally scrollable poster/content rows, focus snaps abruptly instead of scrolling smoothly.
Steps to reproduce:
1. In the TV app or any app with horizontal poster rows, swipe left/right.
2. Observe the transition between focused items.
Expected result: Smooth horizontal navigation with continuous motion.
Actual result: Occasional abrupt snapping/jumping between items.
⸻
Impact
While none of these bugs block core functionality, they degrade the premium feel and visual polish of tvOS. They are persistent across releases and occur in core system UI, so they are visible to all users.
Note
I can provide video recordings for each bug to assist engineering in reproducing and analyzing the issues.

I'm a Beta user for iOS 26. I update my iPhone whenever there is an update. The issue that I found out is, "my Microphone is ON the whole day & night (24 x 7 - There is an orange dot in my dynamic island area), which is also draining my battery faster. The overall performance has also come down.
I gave microphone permission to only 3-4 apps (i.e. WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, Alexa etc.), so there is no problem in the settings.
I'm attaching one image here, which shows that iPhone is cont. using my mic.

When printing to paper from Pages in iOS 26 Beta, the top, bottom and sides margins become larger comparing with iOS 18. Hope this wil fix in the next beta or the final version. Thanks.

So, I started with the developer beta on Tahoe a couple months ago. I gave the new Apps.app a fair shot.... I HATE it. Finally used a terminal work around to get Launchpad back up and running. Now with the release of the Public Beta and Developer Beta 5, Apple has nerfed the Launchpad.app altogether. Apple, listen to your customers. Yes some people really love spotlight but not everyone wants to scroll through a list of apps as long as my leg because, my PTSD brain won't let me remember the name of the app to type into spotlight. The Launchpad app had a great visual reference for those of us with poor memory function. Bring it back, and let your customers choose which one they want to use.
After updating to the newest beta on my iPhone 16 I'm stuck on this screen after accepting the terms:
No Internet Connection
Setup and activation of Apple Intelligence is unavailable when your device is offline. Connect to the internet and try again.
I tried several different networks and 5G but no luck..
I usually connect my iPad Pro M1 to an external monitor via the USB-C port without any issues. However, after updating to iPadOS 26 Beta 5 and now Beta 6, the connection no longer works.
To troubleshoot, I tested other devices and setups:
Tried connecting a wireless mouse via a 2.4GHz USB receiver - no response.
Tried connecting the iPad to my MacBook via USB-C to USB-C cable - not recognized.
Both the external monitor and mouse still work perfectly with my MacBook Air (macOS 18.6). This leads me to believe there may be a problem with the iPad’s USB-C data transfer functionality.
I’ve checked the iPadOS 26 Beta Release Notes and found no mention of this issue.
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Has Apple acknowledged it or provided any updates?
Thanks for your help!
I'm working on a video player app that has the basic functionality of viewing a video and then be able to trim and crop that video and then save it.
My flow of trimming a video and then saving it works well with any and every video.
Cropping, however, doesn't work in the sense that I am unable to Save the video and export it.
Whenever I crop a video, in the video player, I can see the cropped version of the video (it plays too!)
but on saving said video, I get the error:
Export failed with status: 4, error: Cannot Decode
I've been debugging for 2 days now but I'm still unsure as to why this happens.
I'm almost certain the bug is somewhere cause of cropping and then saving/exporting.
If anyone has dealt with this before, please let me know what the best step to do is! If you could help me refine the flow for cropping and exporting, that'd be really helpful too.
Thanks!
