The Right Side of my MacBook is Unclickable!
I have a 2013 13-inch MacBook Pro and for some wild reason, the right side of my screen has become untouchable. My mouse icon can go over to that side of the screen and even click the clock and search icons above. But on the main screen, both in an application, web browser, or on the desktop, it won't click nor even let me drag any files over. I have reset, powered down and powered it up, tried zooming in and out but alas, nothing works. Please, help!

Strange error in com.apple.speech.localspeechrecognition that doesn't affect output?
While running Swift's SpeechRecognition capabilities I get the error below. However, the app successfully transcribes the audio file. So am not sure how worried I have to be, as well, would like to know that if when that error occurred, did that mean that the app went to the internet to transcribe that file? Yes, requiresOnDeviceRecognition is set to false. Would like to know what that error meant, and how much I need to worry about it? Received an error while accessing com.apple.speech.localspeechrecognition service: Error Domain=kAFAssistantErrorDomain Code=1101 "(null)"

The Future of Native Development
Hello, Apple Developer Community, In recent years, I've found myself increasingly concerned about the future of native ecosystems (iOS, Android), and I'd like to share my thoughts with you. It seems that small startups and cost-conscious companies are increasingly opting for cross-platform technologies like React Native, Flutter, and WebView, aiming to reduce expenses and speed up development cycles. Even large companies are following this trend in many cases. While this approach may be efficient from a business perspective, can it truly match the quality of user experience (UX) provided by native interfaces? Personally, I don't believe it does. There are undeniable advantages to cross-platform (or web-based) development, including rapid deployment and quick updates, as well as the ability to incorporate user feedback without going through a review process at every iteration. However, from my experience, once the initial version of a product has been somewhat stabilized, most companies tend to stick with cross-platform rather than transitioning to native development. In South Korea, where I am based, interest in native development education and entry-level training is on the decline. Most students and educational institutions favor frontend or backend development, and even mobile development curricula often prioritize cross-platform approaches. If this trend continues, we may face a shortage of native developers in the long run, which could lead companies to fall back on cross-platform solutions. This cyclical trend raises questions about whether a career in native development will continue to hold its advantages. On the surface, Apple appears invested in maintaining and expanding the native ecosystem. However, in practice, I feel that support for startups and smaller businesses trying to approach native development has been limited. I believe platform providers like Apple should place more focus on sustaining this ecosystem by providing practical, accessible support. (Perhaps including something as extreme as requiring a minimum percentage of native development?) I'm curious to hear what other developers in the community, particularly those who work extensively with Apple platforms, think about this shift. I'd appreciate hearing a variety of perspectives on this topic. Thank you.

I am unable to add my Apple MagSafe Wallet to my iPhone
Exact same issues on my old leather MagSafe wallet, so I brought a new one from the Apple Store ‘blackberry’ colour. Yep that’s a word we don’t hear often in tech anymore. Anyway, I’ve reported it in all versions of iOS 18.1 when in beta and they still exist in iOS 18.2 beta 1. I’ve removed them, restarted phone to no avail unfortunately.

CarPlay issues with my new LEXUS LBX
Hello, I am experiencing an issue with my new Lexus LBX car. The phone will not respond to ‘Hey Siri’ when i want to make a phone call or ask for directions. A manual approach through the cars infotainment system works and Spotify seems to work okay, but the system will not respond to a voice. The iPhone itself works fine with voice commands when not connected to my Lexus.

Using Apps (like Messages, Voicemail, Slack) on iPhone while using CarPlay.
I am frequently a passenger in the car but we use my phone for CarPlay. Before the latest update, I could still use my phone to send messages, review transcript of voicemail messages and read/send message on Slack while being connected to CarPlay. However, now am unable to do so. The entire car has to listen to my text message exchange or my work slack messages. I have gone through just about every setting/function in my phone trying to figure out how to get functionality back in my iPhone while being connected to CarPlay but I can't find anything that has worked. I have tried removing my car from CarPlay and reconnecting it but that did not work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

CarPlay won't use cellular data
Hello, two months ago, I got a 2024 Volkswagen ID.4. At first, there was a free trial of a hotspot through Verizon. It was fine, but I'd rather use my phone's cellular data. Not long after that, I installed the iOS 18.1 beta. That's when I noticed that my phone was offline when connected to CarPlay. I have my maps downloaded, and much of my music and podcasts are configured to download locally to my phone, so I'm not sure exactly when it began. I've exhausted the settings I can think of on my phone and my car's infotainment settings. I've tried: Resetting Network settings on my phone Confirming that Wifi Assist is enabled Re-pairing my phone with my car Turning off my car's Wifi Hotspot setting turns turns off wireless CarPlay. When I try to re-connect to CarPlay, I get a notification that it must be on to connect wirelessly. Turning cellular data off and on None have helped yet. Any ideas?

iOS 18.1 - Shared iPad Wi-Fi picker
I work as the end user compute engineer at my employer. My test managed shared iPad Pro was on iOS 18.0.1 and from the sign in screen I was able to double click the lock/wake button twice to open the Wi-Fi picker. I upgraded it to the latest iOS 18.1 update and the Wi-Fi picker screen no longer comes up when double clicking the lock/wake button. Has this feature been removed? If so, this will pose a huge issue when it comes to new users signing in when not on a known Wi-Fi network.

Apple RSS / AX iTunes not working / expired certificate
Hello there, Has anyone else experienced a problem displaying fresh RSS feeds from this source? https://www.apple.com/rss/ Almost every feed is linked to ax.itunes.apple.com, which is not considered safe by my actual browser. For example, this feed: https://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wpa/MRSS/justadded/limit=10/rss.xml. It seems like a certificate problem. Thanks for the reply

AirTag Communications issues on 18.2
Using Developer iOS and iPadPS 18.2 - I noticed a communications issue with AirTags. They airtag shows last location, but cannot communicate to make it make a sound. I reset one of the AirTags and now it will not connect to either iPhone 15Pro or IPad Pro. The battery is good and I've completed every troubleshooting step. has anyone else experienced this behavior?

My experience in renewing my Apple Enterprise developer account
I would like to share my experience of recently renewing my Apple Enterprise Developer account for my company. In the past few years, we have always managed to renew successfully without any glitches. This year, however, things are different. Initially, we had trouble renewing our account, and at first Apple rejected my application for renewal this time. It was a nerve-wracking time because this client was critical to our company's project. But through years of experience as an experienced Apple development engineer, and after exploring various alternatives, I finally managed to renew it. Successful payment $299. A friendly reminder to all of you: Please renew your Apple Enterprise developer accounts in advance. Don't wait until the last minute. You never know what unexpected problems may come up. I am more than happy to share my knowledge and experience with you to help you through the difficult times. Let's all focus on our developer tasks and make sure the world of Apple development is smooth sailing.

MacBook pro M1 pro camera grainy after upgrade to macOS 15.1
After the upgrade from 15.0.1 to 15.1 yesterday, the video from the built-in camera on my M1 pro MacBook Pro 14“ has become extremely grainy. It’s definitely related to the macOS upgrade. I had several video calls just before the upgrade, and everything looked fine. However, immediately after the upgrade, the video is almost unusable.

Parental controls not syncing to kids’ phones after ios18 update
First ill start by saying I’ve updated all of our phones to the latest iOS… since then I’ve been having issues removing restrictions and adding limits to their phones from my mine. downtime didn’t update, my passcode didnt update, some of the changes I Made didn’t transfer over, and all of the contacts in one of their phones were even blocked. Every one of them. not to mention that the screen time isn’t showing the correct times either. while my kids phone was put up it showed it was used for 12 hrs per day!!! And greyed. Showed nothing was used but time was calculated. She didn’t have access to the phone. I’ve tried restarting the phones. I’ve tried turning the setting off and on. It’s where I gotta set up her screen time and restrictions From her phone! might I also add since I am here that there HAS to be a better controls!! if it’s been decided they aren’t allowed to have an app after it was downloaded, we should be allowed to remove the option to redownload Without having to limit the entire App Store. whats up with allowing the kids to bypass the limit by (if consistently) asking for one more minute? We wanna protect our kids however there are loop holes.

Screen time running when I power my phone off
After updating my SE 2nd gen a month ago, whenever I power my phone off screen time is running constantly in the background while it is powered down. I shut my phone off for three hours today and when I turned it back on there were three hours added to my time, but it was a gray bar indicating a specific app was not running, but the screen was on. I restarted my phone and turned location services off and neither helped. I would really appreciate a fix to this problem because my parents constantly check my screen time but I would still like to be able to power my phone off. Thanks!

Issues with Multiple Activations and Interruption of intervalDidStart in DeviceActivity When Using ScreenTime API
I am a Swift developer using the ScreenTime API to develop an app that helps users manage app usage time on their phones. While working with DeviceActivity, I've noticed that it sometimes gets activated multiple times in succession, and occasionally, the code within intervalDidStart stops executing midway. What could be the cause of this?
