PLEASE HELP!!! I upgraded from El Capitan 10.11.6 to Big Sur 11.0.1 and my iMAC has slowed down drastically. I regret upgrading. Should have waited for a stable version. This is what I have: MacOS Big Sur (Version 11.0.1) iMac: (21.5-inch, Late 2015) Processor: 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 Memory: 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 Graphics: Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200 1536 MB I see there are several other people who are facing the same issue. In macOS Big Sur, the dimensions of the NSSearchField control have changed. For the worst, of course. Previously, in macOS Mojave or Catalina, when using a small NSSearchField control, you could replace the magnifier icon with a custom icon using: a 13x13 (26x26 @2x) image. the setSearchButtonCell: API as suggested at https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/SearchFields/Articles/CustomizingSearchFields.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/20002246-BABFIBIA Now in macOS Big Sur, a 13x13 image is: a little too big drawn over the top of the bezel of the search field. Trying smaller size does not solve the fact that the image is offseted to the top of the control and is drawn over the bezel. As there are no offset properties for NSButtonCell, maybe the issue could be fixed with an image whose contents is incorrectly centered. But I'm not in the mood to try this right now. Questions: Is this a known bug? If this can be solved by using a specific i
I have a Swift application which shows indeterminate progress bar. When I run the app in macOS Big Sur, indeterminate bar changes to determinate progress bar. Does the Indeterminate progress bar depreciated in macOS Big Sur?
Wondering if anyone is having the same issue I'm having and/or if anyone would have any idea how to fix this When I try to install Big Sur Beta 2 I keep getting Download Failed: An error occurred while downloading the selected updates. Please check your internet connection and try again. I tried resetting Software Update to non beta then install the beta setting again but that did not help... Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
I would like to purchase a new mac mini with Os big sur. My e mail system (open text First class) client only provides a download up to and including mac os catalina 10.15. Will the client for Os 10.15 work with Big sur? thanks
I have a 2015 5K 27-inch iMac (3,2 GHz Quad-Core Intel i5, 16GB RAM) with a 1TB Fusion Drive. macOS Catalina was running smoothly, but ever since I upgraded to macOS Big Sur, I've experienced general sluggishness, slower than usual startup and app launch times etc. As an experiment, I installed Big Sur onto an external Samsung T3 SSD-drive (connected via USB 3.1) and booted the iMac using it instead of the Fusion Drive. It's lightning fast! Now the question is: Should I wipe the Fusion Drive and attempt a clean install of Big Sur to see if it makes a difference or just keep using the external SSD as a boot drive? I would prefer to keep using the Fusion Drive and not rely on an external drive, of course. Thanks in advance for your insights!
Recently, I upgrade my MacBook Pro OS to Big Sur. It appears that with Big Sur, pdf file cannot be printed properly. For example, it only gives the frames of tables in the file while leave all others blank. Is there any way to solve this problem? (By the way, I have deleted the existing links and added a new link for the printer. But it does not work.) I notice that others are facing similar problems when printing Microsoft Word files.

Hi boococp I encounter a similar issue when connecting my Mac (Big Sur 11.2.3) to a NAS using SMB, but a workaround is available. It works for me, I found it here: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/661437 Open terminal and type the following command: sudo /usr/libexec/configureLocalKDC It also works for the other connected users. However it is not persistent, so after a reboot you need to type it again. It's referenced as a fix for a similar issue in a security update for macOS 10.13: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208317 Maybe somebody has a suggestion to make the change persistent ?

Hello, I updated my Mac to BIG SUR but sadly my JAR files are not playing back since, although I updated Java. Funnily, the JAR files play back on my Hootoo connected to the MAC. I tried another external hard disk but from there they do not play back either. I am desperate since I urgently need these files playing on my machine. Any advice would be most appreciated. ADA
I installed the Big Sur developer beta on both my 2018 Mac mini as well as my 2019 16 MacBook Pro. The beta runs fine on the mini but on my MBP I have a huge problem in that after the installation and initial reboot the screen flickers every 2 seconds or so, rendering it impossible to view anything. I've tried rebooting, resetting SMC and reinstalling and the issue repeats itself. Anyone else see this problem?

Uninstalling and reinstalling the Safari App Extension does not resolve the issue. macOS: 11.0.1 Safari: 14.0.1 Anybody else experiencing this?
