Reply to Future of Newsstand?
Can you elaborate on what they said again. I watched it but missed that and I'm at work and can't watch it. Meanwhile my client is flipping her lid because we've just ran a huge launch campaign for our Newsstand app, we have a truck load of subscribers and the positive feedback has been overwhelming. Some kind of answer to give to her would be great. If I suddenly have to scrap the whole thing and start again I'm not going to be happy. Hopefully there's be an easy migration process or something, but whatever happens I need to maintain my current subscribers and format. My client rejected a flipboard style curation app due to the fact that market research showed that our customers actually want a like for like digitial copy of our paper publication (which has been running since 1969 and has a traditional and somewhat cult following). Our customers love our app.I feel Apple have dropped the ball on this a little. Even a notification in the Newsstand tab of my App in iTunes Connect that points to some he

Reply to First install impressions?
Installed it on two 2013 rMBP's, so far with few issues.rMBP 1- Installation changed halfway through, and apple logo was off centre (believe this was down to me not having the display at pure retina resolution, so looked like it was displaying a 1280x800 image anchored to the bottom left of a 1440x900 screen).- Mail smart folders were removed, left with only Today. Was able to re-create them though with no issues.- New Disk Utility application. Ran first aid just to check for any permissions errors, but didn't seem to report any.rMBP 2- Installation didn't have the same issue as rMBP 1, believe that's because the display was set at pure retina before starting the installation.- Mail smart folders were retained on this computer.Overall it seems like a pretty solid release (obviously this may change across the betas), all the apps I use regularly work well so far.The new font on the fourms (San Francisco?) looks terrible on my external screen, but great on the built in retina display. The new San Franc

UUID added but not recognised
HiI've added my iPhone 6 UUID to the developer centre, and added successfully - it let me update to iOS 9. When I added my Watch UUID - it confirmed the type (Apple Watch 38mm) before saving. It did not do this for my iPhone. Is this normal?I added my friends iPhone 6 plus, and it confirmed the type before saving too. When I added my iPad, it did not recognise the type. So, when i click on the type in the devices list (iPhone, Ipad, watch etc), the lists are empty apart from the iPhone 6 plus, and my Watch.Does this matter? I dont want to mess things up.ThanksJoe

Reply to iOS 9 Beta battery life
Everyone knows Mat is correct. This happens every single year, and people still mindlessly update their only device and complain despite knowing it's only beta 1. Metrics are being gathered, Siri is probably indexing, and likely little to no effort has gone into optimization of code or battery life. Complaining here because you needed to say something isn't really helpful to anyone, so don't get all offended when you receive responses reminding you that there should be no expectation at all regarding performance or battery life in the early betas. Battery life usually starts improving after beta 2 or 3. I hope that some of this may be due to indexing and that it improves for you soon, but you may want to reset your expectations if it doesnt.

Apple Music downloads and third party apps
Will downloaded content from Apple Music be stored on the device in the iPod library and playable by third party apps? Or will Apple Music downloads be stored in a separate location and only accessible by the builtin Music app? It would be great if any downloaded content was stored in the iPod library along side other media and accessible to third party music apps. As long as the Apple Music content could not be exported from the device, this seems plausible. Ideally Apple makes available a full API for interacting with the Apple Music service.

BLE scan may freeze randomly
I'm currently working on an app that handle communication with a BLE device. One of my constraint is that i must connect to this device only when i have to send a command or read data. I must disconnect as soon as possible when it's done, to allow other potential users to do the same. One of the features of the app is the following :Users can enable an automatic command while the app is in the background. This automatic command triggers if the device hasn't been detected within 10 minutes. My app scans until it finds my BLE device. In order to keep it awake when i need it, i'm restarting the scan each time, because of the CBCentralManagerScanOptionAllowDuplicatesKey option ignorance. When it's detected, i'm checking if the last detection was more than 10 minutes ago. If that's the case, i connect to the device and then write into the characteristic corresponding to the service i need. The goal is to trigger this device when user come in range. It may happen a few minutes after being out of range such as a few hour

Reply to iOS 9 Beta battery life
I really don't understand people complaining about battery life. I think it's all the peeps who just want to have ios9 and are not bothered about developing, This is always the case with betas. In all fairness the beta is to be installed on a test phone which will be at your computer while your testing apps so what's the problem.

Reply to Future of Newsstand?
They certainly discuss News, but I didn't see any mention of Newsstand and whether it's staying or going. I see blogs reporting it as being replaced, but with no cited sources, and Apple's press release regarding News doesn't mention it at all. Is this actually confirmed by Apple?

Mail and multiple exchange accounts
Hi,should the new mail client in OSX 10.11 be able to support multiple exchange accounts at once? I have to use 4 all of which are held within the office 365 environment and having more than 1 active causes mail to crash on startup with a 'Root folder ID changed ... once an account is created, the root folder id shouldn't change on the server' error.Disabling the accounts within Internet Accounts allows me to open mail, and adding them back one at a time allows me to have 2 active but restarting then goes bang again.Deleting and re-adding them doesn't work as the Internet Accounts tool doesn't do anything once 'Done' is clicked after keying the details back in, so no chance of getting the system to recreate with an apparently correct folder ID.If I try to deactivate the only active exchange account, I then get a message that 'Only one Exchange account can be enabled at a time' which I guess answers the question about multiple accounts. Is this going to be enforced going forwards that only the one account can b
