Xcode 16 warning about missing symbols of static framework
I work on an SDK, and one of the ways we distribute it is as a pre-compiled static XCFramework. As far as I know, it’s the nature of a static framework to not contain symbols since the framework will be embedded in the final app binary, and the symbols should then be generated. However, when testing the "Validate" function of the Xcode 16 deployment process, our users are receiving a warning that says the framework does not contain symbols. Is my assumption about static frameworks and symbols incorrect? Could this be a bug in Xcode 16? Should we modify something in our framework to inform Xcode that symbols are not needed?

Network framework crashes on fork
Hello, I have a Cocoa application from which I fork a new process (helper sort of) and it crashes on fork due to some cleanup code probably registered with pthreads_atfork() in Network framework. This is crash from the child process: Application Specific Information: *** multi-threaded process forked *** BUG IN CLIENT OF LIBPLATFORM: os_unfair_lock is corrupt Abort Cause 258 crashed on child side of fork pre-exec Thread 0 Crashed:: Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread 0 libsystem_platform.dylib 0x194551238 _os_unfair_lock_corruption_abort + 88 1 libsystem_platform.dylib 0x19454c788 _os_unfair_lock_lock_slow + 332 2 Network 0x19b1b4af0 nw_path_shared_necp_fd + 124 3 Network 0x19b1b4698 -[NWConcrete_nw_path_evaluator dealloc] + 72 4 Network 0x19af9d970 __nw_dictionary_dispose_block_invoke + 32 5 libxpc.dylib 0x194260210 _xpc_dictionary_apply_apply + 68 6 libxpc.dylib 0x19425c9a0 _xpc_dictionary_apply_node_f + 156 7 libxpc.dylib 0x1942600e8 xpc_dictionary_apply + 136 8 Network 0x19acd5210 -[OS_nw_dictionary dealloc] + 112 9 Network 0x19b1beb08 nw_path_release_globals + 120 10 Network 0x19b3d4fa0 nw_settings_child_has_forked() + 312 11 libsystem_pthread.dylib 0x100c8f7c8 _pthread_atfork_child_handlers + 76 12 libsystem_c.dylib 0x1943d9944 fork + 112 (...) I'm trying to create a child process with boost::process::child which does basically just a fork() followed by execv() and I do it before the - [NSApplication run] is called. Is it know bug or behavior which I've run into? Also what is a correct way to spawn child processes in Cocoa applications? As far as my understanding goes the basically all the available APIs (e.g. posix, NSTask) should be more or less the same thing calling the same syscalls. So forking the process early before main run loop starts and not starting another NSApplication in forked child should be ok ...or not?

Bridging Headers is unsupported or Module compiled with Swift 5.5.1 cannot be imported by the Swift 5.6 complier
Hello guys! I faced a problem with building... My device suddenly updated to iOS 15.4.1, my Xcode was 13.2 and I had to update it to the latest version (13.3.1) to build the app. After the update, I had a few problems which were successfully solved but one of them stopped me for a few hours. The problem is with Bridging Headers or Swift Compiler, I really don't know what I did badly, and what causes problems. On several forums I often read that is important to set: Build Settings > Build Options > Build Libraries for Distribution But in any case it doesn't work, on yes: error: using bridging headers with module interfaces is unsupported on no: (line with import framework SWXMLHash) /Users/blablabla/SSLModel.swift:9:8: error: module compiled with Swift 5.5.1 cannot be imported by the Swift 5.6 compiler: /Users/blablabla2/Build/Products/Debug-iphoneos/SWXMLHash.framework/Modules/SWXMLHash.swiftmodule/arm64-apple-ios.swiftmodule import SWXMLHash It will be important that I use Carthage. What should I do? Clone all 10 frameworks that I use and re-build them with a new Xcode which includes compiler 5.6? That may be a bad solution... Any answers on similar topics don't help..

Scene for my "Application's Menu About "My Application""
I am using SwiftUI to create an app and I have figured out how to present a scene for my preferences window. However I have yet to find a way to modify the "About "My App"" scene. I am not even sure how to ask the question on other forums because I keep getting informations on application menus. I would like to find information on accessing/changing other menu entries in the menubar (in SwiftUI) an most specifically I would like to find out how to present a custom window (or at least custom information) when the user selects "About "My App"" I guess I don't need a solution but a pointer to documentation that will help me in my quest.

NWBrowser scan for arbitrary Bonjour Services with Multicast Entitlement ?!
Dear Girls, Guys and Engineers. I'm currently building a Home Network Scanner App for People which want to know which Bonjour Devices are in her/his Home Network environment. From an older Question I got the answer, that I need an Entitlement to do this. I started to work on the App and requested the Multicast Entitlement from Apple. They gave me the Entitlement for my App and now I'm trying to discover all devices in my Home Network but I got stuck and need Help. I only test direct on device, like the recommendation. I also verified that my app is build with the multicast entitlement there where no problems. My problem is now, that is still not possible to discover all Bonjour services in my Home Network with the Help of the NWBrowser. Can you please help me to make it work ? I tried to scan for the generic service type: let browser = NWBrowser(for: .bonjour(type: "_services._dns-sd._udp.", domain: nil), using: .init()) but this is still not working even tough I have the entitlement and the app was verified that the entitlement is correctly enabled if I scan for this service type, I got the following error: [browser] nw_browser_fail_on_dns_error_locked [B1] Invalid meta query type specified. nw_browser_start_dns_browser_locked failed: BadParam(-65540) So what's the correct way now to find all devices in the home network ? Thank you and best regards Vinz
