Hi, I have a question related to eligibility. If we consider the eligibility rules and the submission window doesn't change for next year and if the challenge is still happening, would I be eligible in the following scenario -
I graduated from an American University for my undergraduate in December 2025, and the submission is in February 2026, according to "Be enrolled in, or have graduated within the last 90 days from, an accredited academic institution or official homeschool equivalent, or an Apple Developer Academy", am I eligible.
I am not sure if it applies to university or just high school. If you don't want to answer the hypothetical answer for next year. Take this scanerio, would I have been eligible for this year's challenge if I had graduated from university in December 2024.
Thank you

i am trying to build some projects please check out my project
So, I'm new to Swift, but I'm trying to get my app idea off the ground and am trying to find a way to create the main module of the app -
two users see in real time, where the other one touches their screen.
So, each of them see a red dot light up on their screen wherever the other one touched it. Ideally dot should change in diameter based on the pressure of the touch.
Hi there! I was planning on using a data set of summer college programs for my swift app submission and I'm currently working to get the best data possible, but its proving rather difficult. I was wondering if its acceptable to use mock data or just a smaller set of around 150 entries if i cant get a large enough quality data set in time. Also, i figure it is, but im not sure if its acceptable to use a python web scraper even though its a swift challenge. Thanks!

Hello,
I was wondering what simulator device is the Xcode Playground tested on?
Is it better to support all screen sizes (e.g. IPads, IPhones..etc) and different orientations?
Thanks!
Hi,
I was looking at the SSC website and registered for the "Get ready for the Swift Student Challenge" online session taking place on the 15th of January.
I am unsure what this session entails and is wondering if anybody could clarify what it is about?
Thanks

Hello all! My name is Luke, and I'm a 14 year old with a idea for SSC. This is my first SSC submission ever. I would like some feedback concerning a question.
My app is an AI powered academic planner that helps you and your life. It uses a mini on-device LLM to help organize assignments.
This is a real business I am building, and I put inside of my app simulated features such as the app saying "scanning your Google Classroom..", would this go against any terms and make the app less likely to win?
I also have my app fully polished, and feels like an actual app and finished product, with demo assignments pre-loaded, and most stuff is placeholders. Should the app be more like a guided simulator? Such as "click here to see how this will be simulated in a final release" or again should it be polished?
I just want some feedback, since I only have 3 minutes, and the app needs to be offline, I just want to improvise. You can check out the basis of my app at my website. https://whiteb0x.me
Hopefully I can get some feedback from the community, and/or ex winners! Thanks all! - Luke
Hello everyone,
I am currently developing an app for my Swift Student Challenge submission that focuses on human motion analysis using the Vision framework.
To effectively demonstrate the app's technical capabilities during the review process, I need to include a sample video showing a person performing specific movements. However, I want to ensure that my submission strictly adheres to all intellectual property guidelines.
Instead of using existing copyrighted videos or public social media clips, I am considering using Generative AI to create an original, royalty-free sample video. This video would feature a character performing movements designed specifically to test my app's pose estimation and feedback logic.
I have a few questions regarding this approach:
Is it acceptable to use AI-generated sample assets (like video clips) to demonstrate technical features when it's difficult to record high-quality personal footage due to environmental constraints?
If I clearly disclose the tools used and the reason for using AI-generated content in my written response, would this be considered a professional approach to asset management?
Are there any specific guidelines I should follow to ensure that the use of AI-generated samples doesn't overshadow the original coding and design work of the project?
My goal is to showcase a polished and technically sound implementation using Xcode 26 while respecting all copyright requirements.
Thank you for your time and advice!
Hey guys! I am planning on join this year's SSC. I only have a iPad to do so. With that Apple says we can use Swift Playground. I am 14. And have the experience to code Swift since some years ago. I cant wait to... Make stuff!! ^•^.
I don't know what else to say...

The app idea I had in mind for my swift student chalange submission relies on data on the users phone(e.g. photos, contacts or files)
How would I simulate that data in the swiftpm package? is it enough to just have a class with dummydata?
This is probably a silly question, but I just want to make sure.
The screenshot submission states:
"Upload three screenshots of your app playground that best represent the user experience as .png or .jpg files. Do not upload handwritten notes, sketches, or outlines."
For an Apple Pencil based app, can I sketch in the canvas to show the abilities of the app in the screenshots? I assume yes and that this only refers to submitting mock-ups of apps, but I wanted to be super sure I won't be going against the rules.
Hi everyone,
I have a question about showcasing my Swift Student Challenge submission.
My app includes layouts optimized for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and I’d like to highlight that it works well across all three device sizes.
Would it be acceptable to upload one combined screenshot that shows the same screen displayed on iPhone, iPad, and Mac side-by-side, to demonstrate the responsive design?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi everyone,
I have two questions that I hope someone from the community (or Apple team) could help clarify:
Use of real Apple Executives in a creative scene
In a short introductory scene of my app playground, I included the names and emojis representing Apple executives in a respectful and creative way.
There are:
No official logos
No copyrighted assets
No branding elements
It is purely fictional and made for storytelling purposes.
Would this be acceptable under the submission guidelines, or should all characters be entirely unrelated to real individuals?
Submission file concern
After submitting my application, I realized I may have accidentally uploaded the wrong ZIP file (I mean I'm not sure tbh). Is there any way to review the exact file that was submitted? Would it be possible to withdraw and resubmit again? If so, would that count as multiple submissions (since only one submission is allowed)?
I’d really appreciate any clarification from those who may have experienced something similar or from the Apple team. Many thanks!
Hi, I was wondering if there’s a way to ensure my submission is tested on an iPad simulator in Xcode as some UI elements were designed with a large display in mind ?
I'm making my app in Xcode (as an app playground). I understand that the app will be run in a simulator when being evaluated if I choose the Xcode option on the submission form. However, my app looks significantly better on iPhones than on iPads. Is there a way for me to specify which device to use that will be respected by judges? What about device orientation? Thanks.

Swift Student Challenge
Hello Apple Developer Community,
I am planning to participate in the Swift Student Challenge 2026. However, while reviewing the application form, I noticed that my country of residence is not listed in the address dropdown menu.
I would like to clarify the correct way to proceed in this situation to avoid disqualification:
Is it permissible to use the address of a relative who lives in a supported region as my contact address?
Is filling out the shipping address mandatory for the initial submission, or is there an option to proceed without it?
I want to ensure I fully comply with the Terms and Conditions. Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Hello,
I recently submitted my Swift Student Challenge app playground and realized after submission that I accidentally selected Swift Playgrounds as the software to run it, instead of Xcode 26 or later.
My project builds and runs successfully in Xcode 26 using the iOS 26 SDK and simulator. However, when opening the same .swiftpm project in the Swift Playgrounds app on iPad, it does not compile because Swift Playgrounds currently only supports up to iOS 18 SDK and does not support iOS 26 APIs.
The submission itself is complete, builds correctly in Xcode, and was submitted before the deadline. The incorrect selection of Swift Playgrounds was an honest mistake during the submission process.
I wanted to ask whether reviewers are able to run the submission using Xcode 26 in cases like this, or if there is anything I should do.
Thank you very much for your time.

I'm preparing my submission for the Swift Student Challenge, and I have a couple of questions regarding the development environment.
Is it allowed to use Xcode to program my scene, or do I have to use Swift Playgrounds?
Can I use iPadOS 18 for development? I noticed that Swift Playgrounds currently only supports up to iPadOS 17.5, but I would like to use RealityView, which is only available starting from iPadOS 18.
I appreciate any clarification on this. Thanks in advance!

Hello !
I submitted my project for the Swift Student Challenge at 22 of February, but I never received a confirmation email. I also checked my Apple Developer account, but there is no information about my submission. I used only one Apple ID to submit. I checked all folders on my Gmail.com and didn't find any message about confirmation. What should I do ?
It's Thursday, March 27th 2025 and I'm living in the UK, I have completed my project and submitted it before February 23rd and got the confirmation email and on March 27th, it says results are out but even after I wait for a long time, I still get the same message: We’ve received your submission.
We'll send you an email when results are posted. Even after I come back 16 hours into the day which is 4PM GMT, so I want to know where to see the results anywhere else or if it's just a delay.
