I am working on a DeviceActivityReportExtension. But inside makeConfiguration method, I can not access ApplicationActivity from DeviceActivityData. Please help!!

Why must you make changes just for the sake of changing? We have a saying here - that came directly from when you changed the (then) iPhoto software so that we could no longer use the super-convenient feature of being able to print as many copies of a photo on a page - N'up with dat? This is when Apple just changes things that users love - for no apparent reason. ios 18: rearranging all the albums in Photos - WHY? ios 18: removing heavily used views in Calendar - WHY? ios 18: Spanglish? WHY? ios 18: nearly impossible to stop an alarm - WHY? Please keep the security and other updates happening - but stop f'ing with the things that users use and love...without any reason whatsoever! N'up with dat???

Hi Community! I would like to know if there is a real MacOS development course that covers AppKit without focusing on SwiftUI, or some mentors/tutors who can give me some lessons.

I was trying to debug an issue with entry point not being found on iOS 18.0 simulator and device(iPhone 14 Pro) with no success since the Xcode console output just prints No entry point found. Checked '(null)'. Later when I tried to use iOS 15.0 Simulator of iPhone 13 to see if it makes a difference, I could see more verbose messages from the loader trying to look for entry points and was able to pin point the root cause of the issue. Nothing was changed in the project settings, env variables or anything except switching to iOS 15.0 simulator from iOS 18.0 simulator, so I don't think it is environment issue or project configuration issue. The absence of detailed logging got me stuck on this issue for sometime. The same issue (minimal logging) was observed on iOS 17.4 simulator as well but is not present on iOS 15.0. iOS 18.0 Log: No entry point found. Why is my screen time doing this??? I’ve literally been on my phone about 30 mins today but it’s saying I’ve been on it all night. but it’s all grey lines and I can’t look at what it is?

I paid for my developer account on October 2nd, 2024, three weeks ago. Prior to that, I had attempted to make the payment for nearly a month, but the transaction was never completed. It was only when I reached out to a support representative that the issue was resolved, allowing me to successfully make the payment. Now, I find myself stuck at the “You will receive an email soon” message within the developer app. Unfortunately, Apple has made it impossible for me to contact them by phone again, as phone support is unavailable during business hours. Sending an email also seems futile, as an email I sent 50 days ago has yet to receive a response.

For years (since I got my M1 MacBook Pro) I've experienced this weird performance degradation. I've tried posting about it to numerous channels, always without a reply. I figured I'd try here. The symptom is: video playback (of visual frames, not audio; audio is unaffected) stutters if I just let the player play. I'll start a video playing, it will play normally, but if I leave the computer alone to play back, the frame rate will drop dramatically (one or two frames per second, even slower). If I wiggle the mouse (generating events), playback resumes normally. After a few seconds, it will stutter again. It's as if the computer were throttling back on system clocks or something because there’s no user input. As you can imagine, this is a frustrating user experience when trying to watch videos. It doesn't matter if it's a YouTube video playing in Safari, or a WWDC video playing in the WWDC.app or Developer.app, or any other video in QuickTime Player.app. And it doesn't always happen. I have my own video playback app that doesn't seem to suffer from this, even though it plays multiple videos simultaneously. I'm on power adapter, and settings are generally set to maximum performance when on power adapter. Any ideas?

My friend is having issues opening web URLs in apps on macOS 15.0.1 (24A348). In the system settings, the default web browser is DuckduckGo (he hasn't manually set DuckduckGo as the system default web browser), but when he clicks on any URL in other apps, it opens in Safari instead of DuckduckGo. So we want to know: Is this is a bug for macOS 15? Maybe the actual default web browser is different from what is shown in the system settings? Is DuckduckGo automatically changing the default web browser in the background, but not actually working? One more thing: The DuckduckGo was downloaded from Mac App Store, the bundle identifier is com.duckduckgo.mobile.ios.vpn.agent. Wake up this morning and see this very concerning sticky message in Notification Center: bash was prevented from modifying apps It didn't say what parent program called `bash' so I clicked on the N.C. message to see if there was more information and it just disappeared (as if I had chosen to click on the X to clear the message-I wish I had taken a screenshot first). I have already sent in a request to Apple for them to give more detailed information on events like this. If there is an existing threat on a device it needs to be removed. The only thing that I know of that happened overnight was a SPAM email from "Norton Antivirus" came into my Gmail Inbox that wasn't filtered as SPAM and macOS announced it in Notification Center. I don't see anything funny in the RAW data of the email - and reported it to spamcop. Is it possible that a malicious email could contain html code that runs when it's announced via macOS Notification Center?

I have an iPhone 14 with iOS 18 installed on which I noticed the vibration no longer works. The haptic feedback setting is set to "Always on", I have no vibration on notifications, nor on incoming calls and the keyboard feedback does not work either. I also noticed another strange thing: going to the ringtones menu, these do not play if I select them to try them. I tried to update to iOS 18.1 but even with this version I have the same problem. Could it therefore be a hardware problem and not a software problem? Is anyone else having the same problem as me? Thanks

How do I search for messages on iPhone by date? Running iOS 18.1. In the Spotlight feature, if I type “messages on 10/14” the top 3 results are messages on that date. But if I tap “search in app” I’m brought to a blank messages screen. This function would help me with work so much, and it’s like we’re almost there- but not. thanks!

Many issues in terms of usability and glitches. When reviewing Video clips on the Photos app there is no way to have the full screen view and pause and scroll forward and backward. It only shows the shrunken screen. When zooming in on a video and scrolling forward and backward it only shows part of the clip, you cannot scroll to the end of the clip. This must be some glitch in the software. Was any of this app tested beforehand for usability? IOS 18, in general, may be one of the worst releases I've experienced. This stuff may have been said many times already but my goodness fix the Photos app immediately!!

I bought the new refreshed AirPods Max 2024 on pre-release day and ever since I got them in has been messed up when using the AirPods Max. Sometimes it’ll work sometimes it won’t. it started while I was on the 18.1 beta which I figured was probably the issue but now I’m on the 18.1 RC and it is still doing it. It’s not the new Siri because it’s not working with old Siri either most of the time. Sometimes it won’t even let me use my microphone when connected or read any of my notifications out loud.

Yesterday I upgraded to IOS 18.1 RC, after the update, I went to the privacy and security section, then went back out and then back in, and a gray background appeared on the selected item, all the items in privacy Privacy and security are all grayed out when I go back in and then click back in. I've updated and reinstalled, but the problem still persists. Does anyone else have the same problem? I use Iphone 15PM, Thanks All!
