Apple Intelligence / Mac Mail : Summaries Unavailable
At one point, Mac Mail's apple added a summarize functionality that worked. Now when I click on Summarize, I get: "Summaries Unavailable Mail summarization is unavailable at this time. Try again later." I've rebooted, stopped/restarted Apple AI, waited a day to see if it was synching up things, etc. I'm running the latest version of Apple OS (Version 15.1 (24B82)). any ideas?

Issue with iOS 18.2 Beta - "Ask" Button Not Working in Visual Intelligence
Hey everyone, I recently installed the iOS 18.2 developer beta and connected my ChatGPT Premium account to use it within the Visual Intelligence feature. After taking a photo, I tried pressing the "Ask" button, but it’s completely unresponsive. I've tried troubleshooting by doing a hard reset and a regular restart, but no luck so far. Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, do you know of any workaround or fix that might help? Thanks in advance!

Download AI 18.2
I've been waiting for confirmation for a long time, it finally seems to have arrived, but now the software for working with Playground and Genmoji is not downloaded. For the past 8 hours, the phone has been connected to the network, it has been on hold for more than 20 minutes, everything has passed by. The most interesting thing is there is no rebounding how much to swing

Siri in iOS 18.1 only says "Done", "That's done" for the result with IntentDialog.
I'm returning the following result in one of my AppIntents: return .result(value: "Done!", dialog: IntentDialog("Speed limit \(speedLimit)")) With iOS 18.0.1 it was nicely confirming the user the result of their command by saying e.g. "Speed limit 60" and showing it on top of the screen. With iOS 18.1, it only shows/says "That's done" or "Done" at the bottom of the screen. Am I missing something that changed in the AppIntents API since iOS 18.1?

Apple intelligence image creation waitlist
has anyone else been waiting for 7+ days to get off the waitlist. The original waitlist for just regular Apple intelligence accepted everyone within a few hours, this one is taking days. Is there any way to speed up the process. I am kind of disappointed with Apple in this sense. A huge company cant even give you the features they said they promised, when we updated shouldn’t it have already been on our phones?

Early Access for playground some others getting right in
I’ve had the beta and been signed up since October 23rd. Still sitting on early access requested. It’s a 16PM. My son has my old 15PM he downloaded the 18.2 beta 4 days ago and requested access and he already has it. So is it a lottery system or only certain phone models at a given time? Anyone else have the same issue? Thanks in advance, Jeremy

[18.2b2] How do I test an OpenIntent?
So, I've declared an AppIntent that indicates my app can "Open files" that conform to UTType.Image. I've got a @AssistantEntity(schema: .files.file) and a @AssistantIntent(schema: .files.openFile) declared. So I navigate to the files app, quicklook an image, and open type-to-siri. I tell siri "open this in " and all it does is act like "open ". No breakpoint is hit in my intent's perform method. Am I doing something wrong? How can I test these cross-app behaviors? Are they... not actually possible? Does an "OpenIntent" only work on my app's own URLs and not on file URLs from other apps?

Running out of memory analyzing images with ImageRequestHandler
Hi, I'm trying to analyze images in my Photos library with the following code: func analyzeImages(_ inputIDs: [String]) { let manager = PHImageManager.default() let option = PHImageRequestOptions() option.isSynchronous = true option.isNetworkAccessAllowed = true option.resizeMode = .none option.deliveryMode = .highQualityFormat let concurrentTasks=1 let clock = ContinuousClock() let duration = clock.measure { let group = DispatchGroup() let sema = DispatchSemaphore(value: concurrentTasks) for entry in inputIDs { if let asset=PHAsset.fetchAssets(withLocalIdentifiers: [entry], options: nil).firstObject { print("analyzing asset: \(entry)") group.enter() sema.wait() manager.requestImage(for: asset, targetSize: PHImageManagerMaximumSize, contentMode: .aspectFit, options: option) { (result, info) in if let result = result { Task { print("retrieved asset: \(entry)") let aestheticsRequest = CalculateImageAestheticsScoresRequest() let fingerprintRequest = GenerateImageFeaturePrintRequest() let inputImage = result.cgImage! let handler = ImageRequestHandler(inputImage) let (aesthetics, fingerprint) = try await handler.perform(aestheticsRequest, fingerprintRequest) // save Results print("finished asset: \(entry)") sema.signal() group.leave() } } else { group.leave() } } } } group.wait() } print("analyzeImages: Duration \(duration)") } When running this code, only two requests are being processed simultaneously (due to to the semaphore)... However, if I call the function with a large list of images (>100), memory usage balloons over 1.6GB and the app crashes. If I call with a smaller number of images, the loop completes and the memory is freed. When I use instruments to look for memory leaks, it indicates no memory leaks are found, but there are 150+ VM:IOSurfaces allocated by CMPhoto, CoreVideo and CoreGraphics @ 35MB each. Shouldn't each surface be released when the task is complete?

Image Playground Supported Devices
I'm trying to determine the best practice for handling if Image Playground is available but not installed or simply not supported. If ImagePlaygroundViewController.isAvailable is true, I will just display a button to start an Image Playground session. If it is false, does that mean ImagePlayground is supported but not installed? If it's supported and not installed, instead of a button to launch it, I want to display something like "Enable Apple Intelligence in Settings" or, better yet, a button that opens the Intelligence settings. Is that possible? But if it is on a system that doesn't support it, of course, I don't want to instruct the user to enable it. How can I determine if a device cannot install Image Playground? I read that Apple Intelligence requires iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPhone 16 models, and no mention of the M1 iPad Pro, yet Image Playground runs on my M1 iPad Pro. What are the hardware requirements for Image Playground?

Requirements for Image Playground?
I cannot find the hardware requirements for Image Playground documented anywhere. I'm also not sure if they are identical to devices that support Apple Intelligence. On the App Store, the only requirement listed for Image Playground is iOS 18.2. Not knowing the requirements is an issue because I need to be able to clearly state the requirements for the feature in my app description. Also, I'm sure my mother's current iPad is too old, but I'm not sure what models support it if I were to buy her a new one.

Resize Image Playground sheet
When using the imagePlaygroundSheet modifier in SwiftUI, the system presets an image playground in a fixed size. Especially on macOS, this modal is rather small and doesn't utilize the available space efficiently. Is there a way to make the modal bigger, or allow the user to resize the dialog? I tried presentationDetents, but this would need to be applied to the content of the sheet, which is provided by the system... I guess this question applies to other system-provided sheets like the photo picker as well.
