Trying to implement my own forward/back buttons for the new SwiftUI WebView and reading the documentation I’m totally lost. What’s the recommended way of implementing forward/back behavior with this component?

Summary We are seeing a recurring fatal NSInternalInconsistencyException on iOS 26.x devices. The crash originates entirely from system frameworks (Foundation / WebKit / Screen Time / NSXPCConnection) — there are no app frames in the stack. The exception is raised from an XPC reply on a worker thread, so the host app cannot wrap it in @try/@catch. The crash appears to be a KVO consistency check failing inside the platform's internal Screen Time observer (STScreenTimeConfigurationObserver) when it observes WKWebView's configuration.enforcesChildRestrictions key path. The exception message states the value of the intermediate key configuration changed without an appropriate KVO notification. What we tried (no effect) Confirmed all WKWebView creation and release happens on the main thread. Stop loading and nil out navigationDelegate before releasing the WKWebView. Avoided mutating WKWebViewConfiguration after the WKWebView is created. Checked for any custom KVO on WKWebView.configuration in app code — none exists. The crash still reproduces; we have no path to mitigate it from the application side. Questions for Apple / the community Is STScreenTimeConfigurationObserver expected to observe WKWebView.configuration.enforcesChildRestrictions under all conditions on iOS 26, or only when Screen Time / Communication Limits / Child Restrictions are enabled on the device? 2. Is there a public API (WKWebViewConfiguration option, Info.plist key, etc.) to opt a WKWebView out of Screen Time observation for hosts that do not need Screen Time integration for their web content? 3. Is this a known regression in iOS 26.x KVO chained-key-path notification posting inside WebKit's Screen Time integration? If so, is a fix slated for an upcoming 26.x release? 4. Is there any recommended workaround on the application side that does not rely on swizzling private Foundation / NSXPCConnection methods? Reproduction notes We do not have a deterministic local repro. I'm developing a cross-platform application using Tauri, which uses WebView technology as the GUI renderer. On macOS, it should be using WKWebView. Based on my tests, all applications developed with Tauri can only run at 60fps on macOS and cannot take advantage of ProMotion displays to achieve a 120fps refresh rate, whereas the same application can run at 120fps on other platforms. I have submitted this issue to Tauri on GitHub, and it appears that this cannot be resolved through external settings, but only by modifying the WKWebView code to support higher frame rates. Is there any possible solution to this?

Hi all, Managing Safari usage in an enterprise environment and I’m looking for ways to disable or restrict the QUIC protocol to enforce network-level security policies (e.g., content filtering). Does Safari offer any settings to disable QUIC, or is there a known workaround to prevent Safari from using it? Appreciate any insights or guidance.

This post is an effort to draw attention to a regression in Tahoe that has a large impact on our app. This bug was filed during seed 3 but remains open: FB18869578: Regression: WebView fails to render fonts registered with CTFontManagerRegisterFontURLs or ATSApplicationFontsPath The gist of it is that WKWebView fails to render text that is styled with a “font-family” that references a font that has been loaded into the app using either the ATSApplicationFontsPath Info.plist key or loaded dynamically with CTFontManagerRegisterFontURLs. The area where the text should be is just blank. There is more detail and a reproducer in the bug referenced above. We really hope this bug can get fixed before GA. Currently, im on MacOS Tahoe 26 Public Beta 2, build number 25A5327h. I just recently updated to this, and now, whenever I open some sites like Amazon, or ChatGPT, it freezes my entire browser and I have to force quit it. I tried deleting the SpeakSelection.plist file which everyone swore worked, but not for me. Is this because the new update messed with resource allocation or did my user data corrupt mid-update and i have to transfer all my stuff to a new user?

On iPhone 16 running iOS 18.0(Xcode 16.2), cookies configured with SameSite=None; Secure fail to apply correctly—iOS forcibly converts the attribute to SameSite=Lax. As a result, cross-site requests from H5 pages within our app cannot carry the required cookies, causing failures. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks in advance.

As you see in the image, when I fullscreen in WKWebView, it shows black instead of the webpage in full screen. It works fine in Sequoia. It has happened to me since beta 1, but I post it now, because we’re in beta 8 and it’s not fixed. What’s going on? Can somebody tell me if they have the same issue?

I'm in the process of supporting Apple Pay through a 2nd payment gateway for some users, so I need to support two separate Apple Pay relationships. Both require their own apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association. I don't see how I can have both files for the one domain. Is this possible? Is there a workaround other than just replacing the old file with the new one and hoping that doesn't disrupt anything. That seems to be the approach taken by others (https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/695538) but it is too high risk for me without any confirmation from Apple that this is ok. I'd also like to avoid having to setup a 2nd domain for these customers, since the current domain is already quite embedded in their operations.

I use WKWebView to display a webpage that requires authentication through an authentication provider. This works as expected, but when I close and reopen the app, I have to reauthenticate. However, if I open the same page in Safari, I only have to authenticate once. If I close Safari and reopen it, the page displays without prompting me to authenticate again. I see some cookies stored in httpCookieStore, so I assume that storing cookies works. Does anyone have an idea why authentication is not persistent between app launches? Thanks in advance.
