Manage keys

Revoke, edit, and download keys

After you create a key, you can revoke, edit, or download it. You can only download a key once. Private keys are shared between apps on iOS, tvOS, and watchOS.

Required role: Account Holder or Admin.

Revoke a key

If you revoke a key, it becomes invalid and affects any services that use the key.

  1. In Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles, click Keys in the sidebar, then click the key in the list.

  2. On the top right, click Revoke.

  3. In the dialog that appears, click Revoke.

Edit a key

  1. In Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles, click Keys in the sidebar, then click the key in the list.

  2. On the top right, click Edit.

  3. Under Key Description, change the name for the key.

  4. Select the checkbox next to the services you want to enable, then click Continue.

  5. Review the key configuration, then click Save.

  6. Click Done.

Download a key

  1. In Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles, click Keys in the sidebar, then click the key in the list.

  2. On the top right, click Download.

The key is saved as a text file with a .p8 file extension in the Downloads folder.

IMPORTANT: Save this file in a secure place because the key is not saved in your developer account and you won’t be able to download it again. If the Download button is disabled, you previously downloaded the key.
