Reply to iOS 9 Beta battery life
The absurd battery consumption let this one the worst beta I ever installed. It is a beta, but still remains simply ridiculous.Fortunately for them the device used during the keynote was plugged somewhere, or simulated...I Think that Apple, same as other producers, must definitely eliminate from their goals the record of the thinner phone installing a BIGGER and more decent battery into any device.

First Time Coding
Hey, I was hoping some of you guys could give me some links to somewhere which would help me learn to code with Swift. This is my first time coding, so I have no background experience at all.I have basically thought of an app idea, and I need to learn how to set up a link in the app so that the user would be able to call someone just by pressing a button in the app. If any of you woukd be able to give me any tips, any help at all would be appreciated.By the way, the app is for an iOS. In the future, I also plan on developing the app for watchOS.Thanks,Luke.By the wy, the app is for an iPhone 6, if that makes a difference.

Rootless 10.11: Ruby Gem Executables
Hi,This is more of a heads-up for anybody concerned with installing executables via Ruby Gems...El Capitan has changed the Gem environment so that executables are no longer placed in `/usr/bin` -- as was the default in legacy OS X.bash-3.2# gem env RubyGems Environment: - RUBYGEMS VERSION: 2.0.14 - RUBY VERSION: 2.0.0 (2015-04-13 patchlevel 645) [universal.x86_64-darwin15] - INSTALLATION DIRECTORY: /Library/Ruby/Gems/2.0.0 - RUBY EXECUTABLE: /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/2.0/usr/bin/ruby - EXECUTABLE DIRECTORY: /Library/Ruby/bin - RUBYGEMS PLATFORMS: - ruby - universal-darwin-15 - GEM PATHS: - /Library/Ruby/Gems/2.0.0 - /Users/foo/.gem/ruby/2.0.0 - /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/2.0/usr/lib/ruby/gems/2.0.0 - GEM CONFIGURATION: - :update_sources => true - :verbose => true - :backtrace => false - :bulk_threshold => 1000 - REMOTE SOURCES: - https://rubygems.org/As you can see, the new path being used for executables is `/Library/Ruby/bin`The

Reply to Phone no longer Working
I managed to find the offending setting:Goto General/Accessibility/Call Audio Routing and select Automatic. In previous iOS versions I had to set this to Bluetooth headset to correctly route the audio to my Belkin Bluetooth car kit.As it may happen, Apple actually might have fixed a bug since one would expect that the correct setting should be Automatic all along.I didn't try using my Car so we may need to toggle this everytime we go in and out of the car.Hope this helps.

IOS 9 Beta and Apple Pay
Did anyone notice that when you install IOS 9, you cannot put your credit cards into Apple Pay anymore? When you go to wallet (formerly passbook) it only lets you add in passes not credit cards anymore. Also, there is no wallet in settings to enter tham that way either. You can enter them in the watch app for the watch but not to use on the IOS device.

Request temporary one-time exemption to 64-bit deadline?
A client of ours finished QA testing an app update a week late and missed the cutoff for 32-bit support. The app is built on an old framework that is tightly integrated with libraries only built for 32-bit. We are fully aware that this stale code will need to be updated, but this update has already taken much more development time than anticipated, so we would like to make it available as soon as possible. Is there any process for requesting a one-time exemption to avoid delaying App Store submission any longer?

Detect if a printer supports high-quality grayscale (UIPrintInfoOutputType.PhotoGrayscale)
With AirPrint it's possible to choose the following output types by setting the outputType property of UIPrintInfo to the relevant UIPrintInfoOutputType:GeneralPhotoGrayscalePhotoGrayscaleAt the 2014 WWDC talk on AirPrint (Adopting AirPrint, session 718), PhotoGrayscale was described as follows:[...] some printers have a high-quality grayscale mode. Some have gray inks and can print a photo in grayscale really, really nicely. [...] choose this if you want your photo to come out in a really high-end grayscale way.The problem is that if you print with this output mode on an average consumer inkjet printer you will get a grayscale print that uses the color ink cartridges–basically the same as if you made the image black and white and then printed in the color photo mode. The result is never great, and if your aim is to try to save your color inks then I imagine you will be very disappointed. It would be helpful to detect if a printer actually supports PhotoGrayscale (i.e. has gray inks, and thus can actually perf
