Reply to Beta 6 battery drain
Hi barryfrench (and others reporting battery performance),As mentioned above, please file Bug Reports if you're seeing reduced battery life on watchOS 5. Snag the Battery Life profile, install it, reproduce the issue (wear it for a normal day), take a sysdiagnose and attach to a Bug Report. Please include some details of your day in your bug report - that'll help us understand the various changes as we analyze the logs.Thanks!-nick

Reply to iOS 9 Beta battery life
I understand what people are saying. OF COURSE it's not unusual that the beta is eating battery life - it seems like early betas almost always have this problem. It's just that, battery life was a major feature in the presentation. It was expected. Therefore, it's interesting that the first thing the beta does is kill the battery since they talked so much about how it _wouldn't_ kill the battery.Anyway - just testing out this forum. Not sure I like it. 😁

Reply to battery
In previous betas I would have to un-pair and re-pair the watch and it would fix the battery issues. So far, the beta has had same battery life for on series 3 non LTE.

Reply to Apple Watch NFC Tags
Yes please Apple! If you want HomeKit to succeed and become the leader in the smart home space you desperately need to implement some easy way to read NFC tags from the watch. Battery drain could be mitigated by only enabling NFC reading for a couple seconds after you long press crown when Siri is up, if no tag is detected it could turn off. Most people will not be using Siri so often throughout the day where it would negatively impact battery life. Although with the geniuses you have working at apple I’m sure you can come up with an even more user friendly implementation that could be done completely hands/voice free without any button pushes or hey Siri cues, while also keeping battery life to all day long.

Reply to iOS 14 Beta Battery drain on iPhone 6s
Forbes released an article about it last week. Here are the important bits... ”Indexing Blues iOS 14 is definitely to blame for your iPhone not lasting as long as usual, but it’s not because Apple has secret code embedded in the new operating system that “targets” older phones. In the days after you install a new version of iOS, it’s busy doing all sorts of housekeeping. The biggest one of these is re-indexing. During this process, iOS 14 combs through all of the data on your device so that it can be cataloged for quick Spotlight searching. This takes a ton of processing power and chews through battery life like a hamster through a cardboard box.” “So How Do You Fix Battery Life in iOS 14? Wait. That’s it. Nothing fancy. No toggles to hit. No battery health screens to check out. Just wait 24-48 hours. After a couple of days and a few full charge cycles iOS 14 will calm down and you’ll see your battery life return to normal. “

Apple Pencil Pro not staying connected in iPadOS26 beta
I have a new M4 iPad Air and a brand new Apple Pencil Pro. It was working well until I installed iPadOS 26.0 (23A5297m) beta. Now, when using GoodNotes to write the Pencil functions for about 6-8 seconds and then disconnects for 2-3 seconds and then reconnects. You can imagine how disruptive this is. It does the same thing trying to highlight in the Kindle app, so I think it is an iOS issue. As I write this, I am discovering that the Pencil is not wanting to stay connected at all despite showing up in the list of Bluetooth devices and connecting temporarily. I've tried forgetting and reconnecting the Pencil several times. It is charged to 100%, and I receive the alert that the iPad detects the Pencil. Is anyone else having this issue? Do I need to assume this is being addressed?

Reply to After Installing MacOS Big Sur latest beta update, My mac is showing battery service required warning in battery Icon.
Macbook Pro 16 2019 - 4 months old - Battery life impacted after Big Sur I observed a considerable impact on battery life after the Big Sur update. My battery life has dropped from around 8 hours to 3 hours I cannot hold a charge while using an external monitor anymore (even with the massive power adapter plugged in). My Mac would ultimately run out of power before the close of business. The system runs extremely hot Massive power drain noticed while using any video conferencing app such as Hangouts, Zoom, Teams, etc.

Reply to watchOS 7 Extreme Battery Life Degradation
I have an S4 that has been in use for approximately 2 years with routine daily use, including Heart Monitoring and recording various exercise types, using Apple activity/workouts as well as third party apps (Strava)...During that entire two year period, my watch would be fully charged in the morning and by the end of the day with regular use, my battery life would average around 30-35% when I put in on the charger again before bedtime...Two days ago, I installed IOS 14 on my IPhone 11 Pro and then installed Watch OS 7 on my S4...Since doing so, my battery life on my S4 has dropped to about 4-5 hours before I get the 10% low battery warning...As a potential fix, I've unpaired my S4 and set up as a new watch per some of the forum advise that I've seen from others with similar problems as well as disabling some notifications settings for various suspect apps, however battery life on my S4 continues to drop at unacceptable accelerated rates..

The word **** gets bowdlerized. A legitimate word, too. Battery life is sucked down.

I was thinking the exact opposite. Battery life is vastly improved over beta 3.

Using Pencil with iOS 10 beta 1
I am unable to use my Apple Pencil with iOS 10 beta 1 on my iPad Pro (12.9). The pencil does pair, and the Battery widget does report on it, but no input is received by Notes, Safari or other apps. Anyone seeing this issue? Or even better, have a resolution?
