Reply to Testing Apps on iOS Devices without subscription
I haven't tried this yet but I pulled this from the XCode 7 release notes. Maybe you are running into one of these issues:Free Provisioning•Accounts with expired Apple Developer Program memberships may not be able to use free provisioning.(20486606)Workaround: Create a new Apple ID and enter it into Xcode's Accounts preference pane.•The list of teams displayed within Xcode's Accounts preference pane may not update to show your new freeprovisioning team. (19775448)Workaround: Remove your Apple ID and add it again in Xcode's Accounts preference pane.•When logging in via the Preferences window’s Accounts pane, any standard Apple ID will allow you to log inand use Free Provisioning. Such logins will not be subject to the Apple Developer Program LicenseAgreement. (21243707)•You may be asked to select between a free membership and your company team membership whenconfiguring apps for distribution. (20276021

Reply to Why?
Note the disclaimer at the top of the dev center that says a paid program is required for parts of the forums...--------------Discuss a variety of development topics, from getting started to working with the latest pre-release software.**Apple Developer Program membership is required to access certain features of the developer forums, for details read our support page.-------------...so while individuals can participate in most forums w/o a paid account, it seems not all.◅▻

Reply to OS X 10.11 SPEED IMPROVEMENT! :)
That's good to hear. I just bought a 13 MBP a week ago, and I was disapointed with the GPU preformance on standard OS animations and transistions. Not as buttery smooth as we would expect from Apple. I think I'll wait A bunch more builds before putting it on this MBP though. (I will try 10.11 on my old 2007 15 MBP when I get the chance)

Reply to El Capitan Beta 1 - mail crashes
Hi Rajeev, sorry, did not work. What I found out:I deleted the folder user name/Library/mail completelyThen mail started again - with some crashes - but I got some time because the crashes are not seconds after start. Then I checked the accounts and saw that they are mostly (not all) double (Mail / Settings / Accounts)Then I started to delete the double accounts (with some crashes) and it seem to work now.I am already chronising my Exchange accounts at the moment, but it works. What I am wondering about:Every time with a new BETA release the Mail ******** starts - I had the same at Yosemite until Beta 4.Apple - please!!!!! It is really not needed that you have the most instable Mail beta in the IT. :-)My Windows 10 beta in Parallels works much better than every Beta I saw before. GreetingsHartmut

Reply to App thinning concern
Yep. There is a bit of a disconnect between Apple's utopian Silicon Valley vision of everything in the cloud, everyone with gigabit connections and huge caps, and the real world. I doubt that's going to change any time soon.I've been hoping Apple would just use their cash hoard to launch a constellation of low earth orbit satellites to annihilate all telecoms globally and solve that problem for everyone, once and for all 😁

Wednesday Security Lab notes
FileVault 2 and fdesetupQuestion:When changing account passwords outside of the login window or System Preferences, it does not appear that the FileVault 2 pre-boot login screen gets updated with the new password information. Is there a way to force the OS to update the pre-boot login screen with the new password info?Use cases that may apply:A. Using the passwd command (running as root) to update the account passwordB. Dropping updated plist files into /var/db/dslocal/nodes/Default/usersAnswer:After password change, may need to remove and add user with fdesetup. This will flush the old password's derived key and set up a derived key for the new password.File bug reports for use cases A and B above. The response for use case B may be That's horrifying. Don't do that.Remove:fdesetup remove -user username_goes_hereRe-add:fdesetup add -usertoadd username_goes_hereQuestion:Does the FV 2 password change update process work when an AD DC is accessible via WiFi and not via Ethernet? Ran into a case where the OS passw

Apps not syncing to Watch
The Apple Watch iOS app displays a loading spinner at the bottom as it attempts to show the 3rd party apps available for my Apple Watch. It returns displaying no cells, and I can't install any third party apps (dev apps or from the store) on to my Apple Watch.Have unpaired and re-paired my Apple Watch as well as erasing all contents and setting the watch up as new, but this didn't help.I'm on watchOS 2.0b1 and iOS 9.0b1.Anyone else having a similar issue?
